That would be a terrible idea, release a crap browser game to make people interested in a masterpiece ?

That seems like a plan to make everyone hate Bravely Default and ensure zero sales for the actual real game on 3DS

It is like trying to sell FF13-2 and FF13vs after FF13, will take a miracle to convince me to buy any more FF13 games

Does the title "Bravely Default" actually mean something? I mean the artwork is gorgeous and I love classic Final Fantasy so I'm sure I'd enjoy the game, but the title seems like nonsensical engrish wankery (see also: Infinite Undiscovery) that seems like it would be difficult to market.

Word of god says, aside from the title being a reference to the battle system, it also is supposed to mean, "have courage and renounce the promises and responsibilities that are expected of you."

They probably all hated FFIX too.

Only similarities I see are same artist and that Adventurer guy and his fox are in the game as save points and occasional merchants.

The Adventurer is also a bonus boss as well.

Then again, I barely remember 4HoL and didn't care too much for it in the long run.

If it was a hyped well known FF game, surly would seem strange to be so low

But this is a totally unknown new IP and hardly advertized or known at all in US/Europe

Now it is more about measuring the passion with which the few people that know about the game want it

And i think both their forum thread and this petition will be good indications for that

Found it 33$ in Play-asia, but the shipping would be around 20$ i think for California

I am sure it will not be available for long, it is a huge book and the price not that bad

There is another guide (smaller and different one, not as good in art pages) that is already depleted

The Type-0 case is another unbelievable one

That is what makes Bravely Default case so serious, Square has proven that will make moves beyond the wildest imagination sadly

And they have already done so in Bravely Default case, with confirmed zero plans to bring the game outside Japan in two interviews already


BTW, just bought the 480 pages Guide today from Otaku and it has shipped already, 40$ seems very nice for such an item and the art it includes

There are fast forward options in battle (2x and 4x speed I believe).

People do need to remember that unless it's a a huge IP we're probably going to be waiting quite awhile before we get confirmation of a localization, even if it's obvious to us. Though in recent years it's better to not assume the best, even Type-0 got felled by the PSP's shitty state.

I guess that was before they went total j-pop or whatever it is they are now. This game reminds me of when I used to care about their stuff, and actually made me buy a 3ds thinking it would come out. I am in the exact same situation

I found 3DS for 160$ and though that there was no way this game that reminds FF9 masterpiece will not come outside Japan

Read about All the Bravest too and bought my 3DS without a second though

Imagine the frustration when Square confirmed no plans for the game outside Japan and All the Bravest turned out to be a crappy "FF" title

It is a really frustrating situation, especially since Bravely Default could well be my 2ond best game of all time after FF9 (my top game of all time)

They DID announce they'd get us the demo, then they pulled that from us anyway.

(Admittedly it's safest to wait until the games you want are out period, as they can be canceled quite literally until they are out in the wild, and there's the greater likelihood of a game just being disappointing.)

1. it was 160$ offer, with a game

2. i wanted to play Zelda OOT 3D and have it portable

3. i was expecting Bravely Default to come to US/Europe, after "All the Bravest" name

4. I want to play Layton games, especially Azran

5. I know 3DS will get many JRPGs

6. A new Zelda is coming and is rumored to be closer to console Zeldas

7. A major JRPG from Xenogears developers is confirmed

BTW, i bought Uncained Blades and the game is amazing, very additictive customization/combat system, great 2D art, really amazing
