Even though the rally expansion seems overpriced, I bought it. I'm really enjoying it. The sense of speed is insane! I'm having trouble winning races on medium. I get around 27th and sometimes 50th on many races. Not sure if I should lower the difficulty or just keep racing to learn the tracks.

It is short but good, didn't have any urge to better the Horizon events but Rally certainly has some replay value.

If you don't have the Golf R because it was a gamestop exclusive, I would say use the 22B in A (I have used the Lancia Delta in A but it wasn't as good as the 2 other cars I listed)
The cars that perform best are smaller cars that already have some decent power before you add anything. The cars in the rally pack are kind of under powered. There would be some great small cars to choose but unlike Forza 4 you cant convert the FWD to AWD, so your options are kind of limited when looking for small AWD cars.

Bought the Rally dlc yesterday. While I was initially in love with it, I'm now seeing how little content there really is. Unless I'm missing something. I have to re-do a couple of rallys in order to qualify for the final, but once I do that's all it appears I have left to do.
Can anyone speak to this, am I assuming too much?

Well there's playing online, and rivals. Other than that if you're just talking about 'beating it' and being done with it, yeah there's not much.

Man I love this game. I bought it on BF and it got here a week or two ago. I've been putting some time into it and it is so good.
I buy the Forza games even though I don't care for the more sim-like racers, but this hits the perfect balance between sim and arcade for me (I get that it isn't THAT much of a realistic racer though and more arcade-y than the past titles). I was surprised that I enjoyed it more than NFS Most Wanted, because that was one I was looking forward to all year (huge BO Paradise and OG Most Wanted fan).
The graphics and environment are lovely. I love just cruising around looking at the scenery.
I am really digging on the soundtrack as well. I like the EDM station quite a bit. My only gripe is how the stations are set up. I get that it is supposed to feel like a radio station and everything, but I wish I had the ability to make a custom station where I could just listen to specific tunes. As far as I know, NFS MW doesn't even have the standard EA Trax option where you can turn certain songs off.
I look forward to putting a lot more time into this and racing online when I go back home on vacation in Feb (internet here in the arctic circle isn't good for online play). I will probably wait for a price drop on the rally expansion, since rally racing isn't something that has ever appealed to me. I'll still get it eventually though, because it is more content for this game.

So haven't tried this in Horizon Rally yet, but I built my Targa Viper:
It's pretty fantastic on the roads/trails of Forza's Colorado.

I don't have XBL so online is out. Hadn't heard about having rivals in the rally dlc.
edit: Oh, that's just trying to beat friend's times. Ok so yeah, looks like I'm done with this. Kind of a bummer.

There really should be a time trials option where you can pick any track, any time of day, any class and any car in single player. Seems like a terrible omission.

Has anyone tried Smartglass with FH? For me, the map is so janky to use that it's pointless. I'm using the iOS app by the way.

If one were to say, get the Season Pass now, they still get the five exclusive to Season Pass cars, right? or are those like VIP gift cars where if you miss your window of opportunity you dont get them? I know it's been largely debated over whether the Season Pass or even the Rally DLC alone is worth the asking price, but Christmas left me with some extra points.

Yes the 5 season pass cars will be there in the game marketplace hub showing as free. There are three up already and two more to come. Plus all the packs and rally of course.

Got it like 7 or 8 years ago at Target.
I tried it with both iOS and Windows 8 (admittedly, on a fairly average tablet... but Win8 itself runs fine) and yeah, it was quite sluggish and not really a good example of what Surface should be doing. You'd hope for more than essentially a Java-based web feed of the in-game map with no sounds or any other interactions. Would've thought at least they could have the GPS voice pipe through it, but oh wells!

Put some Trans-Am-esque cars in the club. The 'Cuda is almost 30mph faster at the end of fourth than the Mustang or Camaro.

Past couple of days I have put in some time in multiplayer. Went from a 6 to 23 fairly easily, but I was reminded of why I dont do it more often.
Why do people feel like its ok to start ramming you off the road If they are passed. Dont play in veteran if you dont want to get passed because I have a better car than you..........WTF!
Rally is fun because its just ghost.

Not bad, had a non video game playing friend over a few days ago and sat him in my racing chair and had him drive across the map in Horizon. He loved it!
(Other than getting harassed by the lady 3 times to buy a new car!)
almost makes me want to shut the game off...
At least let her be aware. Like I just bought a car at autoshow, why beg me to buy as I'm driving away? Also if I have not done a festival race for a while so the hell what.

Yep. Was hoping you'd just assume I went up and down the road drifting the whole way and retracing my skids, because I'm just THAT good. ;P
Does the same with smoke too. Got some decent rally shots but the smoke is going in the wrong directions.
Need to take some more rally shots. Its just too amazing to take in when you're in motion, but I've sucked at my attempts to capture it in stills.
For those who have the Zonda Cinque Roadster (this month's season pass car), give it a try in R1 class; it's remarkably civilized, responsive, and easy to handle while still being very competitive. I put mine in the club garage for anyone who wants to take it for a spin; I was hoping they would have put it in topless though, as that seems to be the theme in Horizon.
Not so much of a "glitch" as it just doesn't rewind the dynamic stuff.

Finally got around to starting the Rally stuff.. I have done the first three stages.. so far this is awesome.
edit: although some stages make it seem like the times are really random.. from pt to pt
edit2: I finished first on the first rally overall. second one was a kick in the ass. although i feel as if b cars is the sweet spot. I noticed the ai in the a class rally was not using the rally cars? uh?
