Can't RAGE run on Switch? After all, Witcher 3 runs on it too.
I mean sure, severely downgraded to oblivion and back. I just don't see them doing that with the RDR2 engine and above. Too much tied into the physics systems in the engine. I can see them doing that with the more flexible Unreal Engine conversion like they did with the GTA Trilogy (vomits).

But we shall see.

Whelp, that possibly rules out RDR2 graphics engine or above if so.

Please don't be another "Unreal Engine" conversion shitshow we got with the GTA Trilogy.
Don't see why the Switch port couldn't use the original assets with some bells and whistles, while the PS5 and Series X|S version would fully utilize the RDR2 engine along with all the RDR1 content that was already remade for the sequel (half the original map).

I fear it will be another GTA Trilogy UE conversion fiasco. Considering the original game was a "miracle" that it even ran (which is why there was no PC version). But we shall see. I am expecting super less from current Take2/R* who can't even be fucked with giving 50m+ sales of RDR2 a 60fps current-gen update, and shit out the GTA Trilogy and had the gall to call it the "definitive edition."

Expect way less, please pleasantly surprise me.

It just means Groove Street is making it

Well, the same sources that reported on Rockstar shutting down development on a next-gen RDR2 also were the ones to say that the company was dropping their plans for an RDR1 re-release, which now we know that it is still happening. So I'm still have hope in that an update to RDR2 might hit somewhere close to the upcoming RDR1 release.

That image has been around a while, so I doubt it's official.

I hope so as well. But keeping my expectations in check since nothing official has been announced. RDR2 is one of my GOATs.

Would benefit much more from a remaster/remake than RDR1, imho.
It's not even a part of the same series. The Redemption series is a spiritual successor to Revolver. Completely different worlds, tones, gameplay, etc...

Revolver is not in the same league as Redemption.

It's also technically a Capcom game

Yeah, fuck Revolver.

Edit: Actually, no. Fuck that. Revolver was a good game and more fun that RDR2.

It's already 4K on One X, right? Just not 60fps. I'm not shelling out 60 bucks for just 60fps. I really hope it's more than just that. A full on remake with RDR2 visuals and I'm there day fucking one.

That I really doubt though.

Its coming to switch, so dont expect anything more than whats already on xbox but running at 60. Thats all it'll be

I would not bet my money on "60fps on Switch" tbh.
Yeah not a chance of that, but will just be the 360/ps4 game with 4k/60 on Sx/ps5. Not really much chance of anything else if they are putting it on switch. I'd like to be surprised obviously but highly doubt it will be anything more than that.

Yeah, always take this stuff with a grain of salt, no matter the case. I'm sure something will happen at some point, some day. But unless the proof looks legit AF, or serious details have leaked then it's all just an assumption.

People can now manufacture all kinds of promo fakery with ease using a bit of AI and Photoshop for logos and info and such.
The lack of a actual street date is also questionable. I'm leaning towards fake.

sadly it was fake, im surprised Rockstar didnt announce anything yesterday

Yea, unfortunately. Getting something from R* this year would've been nice. Although I wouldn't mind waiting longer if nothing launches this year.
I never had the chance to get lost in the original RDR as I did with RDR2, so this would've been the perfect reason to.
