Judging from the state of the OS on PS3 it's somewhere between zero and nothing.Makes me wonder what % of GPU processing power is locked away for non-gaming functions. How did that work in the days PS360?
Of course it is. That's why the spent the entire reveal conference showing off its social media features.
You guys buy into the PR that you want to believe.
Microsoft = Reveal additional features then games
Bad.
Sony = Reveal games then additional features
Good.
Both = Games + Additional Features

Doesn't that thing detects the pad's position? I doubt it'll be optional.

Both consoles will play games; one is downplaying the other aspects because the other got mauled for playing up theirs.
MS reveal - all about entertainment, etc
PS4 reveal - all about the games
E3 MS - about the games, some entertainment talk
E3 Sony - about the entertainment, some games talk
Some secret event we didn't know about I guess.I don't understand.
Ermmm, they didn't
Yeah because you don't do the same on the opposite side right?
...
It's sad that it's got to the point where it has to be noted
Oh, good. I must have imagined all those video sharing segments then.

The thing is, MS started damage controlling it all that way POST-Xbone reveal. Before their big event they were all "witness the revolution in entertainment!!!!!!", yet what they showed was partly either embarassingly bad, full of empty buzz words or just not interesting/even usable for a majority of gamers (and partly not even real, i.e. the voice recognition stuff), with ridiculous hyperbole like "omg never before seen revolutionary Skype" as if that's something new. They weren't all "okay, we'll get the bad stuff out of the way first", they did say there would not be a focus on games but they still thought what they'd show would blow our minds.I agree with the last part but not the first. MS said they wanted to get the boring stuff out of the way first so that they can focus on games at E3. A billion dollars invested on games but everyone's focus is on the features that MS didn't really want to showcase at a video games convention.

Can somebody explain this billion dollars MS is spending on games posters keep mentioning in here. Seems unbelievable to spend on 15 games are next gen cost that crazy or just money spent to secure 3rd party exclusives.

Is it not funny how someone has to state the obvious in this day and age about a game console?
Like saying that it is for games and gamers?
HAVE WE REALLY COME TO THIS
I blame microsoft and the Wii (paritally)

That auto-video recording stuff is used for GAMES. It's not something that's trying to compete with your gaming time like watching TV, it's a feature that will bring a new dimension to many people's GAMING, when they can so easily share funny/cool moments or triumphs during their gaming sessions, instead of needing modded hardware or expensive video capturing devices to do it.Oh, good.
