And it's so much worse than the colorful EUR/JAP color scheme
I agree with this statement. Hate the NA SNES controller design, but I didn't know that until years later once I finally saw a EU/JP controller.

Are those Wii U Pro Controllers 3rd party or Nintendo?
Damn it, I want the SNES one. :-(Third-party.
So cod elite is really not going to be on the Wii U version of the game? Im having my doubts of the online now. Wheres my vodka..(water)
Hopefully its this because I can believe this too. Kinda bogus though. What I need to know here is, is this for the website or the app? I could understand if its for the on system app and they are lazy, but if its just updating stats for users on Wii U for the website thats just pure lazy. The only thing I could think of legitly for why they cant do the website thing is if Nintendo doesnt have universal unique user accounts that will really make it hard for them to do. They cant just update the stats for octog123 because there wil bel 80 octog123s. I know Nintendo can do it though, club nintendo afterall has seperate individual user accounts.AGITΩ;43294749 said:I doubt it's Nintendo's online structure, if we're still getting DLC and all that jazz. I honestly just think Activision [and EA for that matter] just dont think theres a real market for it on the Wii U. They are using COD [and Mass Effect 3] to test Waters, but are more betting on it with their Family Friendly and kid titles.
So at Nintendo, you are playing with your CEO? Damn it...
"Playing at Yamashita-san's house worked with one wall in-between! (laughs) When asked "Can I use it in my bedroom?" we can say that it would work within the same space when there is nothing in the way, but basically it depends on how your house is constructed, so we have to ask that you test it in your own home."
Use the Wii U to play xenoblade? So I can use this for Xenoblade then?
Use the Wii U to play xenoblade?
can you use wii controller pros as the pro controller for wii u games?
Sorry I should have specified better, I meant the wiiu pro controller.
No. The Wii U goes in Wii mode when you put in a Wii game. That would mean the controller would have to be backwards compatible too. Maybe if its from the eshop, or if you have that 3rd party controller.can you use wii controller pros as the pro controller for wii u games?

Edit: Why hasn't a third party ever made a "waggle" button input for waggle haters?

AGITΩ;43295279 said:Its an interesting situation. I don't think there's been confirmation of Pro controller use for Wii games. Yet this third Party controller says Wii U/Wii....Which would lend itself to a yes....
With means...I should be able to play Xenoblade off screen on the Gamepad, using the Gamepad in CCPro mode...from the comfort of bed.
You know this is your fault, right?
It is too reliant. Im starting to think if Ill be able to even play the multiplayer games at all.Anybody concerned about Nintendoland being too reliant on getting lots of people around to play? All the impressions I've read are about the asymmetric gameplay and many talk about being better with 4-5 people. Is there no single player mode at all?

I think Balloon Trip Breeze is a single-player game. Most multiplayer games will supposedly scale depending on the number of players. However, I've heard that Mario Chase is virtually unchanged even if only one person is chasing Mario, so having the maximum number of players is obviously optimal.
I wonder if you can play multiplayer games with computer opponents. It definitely won't be as effective, though.
Have you played a Wii?Why is there a power and home button? Usually they're the same thing.
I replied to it I think. How does it say anything about Nintendo's online when Activision can't get their website service thing ready for the new console launch.
The 60 second one?Just a heads up. Today should be the day when Wii U commercials start hitting European / UK televisions. Keep your eyes peeled!

Iwata
It's difficult in wireless communication when conditions aren't constant.
Mae
Right. It's extremely tough, wirelessly, to have players hold the Wii U GamePad and move with it because of the Doppler effect17. 17. Doppler effect: This is a phenomenon observed when wave frequencies differ due to relative speeds between an observer and the source of electromagnetic and sound waves.
Iwata
And games that involve all kinds of movement are going to come out one after the other.
Mae
To be honest, I even thought, "No, please don't!" (laughs) Also, it's okay to hold it vertically.
Iwata
To address why holding it vertically may have been an issue, is because radio waves don't spread well underwater, but the human body is 60 to 70 percent water, so it can interfere with radio wave paths. Since you hold it both vertically and horizontally, it gets more difficult to place the antenna where the radio waves can easily reach it. If the cost wasn't an issue, there would be many ways to resolve it like adding more antennas. Besides, since you make various movements with the Wii U GamePad, the radio waves might get distorted. You had to think about all those problems.
Yamashita
Everyone will probably test to see how far the radio waves will reach in their house. (laughs)
Iwata
As Nintendo, we say that it will be fine using it within the same living room where the console is in, but a lot of people ask what about through a wall?
Yamashita
Yeah. The other day, someone in a different department asked if he could use it in his bathroom at his house! (laughs)
Iwata
Differences will arise depending on whether you live in a house made of wood or an apartment of reinforced concrete, and what materials the walls are made out of.
Yamashita
Yes. What we can say for certain is that it will be fine within the same space.
Iwamoto
However, if you place the Wii U console in something like a metal TV stand it may deflect the radio waves thus reducing its usable range. Radio waves weakens by the square of the distance, so even within the same space, too much distance could make them weaker, and having obstacles in between would be a disadvantage.
Yamashita
Using the Wii U GamePad with a television is one of the ways that you can use it, but a good thing about the Wii U is that you can also play without the TV*. Because of the way Wii U is used it becomes easier to forget about the console, so it's possible that some people might wonder why it doesn't work when they're away from the TV. By the way, my living room and bathroom are separated by a single wall and I was able to use it. (laughs) (*Editor's note: This functionality is supported in specifically designed games.)
Iwata

Not sure I'm understanding you correctly, but -
Xenoblade is a Wii game, meaning the Wii U will be in "Wii mode"
In "Wii mode," the U won't recognize any U devices (such as GamePad or Pro Controller), only Wii stuff
So you'll be playing it on the TV, I'm afraid - with the regular Classic controller or Wiimote/chuck - unless they make some kind of patch for the game.
So best buy cancelled my Wii U deluxe preorder. Pretty pissed off about that. What should I do to ensure I could get one at launch? At this point I don't care if it is not the Deluxe Bundle, I just want a Wii U in the house.

Today I showed the Tvii trailer to my antigaming gf. THANKS GOD she liked it. Today I preordered a Wii U zombieu pack. Does Zombie U have any kind of online multiplayer?

Out of curiosity, was in in-store or online preorder?

Wii Mode. I just wish it was possible to take advantage of the systems extra ram. Perhaps some games would run better. From my understanding it's going to mimic a Wii straight.
