That happened immediately with Alex Jones. It was even on the Yahoo front page yesterday, including him using the doctored Family Guy thing as evidence.
It is amazing how easily he gets away with this stuff. He doesn't even have to wait for solid information. Just go all in immediately. It's a bombing, therefore conspiracy.

Watching CNN, they were interviewing a guy who was released from the hospital (still had a nail in his neck, too dangerous to remove) and he had to bring up the fact they weren't sure about paying the hospital bills (his g/fs brothers were still in the hospital, both lost a leg)

Another reminder how messed up our health care system is. The last thing these victims should be thinking about is medical bills.

Yeah, the last thing these victims need is financial ruin. I also wonder why Anderson didn't ask about the white bag(s?) near the mailbox since the guy was talking about being on the other side of it and remembering everything.

That is scary. Imagine the bill! Agreed, it should be last thing on their mind. Sadly, in America, health care isn't cheap and somebody has to pay.

Went on a run outside the perimeter. Lots of barricades, cops, heavily armed cops, national guard, humvees, and a whole lotta news crews and their vans.

I believe the biggest memorial is on the Boylston barricade on the Common side. Tons of people were there.

Also ran into a crowd watching Anderson Cooper report.

I wish the news would stop using the term “Lone Wolf”, it makes these despicable people sound like badasses. How about “Lone Dick” instead?

Since when does being a "badass" have anything to do with being a decent human being? "Badass" contains the words "bad" and "ass", FFS.

I hope this one gets resolved quickly. As an Atlantan during the Olympics, it sucked pretty bad to feel like we'd never know who really did it, and then feel like the guy would never be caught.

You knew right away. It was Richard Jewell.

That must have been something else to witness. Hopefully you're not in a bad (sad) mood now.

I'm certain lawmakers in Mass. will push for a bill in Congress to help the victims financially...paying for medical bills, rehabilitation, access to other health care services etc. The rehabilitation is going to be costly especially for people who have lost limbs.

They just said on FoxNews that both suspects were wearing dark clothing, black/bluish. One was wearing a white hat, and a bag that one of them was carrying possibly had an obvious protrusion for the top of the pressure cooker.

Sounds like that pick of those two guys.

I guess that's them then.

I don't think over the course of human history has someone been called a badass derisively.

Straight-up villains are called badasses all the damned time. Think Darth Maul and one-percenters.

Hannintys guy said that. Went back and looked at the picture on the previous page and yup, that's gotta be the people the FBI are looking for.

Not sure I believe it myself, unless of course there's more pictures we've not seen - the bag he's wearing has a main compartment and then the smaller compartment at the front (with an individual zip) so the protrusion people are saying is the top of the pressure cooker could be anything at all which is creating those folds in the fabric, it could be a bottle, anything in that small front pocket that's big enough to stick out.

It could be a tin of Skoal or tobacco dip. Of course, there is the chance the image they are discussing is something totally different that just shares these similarities. Plus, these two are seen walking around 2hrs before the bombing. Kind of a large gap considering other reports suggest the second bomb was placed just prior to it going off, according to those citing the store security footage.

Have they released the video?

Not as far as I know. The news report someone posted where they showed the pictures of those 2 guys didn't tie it to that video at all though. Just said the police wanted to talk to them. Since a lot of people likely sent those photos to the police, that isn't really surprising

fox news just basically confirmed that the pictures that were given to the police today were photos of those two guys (white hat and blue jacket)

so it's progressed from asking the public to identify those guys to distributing photos to law enforcement. i'm not sure if that transition is meaningful or not

And the video should be from the 2nd site, right? Which was by the mailbox. Where the pictures above are from the 1st site (near finish line).

I'm not saying The Internet won, but I am saying that the odds for it may have improved.

Except for those law-enforcement/security dudes. That was a fail from the moment it was posted.

The police are distributing those pictures, yes, (that's 100% confirmed -- the pictures from the police were shown on the news) my point was that it doesn't seem to be related to today's big development

I'm not saying The Internet won, but I am saying that the odds for it may have improved.

That remains to be seen. For now, it seems to be an internet->tv->internet thing. The internet found the pictures and gave them to the police. TV reported that they have these pictures and are looking into them. Internet picks up on TV reporting on these pictures as if it was an independent development

They got evidence from the second bomb site. All the stuff everyone is looking at is from the first bomb site. So no telling.

I'd say so. Saw this on a conspiracy forum:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=R_AYbNz-uS4

Skull cap guy looks to be holding one of these:
Radiation Detector on Amazon

Another poster(who claimed to be ex Coast Guard) said it looked like his bulky bag was a "Rad Pack", used to test air/radiation to determine if there was a dirty bomb set off.

Makes you wonder how often such security would be present at popular events?

It's not a fail, maybe the way it was reported, but it's simply a process of elimination.

I'm saying the odds improved! As in if there were odds in this, this most recent news would make it pricier to bet on The Internet, no question.

The problem is the style of the bag, it could either be;
1 - There is nothing in the front compartment (where the smaller zip is) and so the pressure cooker device in the large, main compartment is simply poking through both the main bag and the front pocket, or
2 - There are normal items in the main compartment and there is a small item in the front pocket as well, which is giving the impression there is something big in the bag, because the item in the small front pocket is pushing against the fabric.

It's pretty hard to differentiate the two IMO.
I don't really buy the theories myself, if you're going to walk around in huge crowds, full of cameras and whatnot, you don't make it perfectly obvious you're carrying a huge device in your bag - it would have been concealed more effectively.

I highly recommend watching Anderson Cooper tonight if you can...he interviews Steve Byrne, one of the guys who was (luckily) on the other side of the mailbox. His friends weren't so lucky...he said 4-5 of them all lost legs (a pair of brothers both lost a leg).

He said another friend had 70 nails in his leg.

here's the clip: http://ac360.blogs.cnn.com/

so here's the description of a suspect tweeted earlier by cbs news:
Man sought as possible suspect is WHITE MALE, wearing white baseball cap on backwards, gray hoodie and black jacket.

no photos of his hat on backwards, though

Yeah, post-911 I imagine these a few of these guys are stationed at every large scale public gathering.

Now the next time I'm at a popular event and I see a lot of security I'll get worried:p

Only time in my life I thought I was next to a terrorist, as soon as I exited the subway wagon I was in I had never seen so much security at a metro station. Always suspected I was right next to a guy doing a test run. Even another passenger was obviously worried about the guy.

You think you'd contact security, but there's this uneasy feeling of not wanting to look like an idiot, and not wanting to bother an innocent (or making him feel like people thought he was a terrorist just because he is a Muslim). I was certain I had to tell security, and yet I couldn't bring myself to do it, rightfully or not, I'll never know, other than nothing happened.

"BAG - NO BAG" could have a pretty simple explanation. He put his bag on the ground because he didnt feel like carrying it while watching the race.

Yes I think he is holding it in front of him. I think the pictures were not taken at the time of the explosion nor close to it either, so I doubt he would have left it an hour or more before then.
