Well if that was true we would be playing games that look like NES games.
My point is, people come back to Mario because of its gameplay.

Obviously the charming and colorful world and characters play a big part, but if Nintendo only updated the graphics and not the gameplay, people would get bored really fast.
Innovating on the gameplay is a MUST over graphics.

It’s kind of a combo. Each generation you need to bring both gameplay innovation and graphics. But yes gameplay is key obviously.

It's gonna look like 3D World/Odyssey/Fury but higher resolution and less texture limitations etc (some parts of Odyssey look horrendous). Which is fine, those games have great art, just a bit limited by the Switch technically (well, maybe not 3D World, that looks great).

Pretty much what I was going to say. It’s going to look like what we have today at higher fidelity and with some more visual effects.

An even better, higher-poly version of Odyssey.

No but seriously, I think they'll keep doing games from scratch and not re-using models from sequel to sequel. Especially with new hardware, for the most part outside of Splatoon or Smash, Nintendo tends to make sequels from scratch rather than building them off the skeleton of the previous game. And I appreciate that approach quite a bit. Allows for all the new ideas and everything to really flourish rather than looking and feeling like iterative sequels (Splatoon, Smash).

I think Odyssey looks pretty damn great, so if they can do that but increase resolution and overall image quality, I'd be a happy man.

Yeah, I hope they opt for a style similar to Odyssey, with a lot of weird disparate elements all coexisting in the same game, which would give them a chance to show off the Switch 2's new tech in some areas without being too photorealistic throughout.

I'm praying they don't go with the 3D World/Bowser's Fury look, which I honestly find incredibly generic/safe/boring. The fact that Mario Wonder is weird af just like Odyssey gives me hope that the days of rigid, homogeneous Mario visuals are over.

Probably a small jump.

Much more exciting that a big change in visuals would be restoring the best moveset in the subseries... 64's movement/controls, or something much closer to it, would be amazing.

I hope its not just Odyssey 2 now with more Moons!

we see a totally brand new Mario, it can be set in the Mushroom Kingdom (a safe bet) but will look like you never seen before on those Switch 2 graphics

More platforming and more challenge, less of the unfocused Moon collectathon design and more like the old Stars in Mario 64 and Galaxy

Yeah by looking the Uncharted 4's bedroom I remember the Toy Story 1995 bedroom
Games will look amazing in Switch 2
But we need to consider the fact Switch 2 will look better than PS4 because of DLSS that make games look with more pixels than the native hardware is rendering
Maybe the framerate will be totally fully set at 60fps

They can do both, and we can discuss both.
