Thats rough. I just played the game the first time last week and I can see the appeal of battle royale games like this and PUBG. It gets so intense. Anyone know why the footsteps are super loud? Even when Im crouching, I feel like everyone can hear.

Yeah, the Mire is a freaking gold mine. I almost always get at least a purple weapon, a blue weapon, and shields. I played earlier with two friends, and we left with two shield vials, a gold/orange weapon, a purple weapon, and like three blues.
And almost no one ever goes there to contest it.

Just won my first game! Probably 15th game overall. If they fix the FPS/skipping at points, tighten the gunplay and make the inventory less bad (constantly dropping/picking up wrong weapons lol). I will be a huge fan of this game. PUBG is too realistic for me and H1Z1 is PC only.

What's up with those weird footstep sounds? My footstep sounds are echoing behind me. Is it done on purpose so you can't pinpoint other people?
Genre is ok, I personally don't like that it comes down to luck whether you survive the first minute or not. If you land in an open area and get a shotgun you're fucked.
I hope they add cars or more fittingly a bicycle where you constantly have to push X to accelerate

Servers need to be upgraded ASAP. Seem to get more and more lag every day.
I feel like people aren't learning the recoil/bloom mechanics. I do plenty of sniping with the M16, even in grey or green variants.

My squad played 5 games last night and won them all, so it's not all luck.I admit the game felt very luck based at first but there are learnable behaviours that will keep you alive longer.
Man, got to #2 twice tonight.
Both times I killed the third guy, bandaged myself back to 75 health, and then while looking in one direction had the last guy sneak up behind me and kill me before I noticed.
Also, playing in random squads is fun, but it always seems like at least 1 person just decides to run off in the complete opposite direction than the rest of the group.

I've never died below 40 in a game I haven't been going gung-ho for the sake of it. There's more than luck at play if you're consistently going down in the first minute.
My friend is pretty obsessed with this, its the only thing I've seen him play so much and so constantly.
It seems alright. I'm not a fan of the lobby waiting time though, have they said anything about decreasing it in the future? Myself and friends have gotten into a few games and within 30 seconds been killed, it hasn't happened a lot, but waiting around 2 minutes for the possibility of no real play time is something I could see myself getting annoyed at long term.

I've had this happen like 5 times already. The close range combat is just terrible.
I even had a yellow assault in one game, cross hair straight on the dude. Not hitting what so ever.
Probably a combination of atrocious netcode and the accuracy.
But hey, i've heard they are working on it so who knows
I wish the guns first couple of shots were more accurate or just make them do less damage but more accurate, not so RNG

Also you know you can switch to solo mode right? Personally I wouldn't play squad mode without a team you can communicate with.
I mean, aside from the fact that they are indeed going to be making changes around gun accuracy, I'd suggest the problem is at least partially on your end. The shooting in this game has a knack to it, firing automatically is rarely sensible right now and even at relatively close range it's better to slow down and make your shots count. Crouching helps, not moving too much helps.

I'm getting addicted, but I'm asking myself what does the color of a gun mean? I would know a purple one is rarest than a blue one, but doest it affect the range of the weapon, the RoF, the TTK, the reload time, the ammo magazine?
Also, is it ranked like: Yellow > Purple > Blue > Green > Grey ?

Rarity affects rate of fire (on shotguns at least), accuracy, maybe damage drop off at range?
It doesn't affect clip size or base damage. Not sure about reload time.
Not 100% sure on any of that, but if you go into your inventory you can see detailed stats on any gun.

You can open your inventory and highlight each weapon to see the stats. If you have a green and a blue weapon, you can compare the stats side by side.
You'd be surprised by how little difference there is. One day maybe I'll compile a list for every gun I find.

As for what higher rarity tends to mean, it generally improves quite a few stats slightly each time. If you go into your inventory you can actually see the precise gun stats to compare. For the most part the damage and accuracy tends to increase at the very least.

I think it only improves accuracy. Edit - well looks like damage improves too.

They need to really, really reconsider this. Add in recoil or just give us that first shot. Having a shot on a guy and it missing is just dumb.
Also, PC version seems fucked. One aimbotter ruins every game and if this game wants to be so big, they need to nail the PC version

Bloom is virtually random recoil and can be minimized by 1) not moving while shooting 2) crouching 3) not going full auto.
Unless they do away with hitscan weapons altogether, first shot needs to be subject to bloom else it becomes absurdly easy to just snipe people from leagues away.
All that said, bloom definitely needs to be scaled down. They way it is right now the deviations from center aim are way too high at close ranges.

Won a solo round in the most bizarre fashion. I had the high ground with a fort on top of a hill that could only be reached by a built ramp and there were 3 other players beneath me who I'm 90% sure were teaming becuase they all tried to get up to where I was while ignoring each other but I kept taking out their ramps.
The game ended with me at 1st and the other 3 being taken by the storm at once.

Horde bash is part of the PVE mode. It's not a separate thing.
Like survive the storm was part of the PVE mode last month. They're doing events roughly every month for a month long.

maybe already explained, but the storm speeds are different depending on how close the safe zone is to the current storm edge, so say if the new safe zone is really close to the north side of the storm, that north side will be traveling much slower than the South Side of the storm, since the north side doesnt need to travel as far as the south side edge, to reach the new safe zone edge. Basically the center point the storm is scaling down on, isnt actually the true center point of the sphere(its scaling center point is the new safe zone center point.). so you will see different speeds depending on where you are.
I literally cannot find a single image on google of the Fortnite map with storm icons on it. But somehow PUBG comes up in my Fortnite search.
Anyway, in this instance the north side of the storm will be traveling much faster than the south side.

This game is just fun! And the best of all is that I don't have to pay for it. Maybe it is the next Rocket League on PS4 when it comes to multiplayer?

I think this is way bigger on consoles than it is on PC. Wish I knew what the pop size for each platform is.
Epic did say they would add in duo's after they watched pop sizes to see if it made sense and not break up the community too much.

Got a Question.... when you press up on the D-pad to get at the map. You have a pin like icon you can move around with the Right Stick. Can you actually "set" a pin in any meaningful way to set personal waypoints for yourself with that or....what is the point of that thing?
Also worth knowing you can run approximately one square (width) in one minute.
So if the storm is shrinking for 2 minutes and you're 3 squares away from the next circle you'd better have a stack of bandages on hand.
Pin with R2, squadmate's can also see it.
Yes. If you press the right trigger you'll leave a waypoint marker on the map that other people in your squad can see.

Saw a couple of aimbots, I think plus some kind of hack that removes recoil/bloom. One guy sniped someone at maybe 200m with an SMG and hit with every bullet, really obvious cheat.
Both won their games, naturally. Pretty off-putting.

You can set a pin marker with "R2" on the PS4, which your squad mates can view. Useful for easily identifying a zone to head to.
Big reason why I have no interest in cross platform play with PC. I rather have all the hackers isolated to that platform. Absolutely tears the fun out of the game.
