Gonna get Guardian Cross soon, any other good free iOS games available atm?
I plan to start purchasing some games in October after I get my paycheck ^_^;

GoF2 HD just can't handle the retina, real racing 2 while fully playable is still a choppy 30ish with replays going below that sometimes, RR games always seem to get worse with updates as they go along the year. Asphalt 7 is not native retina res while racing, all I can think of right now.

It's still a good device for sure but it's just below what I expected, when available I play games in the older res just to keep frame rates up or smooth (GoF2 HD for example)

The art on the cards is neat but the character and background art is laughable. In case anyone else is starting out in Guardian Cross, my code is KB43730. They're giving out FFXI and FFXIV-related cards for using these codes.

I'm surprised I'm finding this pretty fun as I never liked all the other types of games like this. Its probably cause its a Square game that got me to stick with this.

Yeah. Magic is a slow and bloated mess. After playing other iOS card games, I just cannot sit through Magic. It's terrible.

What's the chance of older titles (IB2, GTA, Real Racing 2) releasing updates for the iPhone 5 resolution? I haven't played some of the bigger titles recently as I ran out of room on my 4 and it was getting a bit sluggish.

Anyone getting the new iPod touch? It having the same screen as the iPhone 5 and getting the A5 is looking like it will turn out to be a pretty sweet gaming device.

I'm gonna be right on that ASAP. I'll probably order it in late OCT. so who knows when I'll get it, though. Hey, when you order directly from apple.com do they charge your card as soon as you order or do they wait a few days?

Same here, I can only manage with 8 moves on that one. I can do different combinations but I always end up getting all the three whites on the right column with six moves and needing two more to end it.

I might. My 4th Gen's screen right now is broken. But also since my phone contract is up I am deciding between an iPhone 5 or the next Nexus. I currently have an HTC Incredible.

I have 8 hours to kill tomorrow. Any good recommendations on a tower defense game and a turn based strategy game? I already have Kingdom Rush and Plants vs. Zombies. Also hoping to keep it under $5 total. For IPAD 3.

Super Meat Boy is the most satisfying plat former I've ever played. I'm not a fan of the Mario games though, so my opinion may mean shit to you lol

But the game makes you work for every victory. Its challenging but gives you a great sense of accomplishment too.

Let's see:

Cursed Treasure HD is a great TD game. Very tightly balanced.
Anomaly Warzone HD is reverse TD. Very fun and looks brilliant on the retina iPad.
Hunters 2 is a great TBS and will keep you busy for hours.
Ravenmark another great TBS
Great Big War Game and the Squids games are also good TBS, though less complicated than what's mentioned above.

All of these games have had sales at some point. Sadly they're rather expensive ATM, so take a look at them and buy what interests you the most.

If you want good free games:

LandGrabbers is a free strategy title. Should keep you busy for a while.
DeadTrigger if you're a fan of shooters.
Run roo run is a great platformer.
Summoner Wars is free with the starting factions. Great chess-like strategy title

Guys, specifically iPod touch guys, let's name some games that ran like crap or not at all that we want to check out or re-examine once we get a badass new Touch.

For me:
walking Dead
Dead Trigger, though I already love it.

Ticket to Ride has been very enjoyable. They really did a great job with the art style and the game mechanics. It's not too hard to find people that will play an entire game in one sitting, either. Which has always been a turn-off to me for most asynch games.

Fun fact happened today. I saw the kid of a friend of mine playing Pro Evolution Soccer on the iPad. He had a 3DS on his lap, curiously, with a cart of Pro Evolution Soccer too. He is about 7.

I asked him why he was playing the iPad instead of the 3DS. He said the screen was bigger and prettier, so he liked better. I asked then if he didn't mind the lack of buttons, and he looked at me puzzled. He answered "huh, no... why should I? There are buttons here too, look", pointing to virtual buttons. Then I showed him the 3D and he said "yeah, I know, I don't really care". Though to be honest, the 3D in PES is pretty crappy.

Guess some kids don't care all that much. They grow up with touchscreens, so it's second nature to them.
