Silly hyperbole only dilutes the point you're attempting to make and lessens the likelihood that you'll get reasoned responses.

But you're really saying you find Small Wonder funnier than Seinfeld?

A Pretty Panda

fuckin' called it, man
I FUCKING AGREE

with the Blade Runner part too.

I fell asleep during that movie jeez. I swear it must be nostalgia for the special effects for the time or something.

edit- since the OP outed me and people feel like quoting me

To clarify on my earlier post

I exactly wouldn't say "unfunniest of all time" but I do feel it's overrated.

Not only is Seinfeld not that funny but all the characters are super unlikable. I've never laughed at the stand-up bits at the beginning and end of the episodes. I'm saying this as someone who watched the show while it was airing.

I think there are a lot of people who either like Friends or Seinfeld, I'm in the Friends camp.

That's the point.

Uh yeah?

This is like that one thread where some guy complained that Ferris Buller was a bad movie because of how bad Ferris treated Cameron. That's what makes it SO funny. They're horrible people!

bahahahahaha

Seinfeld is the greatest sitcom of all time. Very smart humour, so it's understandable that people don't "get it".

Seinfeld is the reason shows like Family Guy and Always Sunny exist

I don't really see the similarities. Family Guy is my favorite show ever.

What I like about Seinfeld that keeps me loving Family Guy is that I really care about each of the characters and they don't overuse any individual one. They can do an episode that focuses and George and it be equally as entertaining about anyone else but not over saturated. Family Guy does the same thing. Characters like Herbert and Bruce are hilarious but they don't overuse them, they show up every once in a while and its hilarious.

That's a terrible example. Ferris wanted Cameron to come out of his shell and enjoy life more. He's not a terrible person by any means.

I also learned today there are actually people who prefer friends over Seinfeld. Didn't think that was possible.

Why do you keep hurting yourself?

It's been stated before that the George Costanza character is based off of Larry David.

Aha! I always thought so since I saw them make the "Jerry" pilot on Seinfeld :lol Just didn't want to state it as fact like I was pulling it out of my ass.

No, the award for "unfunniest" (is this even a word?) and overhyped goes to Friends.

As for unfunniest without the requirement of overhyped: According to Jim, Yes Dear, Cavemen and a host of others take that award.

Depends what you want out of your sitcoms. Shows like Friends & How I met your mother put likeability & character development over the script.

Give me assholes & a funny script over likeability anyday.

There are some great earlier episodes, but it doesn't really pick up and become great til season 4 or later, imo. Like someone said there's an episode for every situation, and it's amazing. The opening of "Summer of George" with Elaine and the non-arm-moving woman is classic.

Aren't the characters supposed to be unlikeable? No hugs, no learning.

Hearing someone praise Friends over Seinfeld is the 90s version of someone praising Two And A Half Men over Curb (ironic considering the OP's examples)

Skiesofwonder

Walruses, camels, bears, rabbits, tigers and badgers.
butt Seinfeld just seems utterly unfunny to me. Like, on Two and a Half Men levels.

You know how I judge if a person has good humor or not? By their stance on Seinfeld. If someone says they are funny, I ask them if they like Seinfeld. If they say no, then I tell them they aren't funny.

OP is either a masochist, a troll, or a masochistic troll.

I mean, you are entitled to your opinion and all, but dropping Blade Runner in there for no reason = trolling.

I liked Friends when I was a teenager and needed Ross and Rachel to fill the void Zach and Kelly left in my hope for true love. It will always have a special place in my heart.

Yeah, I gotta admit I'm judgmental of people who say they hate Seinfeld. I know we won't get along :p

On the topic of awkward humour and asshole-ish characters, I'm really enjoying Web Therapy - Lisa Kudrow is fucking hilarious.

Forget the rest of this thread, Friends?! Really? That life-less hack of a show with no flavor what-so-ever, that dared to be called a sitcom is better than Seinfeld?

Pretty much this.

Is this a joke? are you seriously quoting people in your OP from the replies?
