Far from it. The Church of Asymmetry has been around for a long time.
I always guessed was Console War as well.
Anw, to hell with AA. Just a better battery life and we're good to go.

You do realize you can use the DS4 wired? Get a long MicroUSB cable and enjoy your wired, no battery charge required life.
Never had an issue with DS4 battery. How long are you guys playing for? Definitely don’t plan on having a 10 hour gaming session. 3-4 the max.
People who regularly game for 10-12 hours in a single session are going to have more issues than battery life
Sub standard? wtf?I'm extremely happy you are not in charge. I prefer options not a company forcing me to do it their way with substandard items.
although I wish the rechargable pack was replaceable after it degrades. But they'd obviously prefer to sell more controllers.
But you can just put a play and charge kit battery in the Xbox controller and now it’s a built in rechargeable battery like the dual sense? And then when the battery doesn’t hold enough charge for you, simply buy another and chuck it in without having to scour eBay for dodgy batteries and take the controller apart to replace it.I disagree since it’s less fuss.
You can’t understand how people can like cheap and easy consumer friendly rechargeable batteries that mean you can have an unlimited supply of power for your controller easily and cheaply and not have to buy a new controller when the battery won’t hold much charge? Really?I really don't understand how some people can accept AA batteries for widespread consumer electronics in 2020 man. And then really defend it while bashing a 10 hour battery life.
Why the hell do you think most electronics are moving to Li-Po? Even headphones have LiPos in them now.
Are they limiting you? would you rather carry Duracells everywhere with you? smh...
Battery degradation, people who turn off the console, people who don’t charge between sessions etc..

Like I said, best of both worlds
I do the same thing and it’s never been a problem. And now that we’re getting longer battery life is a plus.Since console controllers bacame wireless I've always had two of them. One is always charging while I use the other. When the one I'm using is low on battery I change them. Been doing it for 20 years now.
80% charge over 20-30min in the dock is bad?

Buying new controllers every time the battery goes, again an anti-consumer thing Sony does.
Well dúh Sherlock, my phone does too but it degrades after time. They recharge!
I've never had to rebuy a DualShock controller for a dead battery.
As opposed to every other electronics manufacturer out there? Tell me about the phone you're using, your wireless headphones, your smartwatch. Do you buy Duracells for those?Buying new controllers every time the battery goes, again an anti-consumer thing Sony does.
No one cares keep using your batteries well be good
A 10-hour battery life is a joke. If I have to constantly charge something every few hours it is not user friendly. And why in the world would you carry batties around with you no one takes their consoles to other people's houses? Educate yourself.I really don't understand how some people can accept AA batteries for widespread consumer electronics in 2020 man. And then really defend it while bashing a 10 hour battery life.

Umm if you paid more attention, the "carry your batteries around with you" quote was for my example of headphones, which obviously use LiPos not AA batteries. Should probably educate yourself to read? instead of assuming what the other person says and then insult?A 10-hour battery life is a joke. It’s that more or less than the DS4?
Still using Ni-MH which is more harmful for the environment than LiPos.I Use Eneloops for my controllers, they last me way longer then 10-12 hours a charge.

I didn't insult you just blindly taking up for a horrible choice is on you man. Peace out.Umm if you paid more attention, the "carry your batteries around with you" quote was for my example of headphones, which obviously use LiPos not AA batteries. Just a thought.
EDIT: also,10 hours is now every few hours? You're reaching man
Exactly... with USB-C port you can probably charge 50% of the battery in 15 minutes. If we stuck by the reasoning some people here have we'd still be having 4 hours charging time on iPhones...It is if you don't use it for 10-12 hours in a gaming session. Someone said that you can charge it up to 80% with just 30 minutes. I'm sure you can find time to take a break and charge the controller back up.
It just comes down to me hating the controller. Everything about it sucks IMO...It is if you don't use it for 10-12 hours in a gaming session. Someone said that you can charge it up to 80% with just 30 minutes. I'm sure you can find time to take a break and charge the controller back up.
Sure mate, as if "educate yourself" said condescendingly doesn't pass as an insult. I'll stick with Li-Pos with 30 min fast charge over toy batteries thanks.I didn't insult you just blindly taking up for a horrible choice is on you man. Peace out.

Yet, no one complains that the Nintendo Switch’s battery only last 2 hours at most.
The thing is, it's not the environment impact of "after". Not when you throw them away. It's before. As if I throw them away anytime soon... you never used Eneloops do you?
It just comes down to me hating the controller. Everything about it sucks IMO...
My guess is because it won't pair with his preferred plastic box.Everything about the controller sucks?
Didn't you read the previews of it?
It's pretty ergonomic and it's better designed than the DS4. Plus It has some nice features like haptic feedback and resistive triggers.
How can everything about the DualSense be bad?
I'm saying they are cutting corners to get bigger margins on it and make a bigger profit. DS4 doesn't last fine...
Compare them to the controllers of their competitors and then you see it's shit.
- Swith Pro - 40 hours
- Xbox Elite 2 - 40 hours
- Xbox One - 30 hours

The process to make them creates more greenhouse gas than making an equivalent LiPo battery.
I've not used that specific brand of batteries no, but I have used rechargeable batteries in the past and in this day and age they are dinosaurs.
Can you charge them to 80% in 30 minutes?
Battery degradation, people who turn off the console, people who don’t charge between sessions etc..
You are right that making the controller emits more greenhouse gas than making a battery, but I've seen more than one person assuming I'd buy a new one? Is this general practice??I don't know, I always charge them 100% and that takes about three hours.
Yeah are we doing this? Making a Dual Sense controller will cost way more greenhouse gas, so after a couple of years when the accu of the controller inevitably degrades you need to buy a new one which isn't so enviroment friendly as you think.
Meanwhile My Eneloops even at one third of their charge which will be years anyway I'll bet they will reach 10 hours no problem.
