My god if your rating drops is it difficult to get it back up because you're banished to the lobbies where everybody goes out of their way to hit each other.

Should have never done races on that shitty oval last night.

Why am I unable to enable the rear-view mirror when using the roof camera?

I'm having to look backwards and use the radar in the multi-function display when racing.

Think the thread title and first post need to be updated with information relating to and directed towards the crashing workaround

Wait a minute, there's a rating in the game? How exactly does it work? Is it like Iracing?

The demo is constantly crashing on my Pro, is this a thing?

yes, many suggestions on how to fix it but none have worked for me. multiple people have said they're on pros too, might be related.

can you try something i didn't think of last night and turn off Boost Mode. see if that works.(not near the ps4 to try myself)

lol well I would... but after booting up the game it crashed as soon as I went into options.

So I just now noticed that the the online mode, or Sport I guess, has tracks not available in Arcade mode in the trial?

Any reason to worry that the release game would have some tracks exclusive to Sport mode? Wasn't the '8 things you need to know about GT Sport' article kind of muddled about select tracks being available in single player? And in exactly what was playable offline and without PS+?

Also makes me wonder if this could be a kind of free-to-play model which would still allow them to sell tracks without splitting the community. All tracks available in Sport mode, on rotation, with players needing to pay for track DLC to use it in Arcade and custom races.

Of course I may be reading too much into things, but my spidey-sense just kicked in.

Guys started yesterday I am experiencing a very strange issue in the multiplayer matches under lobby.
When the Final is started nothing happens. We just sit there and wait for 3,2,1, GO. Eventually in 30-40secs the race will start.
This is very annoying as it happens in every race now. Seems like a server issue.Anyone else? I am in Europe.

anyone? now happens on every race:(

I've not played iRacing, but from what I've read it's pretty much the same.

There's matchmaking based on Driver Rating and Sportsmanship Rating in GT Sport online races.
For those that are curious, the matchmaking is based on three key metrics:

Driver Level – Your driver level increases with XP gained in races.
Sportsmanship Rating (‘Sport Mode') – Just like in real world driving, we want to reward those that drive, and race, clean. So stick to the track, and limit the number of collisions to secure a positive sportsmanship rating.
Driver Rating (‘Sport Mode') – Starting on E, you can build towards achieving the coveted ”A" rating – but watch out, a bad sportsmanship rating will limit your ability to progress.

- deleted game save
- finished driver training
- finished missions
- sport mode time trial
- wait 15 min in menus

all these did not fix the issue

Has all your tries to go into the settings menu been from the main menu screen?

What fixed it for me was doing it from within race event screens and after that it worked from main menu too.

Well stick to that then! Seriously some posts are a joke

No need. PD had 4 years to make Sport and they can't hit 200 cars (not that I have an issue with that) and now say they'll be some 500 odd cars coming. Maybe in 2021.

No dynamic weather, time of day, lame AI. Driving games have seriously moved on

Sport mode is such a breath of fresh air, really feels like a next generation online racing experience. Could use some tweaking here and there but overall the experience has been fantastic so far.

Are PD having a laugh?. They can't get 200 cars in the finish Sports that's despite the team working on the game for 4 years, now the Team say they're going to double the number of cars, well maybe in 8 years time then.

Yes, the game looked amazing for Car models, but in almost every other area the game is seriously outdated. It feels like I'm playing GT on my PS2.

I believe PD built Sport from the ground up, so it took 4 years to build the cars and the rest of the game. Now the game is done, they will have more people free to work on cars, which should speed things up, so I see no reason why they can't get a good amount of cars into the game faster now.

Just did a 0:44 flat in the kart on the Kyoto Driving Park event, what's everyone else's times looking like?

granturismosportversiq5pxz.png

I need to set my wheel up, the last sector is too dicey with the pad if you try to carry speed into the first right hander, very easy to lose control.

Yeah well this !!
Offcourse its always to be seen what comes of these pr talks, but after release they can put half team on extra courses and half on extra cars. Considering gt7 is probably not gonna happen anymore on ps4 this will do.

Oh god, this would drive me mad if I had to see it all the time!

So what are today’s Sport Events? I see the Karts are in, what else?

When I turned it off it was Karts at Kyoto Driving Park (Miyabi), Gr.1 in one of the Tokyo Expressway variations and I believe Gr.4 at Interlagos.

no idea how realistic the the physics are, but the drivings feels so good. feels more refined and weightier than the closed beta.

just did my first laps in the go karts. was fun.

You know what so good about sport mode?

Nobody talking shit or playing music through the mic. Thank you PD.

they have specific people who do nothing else but work on modelling the cars. so i doubt it will matter that much in the long run.

As far as I'm aware, tracks for Arcade are unlocked as you level up. So all tracks will be available, but you just need to work a little to use them for Arcade mode.

For those on the fence about playing online, please use these last two days to try out Sport mode. I think you will be pleasantly surprised about how people play this game online, so many courteous and cautious racers out there who actively strive to race clean thanks to the Driver Rating system - it seems to be working nicely so far and I believe it will only get better weeks into full release.

I've always been disappointed with the amount of cars and tracks etc. in the game but I'm not sure I mind anymore. The quality of the models blows any other game out of the water, including Driveclub. The shader and texture work in the cockpits is nothing short of sublime. There are too many VGT cars though and the fact that some of them don't have cockpit cam is seriously annoying.

Think I'm gonna go ahead and pre order the deluxe edition on PSN later, anyway.

PD track record (pardon the pun) is pretty lame on that front. 4 years and offering a game with fewer tracks, fewer features and fewer cars than the comp is pretty poor.

In the PS and PS2 days, they were the best, since the PS3 they seem behind the times. Mind you the Car models are the best and the HDR support is the best I've seen on my LG TV too

But they've also pretty much nailed the online aspect better than any other console experience this time around.

They've moved away from the countless car museums and given us more focused groupings for power outputs. I agree on the weather front and hope that it will be coming along with some kind of dynamic tod. But those are the only two complaints I have, I'm not even bothered that they seem to be moving away from the old single player structure.

What does Gr.1 and Gr.4 mean? I also saw that there was a Gr.X

Those are the categories for cars.

Gr. 1 - LMP1 and Vision GT Cars.
Gr. 3 - GT3 purpose built race cars with advanced aero.
Gr. 4 - Production model cars with racing modifications.
Gr. B - Group B rally cars.
Gr. N - Production model cars which are further categorised into N100 - 1000 (the numbers after the "N" moniker denotes the horse power the cars have.
Gr. X - Category of cars which do not fit in the above categories e.g. Karts, Safety cars, some Vision GT cars etc.

Kart race is hype! On that sharp hairpin, I hit the brakes at the marker of that white box on the side of the track and heave it to 4th, and can get back on the throttle about half way in. Screw trying to hit the apex in favor of keeping minimum speed up. Hopefully can exit at the top of 4th. Got into the high 43s after a ton of messing around. Races are a lot of fun (around people behaving) and the front can stay in a tight cluster with the draft to keep swapping positions.

That Tokyo expressway outer loop/wangan thingie is NOT designed with Gr1 cars in mind, my god. Narrow, blind corners, easy to spin out, no runoff area anywhere. Avoiding contact with other players is essentially impossible unless you're leading. In real life that would never be okayed for safety purposes for prototypes. Gr3 would be pinball with the walls but probably more fun. Going to time trial that track a lot in the retail version... feels like it would be a good benchmark track with the super high speed, lots of sweeping corners, hard braking zones and the sloooow slow hairpin at the end.

I suck at Gr4 Interlagos because the one Gr4 car I have in my garage is a dog. Will say that car balance in Gr4 and 3 is dramatically better than in the beta.
