Shiido is going to be so screwed when
Origami comes with that high class tech weapon and messes up his date. :lol

Kotori was nice. Still Kurumi for the win

Kurumi > Kotori = Tohka >> Mana >>> Yoshino >>>>>> some random character > another random character >>>>>>> Origami.

Man, this sure was something. Premise is good and there's this strong level of bro-ness which I'm looking forward to. I'd actually assert that it's good in general aside from the art and animation. Normally this would be a bad thing but it gives this show an unexpected layer of hilarity that only serves to enhance the viewing experience.

Keiji is Sengoku Bara *Ba dum tsss*

Glad they didn't wuss out and have the kiss take place off screen. Looking forward to next season.

Hoshi no Umi no Amuri 2

Okay, let's get this show on the road. Stream of consciousness, BEGIN.

Characters introducing themselves to each other. Did that girl just salute with her hair?

That metal...panda...thing looks kind of hollow and creepy. I think I prefer the rabbitcomputer.

Aaaaaaaand they're flying straight into the core of the GIANT OMINOUS BLACK EGGFORTRESS. Nothing can possibly go wrong with this plan. But hey, if there's air...

Yacchaou yo~ Yacchaou yo~ Yacchaou yo~

Mamiko Noto is acting awfully suspicious. Does she know something she's not letting on?

Something is glowing under eyepatch-girl's eyepatch. Of course it is, everybody knows eyepatches are for hiding dark secrets and special powers. Anybody could tell you that. Ask Takanashi Rikka.

And now she's hiding inside a metal box of some kind because she's scared. I guess phasing through things is a useful power when you want to be alone. She took the rabbitcomputer with her though. Why would she do that. Awesome rabbitcomputer should be freeeeeeee!

And now there are spikes flying everywhere. This hardly seems surprising. Everything flies everywhere in this show.

Oh hey, transformation sequence again! It's pretty lewd. But all her clothes are folded up neatly so it's okay. I think? This whole HUMAN SHIELD thing is pretty OP, especially since all the projectiles seem to fly straight back and destroy the things that shot them.

Aaaaaaaand the proud tradition of SUDDEN GIRL-ON-GIRL KISSING ACTION continues. Though really, we can narrow it down to just girl-on-Amuri. And actually this time it's more like robot-that-looks-like-a-girl-on-Amuri. Can it really be a kiss if it doesn't even have a face? Silly me, of course it can. It had the right sound effect. That's what matters, right?

Oh, it's some kind of weapon created from Amuri's own cells so she can't reflect its attacks. That's awfully convenient. But it stripped down Amuri's crazy ribbon outfit to even lewder levels so it's TOTALLY OKAY WITH ME. Good work, creepy robot girl thing. Can we be friends?

OUCH that looked like it hurt.

And now it looks like eyepatch-girl is seeing hallucinations of her sister(?) because I have no idea why. Her sister has the glowing eye thing going on though.

I'm sorry, Amuri, your song is nice and all, but when the lyrics are all "hana ga saita yo" I can't help but think of a different song that is decidedly less, er, pleasant in tone.

SAITEITAYOOOOOOO

*ahem*

Where was I.

So it looks like the hollow panda general thing isn't actually real, it's just a part of Suzu's imagined world that she uses as an escape from reality? Have I got that straight? That's a little unnerving. Is Amuri the only one not having weird hallucinations here?

And now Suzu is singing her own version of Amuri's song, which is about birds instead of flowers so now I can stop associating it with HANAGASAITAYO.

Also the animation style in Suzu's imaginary world is pretty cool, it's all kind of...pastel-sketch-esque? Or something. It's colourful and pretty. Is this really all CG? There's gotta be some serious magic at work here.

Aaaaaaaand now Suzu is transforming as well! She doesn't get much of a transformation sequence, though. Floating pantsu aside. ...Oh, I see, she doesn't need a transformation sequence because her transformed outfit is EVEN MORE LEWD than Amuri's stripped-down ribbon suit. Dear God she's basically wearing nothing but a few strategically placed strips of paper. The complaining, I am doing none of it.

Oh, the lewdness isn't done yet. Now there's some kind of field reversing the girls' abilities(????) for reasons I do not understand, and the result of this is that their practically-naked bodies are now stuck together, front-to-front. Is this what we call symmetrical docking?

Oh and now all the enemy robots are sticking to them as well. Inevitable chaos ensues. Except that it's impossible for chaos to "ensue" in this show because that would imply that chaos wasn't already happening. So I guess it would be more accurate to say the chaos levelled up? Either way, it made Mamiko Noto say OH MY GAHD. That's got to be worth something.

So now Amuri and Suzu are flying around the ominous fortress of doom with a massive chain of robots trailing behind them and then everything spontaneously goes KABOOM because giant explosions are a thing. Meanwhile eyepatch-girl is still just hiding away inside her metal cube. Seriously, girl, we all know you're going to end up transforming in the end as well, so you're gonna have to stop acting all shy at some point. Ridiculously lewd outfits are the in thing, didn't you know?

Meanwhile Amuri and Suzu are going all "DAISUKI" at each other in the midst of all the explosion and destruction. Clearly they have their priorities straight. Loli yuri takes precedence over silly little things like collapsing space fortresses.

And now Mamiko Noto is acting vaguely evil. Creepy dude is grinning in a just-as-planned sort of way, so I can only presume bad things are happening, but honestly I can't make much sense of—

Oh, the fortress is on a collision course for Earth and all of humanity is doomed. That's probably not good.

ENDING THEME oh my god there are tiny happy Suzus flying everywhere this is wonderful.

WHAT IS THIS ANIME.

Short Japanese trailer is out. It reveals more about the plot and actually shows the main characters.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kh959s_xj90

I heard a high-pitched "Onee-san, onee-san!"

Japan animu delivers once again.

Really not liking how things look. Also I know this trailer doesn't really show anything about the plot, but it doesn't seem to be all that similar to the original story. Which is a total shame.

I reject our CG overlords.

It kinda disappoints me that the Utena OP remains the same the whole way through, but the awesome first ED gets replaced with an inferior one.

What is the name of this show? All these gifs and images look incredible.

Gifuu Dooudou: Kanetsugu to Keiji. It's the must-watch show of the season right now, and not just because the only current alternative is Dog Scissors.

Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann – Final Impressions

Where the hell do I even begin?!?

First off, this show is kind of cruel, in a good way. In the first few episodes, you have a lot of fun. The characters are enjoyable and something always happens in every episode. There is no such thing as boredom with this show. However,
it lures you in making you think that it’s going to be like that, but as soon as Kamina dies, that’s when things take a big turn. The show, while still having some of its fun atmosphere, begins to slowly delve into some really deep and thought provoking topics.

Story:
I really liked how the theme of evolution was portrayed in this show. In the beginning, everything was a big wasteland for everyone to explore, and the only thing they had were the mechs. But as time went on in the show, everything slowly became bigger. First they were underground, then they went to the surface, then the sea, then the sky, and by the end they were at the far reaches of multidimensional galaxies fighting off some kind of god. They even put some thought provoking philosophical and scientific theories into this. Yeah! In a show with beast people and bird people and whatever.

Characters: Just awesome.
Kamina was the most enjoyable character even after his death. The show really made a good memory out of him by turning him into the driving force that sealed everyone’s victory. Simon is your traditional weakling into mega hero, but they really executed it perfectly here. Seeing him take all of the lessons he learned from Kamina and use them to inspire others in the end was really enjoyable to watch. The show knew what themes to focus on and it never strayed away from that. Yoko is best girl though. That’s all that needs to be said about her.

But even the supporting and minor characters are able to throw a little heart into the mix. The show suddenly turns into Fire Emblem near the end with some of the characters unfortunately meeting their end in battle, but they still leave a great impression.

The Music: ROW, ROW FIGHT THE POWA!! Couldn’t resist. The music playing during the battles really put the show’s emphasis on fighting spirit to good level.
I also can’t name many shows that play their opening theme during really badass moments.

Final Verdict: Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann is beautiful. It’s another one of my favourites. I would even go as far as to say it’s better than Madoka Magica. Madoka Magica may be one of anime’s supreme world leaders, but Gurren Lagann is a god of anime.

I HATE ANIMALS
BECAUSE I KILLED MY DOG

And the level 7 test... lol. HI we're here! GREAT! Take this, just don't tell anyone.

But oh man the lengths that Hadzuki goes to fix a problem
She nearly killed herself to heal a bunny that got hurt because Ms My Dog is Dead left the window open a bit for it to escape and it was ambushed by a cat. She was later banned from magic for half a month because she broke the law, but she also got off easy with a cold since the Queen protected her.

This show.

nice ending, and a fine show overall, although it makes episode 3 seem even more silly than it already was.

Since there's a good quality version of the Rozen Maiden PV out now, I'd like to pull out my favorite background from it:

I like the overall composition, particularly with the slanted shadows, and the look of the posters. The parchment art style is appealing.

Hmmm. Interesting art direction. Not THAT different but subtly.

Steins;Gate part 1 PAL bluray in 2 weeks! :D

nice cover

Oooh man that cover! Wish Kurisu was on EVERY cover :D

I never watched Utena.

Hmmm, what to do...

The answer is obvious. Avoid at all costs!

I still need to get the US one. I bought Part 2 on a whim once and I should probably watch this show.

Yes, you should. Its not mind meltingly stupid anime. Its quite captivating stuff. Every time I watch it I have to marathon it. Sooooo good.

Accel World episode 22
this show just completely fell apart around episode 15, the 2 side story episodes about Kuroyukihime have been the only good thing since.

KYH is the glue that holds it together. Thats why shes amazing.
