screens smells like bullshots

but the design of the monster are very good.

Agreed. All of those screens, except for the one with the purple spider thing look like bullshots. Colour me "cautiously optimistic".

Are those actual Vita shots? Looks really good, seems more action-y than *raspy voice* Soul Sacrifice.

I'm still a little surprised that none of the MH clones are being released for the 3DS. I wonder what's happening there. Are the developers afraid of MH4? But that didn't prevent them from releasing their games on PSP when new MH games were still being released on that plattform. Do they think that a lot of Vita owners are starved for MH-like experiences and that this audience is more worth following than the MH gamers on the 3DS (despite the difference in the user-base)? Or is Sony pushing devs to put these games on their plattforms?

Well. In any case, game looks good and I'm really interested in seeing what Omega Force is going to deliver in the genre.

PSP has more games of the genre than 3DS. People STILL play MH on the PSP in Japan.

Dynasty Warriors Next was actually really good (and looked great on Vita, native res, AA etc.) so there is hope for this... Unless it's as about as deep as a Dynasty Warriors game.

As a fan of most of Koei's games, I'm interested in seeing how this one will play out. And the fact that, unlike Strikeforce/Multi-Raid, there doesn't seem to any sign of Lu Bu or Zhao Yun in sight makes me happy.

I bet Lu Bu will be a secret boss like in first samurai warriors game

:O

Damn, I love Omega Force. :D

I'm really happy to see them tackling a different kind of jam again after Trinity. One of my favorite games this generation.

But there's Meng Huo right there!

This game basically got me at that oversized bow.

I'm glad to see that there were other fans of Trinity.

I like the look of the characters. Cautiously optimistic about this title.

Pls no. Even as much as I love Koei's games, I don't need to see Musou references in every action game of theirs.

DLC costumes and weapon skins are about as much as I would think is necessary for meeting that fanservice quotient.

Anyway, gematsu has an article up that provides a translation of the Famitsu one:

http://gematsu.com/2013/02/toukiden-pits-the-mononofu-against-the-demons

It will be preorder bonus skins knowing Koei at moment, maybe awakened state Zhao Yun from strikeforce or some others to fit the fantasy side. Maybe some Ninja Gaiden also due to the demon ideas.

sounds interesting cant wait for some footage

I don't really care for Monster Hunter and it's clones, but this actually looks pretty cool. The art and designs are different from the usual clones.

Four player PSP/Vita cross-play is cool too, but I'm guessing there's no online play? :\

Way more aesthetically pleasing than Soul Sacrifice. Color me curious.

Instinctive Action

The player takes on the role of one the soldiers known as “Mononofu.” The main character is a beginner, setting out to destroy the world-distorting demons and protect mankind. Using weapons like the long sword and bow and arrow, you’ll take a stand against the most ferocious demons. But the demon’s flesh is tough and you won’t be able to defeat them by attacking recklessly. Take them down by destroying them limb by limb, follow it by purification so that the life energy of the demons is cut off from the root source!
That explains the limb-hacking.

who remembers that other monster game Ni-Oh they was putting on ps3

just me ok

anyway I wonder if this ended up being Ni Oh
Nah this is omega force. Ni-Oh is currently being developed by team ninja and recently team ninja stated that the game has gotten past its alpha stage

I love the design of the monsters. Definitely looking forward to seeing gameplay. I wonder if it's at all acrobatic like the movement of the characters in the CG trailer.

Agreed, hopefully Omega Force will be able to pull off that high IQ with this game too. I'm looking forward to seeing a gameplay video.

As am I. I can deal with aliasing, but I hope the Vita version is as crystal clear as those shots.
