I feel like The Ritualist had some leaked concept art, didn't it?

At least I associate it with an image in my head.

I actually added that the leak of three in-game objects led to relatively big trouble for the arist. Even then, there were many layoffs/departures from the The Ritualist team and still nothing meaningful has leaked in spite of 3 in-game objects and a few concepts from 2004 when it was pitched as a Silent Hill game. With a that large team it's pretty impressive.

I had heard there was going to be a 2D Rayman for Wii U, but I assumed it was going to be Origins.

Because, well, Ubisoft.

I think I posted "I hope you guys like Rayman Origins" a few threads back.

Seriously. Waking up to a sequel was quite the surprise this morning. I was certain Ubisoft was going to announce a PS2 version of Rayman Origins at the rate they were going.

As for leaks, I think today's trailer may open the floodgates. I was expecting much more out of April, considering we got the majority of the beefy Wii U leaks during April last year.

Wastes hours checking old Famitsu software data, but that's why we love him.
we are getting our hopes up aren't we?

there is no way we get any more leaks the next stuff should all be approved teasers right?

I feel like it will be impossible for everything to hold for the next month, at least 3rd party wise.

maybe i missed this, but what does DRC stand for? from context i think it's the wii u tablet controller, but i'd like to know what the acronym actually stands for.

Walruses, camels, bears, rabbits, tigers and badgers.
I'm not taking credit from anything, it's just another point, after others (like the lherre message here), that tends to prove that i have really insider infos. Go back to thread 3 or 2, maybe on GRO thread or another one, i specifically stated that some people should expect another project that those announced/found that is not a fps, a bta, a dance game, etc. + the yesterday confirmation of the Wii U version, more than ten hours before, not by pure chance, the video leak. Now, if you think that i came to the board yesterday, and said "hey, let's make them believe i have insider info and create a fake news about a Wii U version", it's your choice. Now i won't elaborate further on the topic to not pollute it, sorry for the others :)

I'm just posting like I see it. I've been following the threads since the very first Wii-U speculation thread so I've seen the majority of your posts already and to be honest you haven't given us any concrete or substantial information (IMO) worth noting. Nothing worth all the teasing and constant reminder of all the "sources" you have either.

Though hopefully you post sonething substantial and are proven right at E3, and I can eat my words. I'll gladly apologize to you. :)

While I don't think a Mario platformer would work with Rayman's aesthetic, I think it made me a believer that something like an illustrated 2D Smash Bros. could work really well.

I'm still pleasantly surprised with Rayman Legends

They need to make a Mario like they did for Wario Land Shake It.

I know it is early and all, but it sure seems like Ubisoft's Wii U launch lineup is going to be significantly better than what they had out for the Wii. So that is a good first step.

Of course, the real test is in a year or two.

Yep. I'm not even a big Ubisoft fan, but there's definitely more stuff to be excited about. Last year, we knew Ubisoft announced plans for 5 projects for Wii U. So we've got Assassins Creed 3 , Killer Freaks From Outer space, and Ghost Recon. Apparently, the other two were said to be a new Raving Rabbids game and some kind of "multi-sport" title. With Rayman Legends just announced, that's now 6 games headed to Wii U with at least 4 of them planned for its launch (assuming Rayman is one of em). There was a rumor that Ubisoft was possibly making an MMO title, but Ubisoft probably has a better chance of announcing BG&E 2.

I must do a list of all i've written/hinted since thread 2, some is vague and may have been guessed, some is unheard before. But, well, like i said i won't justify myself further, time will tell.

The Sports game was canceled, actually.
Studio closed down.
Though, that's actually amazing news in terms of lineup.
:p

Dont let people get you too frustrated. People dont even keep up with official Nintendo announcements these days. How many people last night were asking what witchcraft was being used for the object interaction when Nintendo announced the tech already

32 and the Nintendo was the first console I got brand new when my parents bought it for me for Christmas with Legend of Zelda, Donkey Kong, and Ghosts and Goblins.

I stayed a fan of Nintendo's through the SNES.

But stopped owning Nintendo systems after that, I skipped the N64 and Gamecube. Instead I got a PS1 and PS2 during those generations.

Nintendo got me back with the Wii and I re-fell in love with the company. I am hugely excited for the WiiU, as the Wii has been my most played system of the generation. (I still love you PS3).

One great thing with the Wii was I was able to collect many titles I missed out on during the GCN era and used VC to play several N64 games I missed out on. This has been an awesome generation. (Metroid Prime 1&2...how could I have missed out on those awesome masterpieces of games!!??!!)

I noticed this with many of my friends who purchased Wii's, and who had stopped gaming (in general, unlike you who stayed with it with PS1 & PS2) after the SNES

To them, the Wii was always the "next gen" system to get. It played their favourite NES and SNES games from their childhood, and they were able to download many N64 games and collect GameCube games, all the while playing Wii games. They loved the thing a great deal too.

Funny how different these types of perspectives are from the general hardcore gamer.

weird

Polygon sources familiar with the Wii U say that the tablet has a cable coming out of the bottom of it because it is a dev kit, which currently is only available wired. The wireless version of the dev kits, we're told, won't be released to developers until June.

Really weird, it's conflicting with what i've heard. I'm pretty sure the dev kits, maybe at least from revision 3 (and more surely for revision 4), have the option to switch between wired and wireless mode. Now, maybe the DRC weren't wireless until a few months, but even then, it should be the case now. I could be wrong though, perhaps the dev kits themselves are ready for wireless communication with the DRC, but the DRC prototypes in possession of third-parties aren't.

interesting but luckily shouldn't make a difference development wise I would assume.

While it's unpopular, I believe that NSMBWii had the right solution to have more simplistic shapes and brighter color scheme to make it instantly readable for 4 players. Rayman Legends obviously works, but the action that game has might be too much for 4 players, who might not be experts. I thought 2D illustration might work for Smash Bros. becuase Smash doesn't demand too much of the camera, and thus the audience's eyes.

Warioland's screen is kinda claustrophobic. It's an easily-solved gripe though, because of the aspect ratio and resolution will improve a hypothetical new game on Wii U.

Do you guys think Wii games will be available on Virtual Console?
Probably not, but Gamecube games maybe. Wii U itself can still play retail Wii games.

Wii games will probably get HD reprints...

Its possible their source may come from a less important studio in the Nintendo Heirarchy of devkit shipping

Yes, but less in a VC way and more of a "download like New Super Mario Bros 2" way ie high prices. And probably few and far between :-/

Yeah that took me a little while too. I'm sort of anti-acronym unless it's bloody obvious and DRC isn't. "Tablet" and its 3 more letters does fine for me.

I loved the first one to dead but I thought it flopped so hard they wouldn't even botter with a sequel

Games like these totally deserve better sales.

Someone pulled out a figure of 400k worldwide for the first ED. Not an impressive number, but the Gamecube's user base was pretty small so I think it's respectable for a non-franchise title. Plus it was well reviewed and highly regarded. If it's a Wii U launch window title and uses new features creatively (we're guessing that's the entire point of it being resurrected) it has a good shot of being a hit. But I guess there's still a chance it's actually Too Human or Lagacy of Kain until Silicon Knights expressly states it's ED.

And this is even weirder considering E3 is in June also.
I think it's wrong, or i haven't understood well what i've heard/it wasn't explained to me well/all wasn't revealed to me concerning this part.

Windwaker DX edition

All the faults of the original fixed, improved graphics, more dynamic weather effects (including a truelly spectacular storms that effect your ship stearing) plus the dungeon we never got to play.
