Winter 2012 Anime Thread 2.22: You Can (Not) Outpost Cajunator

Haly

One day I realized that sadness is just another word for not enough coffee.
DLC themes for Wii U where your favorite waifu (Zelda, Palutena, Rosalina, Samus etc) animated by SHAFT greets you whenever you turn it on.

MAKE MILLIONS.

Asks questions so Ezalc doesn't have to
They need to find a way to incorporate her into the system OS someday. She better be in Wii u OS!

I'm all for this.

Shaft needs to just make a Palutena anime. I would pay STUPID AMOUNTS OF MONEY FOR IT.

Are you seeing this Aniplex?

This too. The main reason I'm grunting through the game despite some control frustrations is I really like the characters. A SHAFT animé of Kid Icarus would be so bought!

I'm only making that one. It will be titled: "Saint Seiya Omega: We're going to catch everyone's hearts!" or maybe "Saint Seiya Omega: Athena, OPEN MY HAATO!".

Make sure the thread is bi-lingual. It should be in English and Spanish at least.

Why aren't you making the AKB0048 one????

Can't believe I totally forgot to watch this:

Palutena's Revolting Dinner 2
So, no really, why isn't this a full fledged anime?

I would throw money at it to make it happen.

There is growing support for a Kid Icarus anime. At this rate, Aniplex just has to sell four ludicrously expensive boxsets and they will make bank!

AKB0048 will probably be watched by everyone, and they will complain and argue through it, until they all realize- far too late- that they all watched the entire thing.

There will be bitter tears flowing everywhere. I hope the floodwalls are in order.

I couldn't have imagined it any better myself.

If people are interested, I highly recommend they read the short story first. The short really brings the writing to life in weird and interesting ways.

Natsume fin:

Yup, pretty much.

I hope the fangirls are still invested enough in this show to keep it afloat. I have no idea if they've caught up to the manga chapters or whatever, but I'd be happy to watch more of this show. I think I'd almost want at Reika spinoff at this point though.

I believe they are one volume behind assuming they were still going at 3 volumes a season like they did for season 1 and 2

I'd love to support this Palutena motion, when Nintendo finally decide to beam these mythical videos to my 3DS.

Another - END

Well that's that, Misaki with that contrivance trolling and they managed to fit in the
dam scene from episode 1
. Although I'd love to call bs on the kill count lol.

Natsume S4 - END

What a limp ending it was basically episode 12 redux, with an honorable mention of Natsume's parents at the end, absolutely not what I was expecting coming from episode 11.

Lol. Yeah, it'll be up tomorrow. I'm actually gathering PVs now.

And talking about PVs, that new Lupin PV is fantastic. Hype through the roof for that one.

Dude, Korra has to be the first show on the top of the OP.

I believe they are one volume behind assuming they were still going at 3 volumes a season like they did for season 1 and 2
3 volumes per cour? So we have to wait for at least 2 more volumes to be made until they even have enough to adapt eh? That means it'll be a year - if not more - before they can even plan a series. Booooo.

Aniplex seems to take enough money from Shaft that they may as well own them.

SHAFT should just buy Aniplex with their cash from Nise and the Meguca movies. Then I would actually have a company I'd feel comfortable supporting with their $3925749205479 barebones subtitled BD releases.

The releases are certainly not barebones.
There are plenty of extras that...almost...make them worth it. You have to add a bit of crazy in the mix to actually purchase them, but there is at least substance to these bluray release boxsets.

So far though, it has been mainly Madoka and Fate Zero that get this treatment. Has aniplex done this with any other series?

Despite its Asian aesthetic influences, Avatar: The Last Airbender's storytelling sensibilities are in line with American serialized television, not Japanese animation. Whatever you feel about its quality, it's misguided to compare it directly to anime.

Kara no Kyoukai was the first, I think.

I don't agree, because serialized animation really isn't something as common in America. It also provides that "this is cool" feeling that anime has historically been known for and people find disappointingly lacking these days.

Clearly Watanabe was just aping North American serial telly.

The underexposure of anime back in the day is what made it look cool (also the fact that only certain shows got brought up). The advent of internet communications and all that shit has only made it easier for people to realise that there's a lot of shit. Like a shitload.

I just realised I have like twenty episodes of animu to catch up with if I want to be on track for the next thread. :(
Anime does that all by itself, though, it doesn't need the help of Americans!
Kicking the horse while it is down is the most respectful thing you guys can do for Japan. Obviously.

Serialized animation is indeed highly uncommon in America, and Avatar has received deserved attention and respect for what it achieves. What I'm saying is that in its structure, its manner of writing, and its focus on writing, it reminds me more of a live-action show such as Babylon 5 than even an anime like Cowboy Bebop.

I'm not sure I'm aware of the difference.
