Rumor: Destiny of Spirits is for PS4 by From Software

That's rather antithetical. Demon's souls wasn't special until it was. Any other game can be the same or even better. Can't say until one has actually played it or, at least, seen it in action

The point I'm making is that if it's not From making it, it's one of Sony's western studios. And honestly, none of them save for Naughty Dog have released anything that's BETTER than Demon's Souls. I don't expect them to start now.

Final Fantasy : The Spirits Within rebooted as a game for psmobile

...............

Well it was first touted to be Destiny of Spirits by Bungie for Vita. :p

Yeah, definitely not better than a new Souls game. :p

Except maybe LittleBigPlanet, depending on my mood and who I'm slapping around in multiplayer.

Also the last bullet-point for Destiny has a period, while all of the DoS bullet points have no end-punctuation, and some of them could get away with being full sentences with end-punctuation.

(I'm sorry! I'm nit-picking to see if I can find anything that looks out of place or could signify this being fake.)

Believe it or not, the West is capable of producing good rpgs too.

We'll know next week, but for now its fun to let the imagination run wild. its not like we stand to lose anything. I've been waiting for years for an E3 reveal to fade in with something close to the original Demon's Souls theme blaring. It probably wont happen this year either, but its fun to dream.

Isn't the true souls team working on Dark Souls 2? From Software or not, there was a specific core of staff that made the series what it was no?

Just remember - the blurb about Destiny might not be a bulleted list. It might just be a blurb. These documents aren't always consistent - I know it all too well, I've written one before for a hospital exhibitor sheet for a major health care trade show.

The copy is provided by the guest. If Bungie only provided one paragraph of text, that's all it'll show. Won't be a bulleted list.

Not all of them. Hidetaka Miyazaki isn't involved in Dark Souls 2, nor are the Sony Japan Studio people who worked on Demon's Souls.

You could be right, but I would think it would be italicized like the block of text for Destiny of Souls then.

Those details are arranged so carefully to be a DS fan wishlist that I think it has to be fake, especially since no one seems to have a source on it. I also don't see From working with Sony as a publisher any more after what happened with Demon's Souls.

Not necessarily. It's all down to who wrote the copy and how they wanted it presented. The only things that are guaranteed to be consistent are the headers.

Man, we are both nitpicking like crazy, aren't we?

Yeah, but that's not a bad thing! There's got to be people who scrutinize this kind of info, and people who scrutinize those scrutinies. Only because it's more likely that we can find some sort of evidence to prove something one way or another if we do so, and there has to be people who keep other people in check so everyone doesn't immediately scream "fake" out at anything.

My understanding is that Dark Souls II has a largely new team, while Hidetaka Miyazaki (director of Demon's Souls and Dark Souls) and others are working on a separate, undisclosed title.

Same. I think Sony refusing to publish it in the West, only to have From shop a similar game to an outside publisher resulting in worldwide success, was the final nail on the coffin for a future Sony/From partnership. His new title is probably something unrelated, and hopefully brand new.

Description sounds too much like a Souls' game for me to believe this is real. Why would From Software want to have 3 IP under its belt that have basically the same bulletpoints? :p

But if it is real, hey, bring it!

I wish it was real. Kagari or not, I just don't see Sony having any games that wow me on Monday. If there's no Demon's Souls 2, it's all up to Square.

And Square's been really bad at that kind of thing lately.

Ah, hell. Now I'm all depressed again. Thanks, Obama Sony.

I don't blame Sony, to be honest. I remember the TGS reveal thread, absolutely everybody shit on it, and said it looked like an awful generic game

The game got popular through cult status and word of mouth, very unusual product in that way

They might also have a strong creative relationship with Sony Japan, even if the Western branches showed no faith

"take xxxxxxx anywhere with vita remote play functionality"

As far as i know the announced remote play feature only works on the same network, i wonder if there is an actual vita client, or simply over internet play?

What PS4 game would From be working on then? They were on the developers list for PS4.

Armored Core PS4. A PS4 port of Dark Souls 2. Plenty of things.

That being said, I don't think From hates Sony. Namco swooped in on them when they were shopping Dark Souls around, it wasn't anything malicious. The game was still a PS3 exclusive in Japan.

I don't think those lists mean much...tri-Ace was listed too :(

They do have a new IP or something coming though, right?

They already said they're not doing a next gen version of it (barring PC) right now.

You're probably right, but we've heard that song and dance before. I still wouldn't be all that surprised to see a PS4/XB1 version in 2014.

Could be anything. Being on the dev list doesn't mean you're doing an exclusive or being published by Sony.

Well of course. I could see From working on an Armored Core for PS4/X1 right now. Who knows what will happen with Dark Souls II despite them saying that they are focused on current gen.

My thoughts exactly.

Not that this means anything, but Sony has been consistent in presenting the title as Driveclub on all official documents.

Really?

They all use DriveClub. I can't find any official documents, but these all either come from Sony or are quoting Sony PR releases as far as I can tell.

The Last Guardian trailer leaking a week before E3 took a lot out of the conference reveal

If this is true I can wait another two days :p but I think it's fake

Yes. Let us be sane in our minds and spoiler free going into the live conference. The megatons will have a much better impact this way.

If this is fake its pretty impressive the amount of effort that was put into the description, it atleast reads like it could be legit. I dont typically have much faith in "insiders" though so who knows.

We have dark souls2 coming why confuse people focus on dark souls 2 then show demon souls 2

Because Dark Souls 2 is a current-gen game and this game (if it's real) is a next-gen title. And it's PS4-exclusive. I can see why Sony would do it. They need an exclusive RPG.

It wouldn't be confusing if Demon's Souls 2 is for Vita. Then it won't piss FromSoftware off to go head on against Dark Souls 2.

Demon's Souls 2, if it exists, will have From involved, regardless of which platform it's on. Sony is not going to develop it without them - they can't. Their Japanese studios wouldn't be able to pull it off even if they wanted to. Sony Japan is worthless.

They have that rumored Guerrilla WRPG. Only problem is that they're an unproven studio when it comes to WRPG's. The more RPG's the better though.
