I think the best approach is to have the most options available. The closer to PC flexibility the best.
I appreciate a high framerate but I also like high res. Some games feel perfectly good at 30 FPS. My fav game from last gen was Spiderman which I played on a base PS4 and felt perfectly good. A few months ago I played it again on PS5 and enjoyed the high framerate too (with 40 fps mode). If I had to chose between 4k native res and high framerate I'd go for the first one in most cases.
I also play on PC so whenever possible I go to PC so I don't have to compromise (other than my wallet and power consumption).
I rather have 30FPS locked than stuttering.
