Yeah because 99% of real life racing takes place during the night.Personaly i think good phisics and great collision detection are more important.

My opinion PS4 pretty graphics.XB1 pretty graphics and great online support.XB1 8 Years infront when it comes to online play.

there are whole series of racing games dedicated to just racing at night, like the Shutoko Battle series. It's definitely something a lot of people want

Looks almost identical to sleeping dogs on pc.

I would highly doubt any payments from MS. There are anti-trust implications if MS pay off a bunch of publishers and collude to hobble their competitor's product. I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Heck, their investors won't be too happy about it, as they want the Xbox One to be profitable this time around.

I mean, it's pretty clear that the PS4 is going to be the superior console specs wise. If there's anyone Xbox fans should be mad it it's Microsoft themselves. They shat the bed now Microsoft has to lie (lay?) on it. I'm still getting both, I'm not planning on missing out on exclusives, but it's pretty clear Sony went out to build a games console first and foremost.

Like gaming_noob said earlier, it's Microsoft's fault for following Nintendo's vision as well as putting TV & other features first, & gaming second.

ok not 100% fixed ..but pretty much ..si

in fact is what xbox one use

and 4 move engine (that ppl seem to forget) r there just for this reason

It's always funny to me when people who don't understand anything about the hardware make posts about the hardware as if it's fact.

lmao

lol watching someone pick out only things that they think make a game look bad is always funny.

How about ship crashing on the beach scene from Ryse's SP? Come on, this is silly. Ryse looks amazing, and, no, even a bad looking MP section can't change that.

Well, that's the rub. From the gladiator trailer I saw yesterday, there wasn't a good looking gameplay section. Though they felt comfortable releasing it as a means of showing off the game's combat... so there ya go. But yeah, that's easily the worst of it. Ryse isn't the best looking Xbox One game to me honestly. It's looking like it needs a lot more time in the oven that it's just not going to have. Really clunky and unpolished. That water simulation is early PS3 stuff. Embarrassing from Crytek.

Please tell me that's been hideously compressed.

Even then, the water...

It is a poor quality clip, really really poor but Ryse has never actually "looked" good to anyone with a discerning eye. The animations, facial and otherwise have been poor from the get go for example but i held back comment till this later build in hope things might have improved. In this case things appear to have gotten worse (or the negatives are just more glaringly obvious in the latest build)

One can still clearly see Ryse's kinect/360 roots shining through

Gladiator mode
http://www.gamespot.com/gamescom/ryse-son-of-rome-gladiator-mode-trailer-6413347/

The gameplay is kinda sad to watch... the character animation were ugly as hell.

Yeesh. I think the worst part is the "Not Actual Gameplay" disclaimer at the beginning of the video. This is supposed to be a target rendered video? And it still looks this bad?... At least Forza seems to be doing things right. Ryse continues to disappoint. Hope the next showing fixes a lot of these issues.

dafuq you smokin breh

There is quite a gulf between Ryse cut scenes and game play.

I keep seeing this problem, so I am doing to mention it.

It suffers from some basic bad art design examples. This gif is a good example. The artists do not understand feature size of the texture elements. The ripple sizes are too large. They also have problems with wall textures having too large of feature size, and thus make the game look like dolls in a toy set. The overuse of focus effects don't help this either. Same feature size problem existed with the boat fire feature size as well.

The game play looks weak, but that is not really a performance question.

What ? Erm... ok ? And I guess Nintendo is also still mean to Indie devs ?

I've said it before, but I'll say it again. Isn't it pretty obvious where the budget and majority of the work is going for Ryse? It sure as hell isn't in the Gladiator mode.

There's a reason Gladiator mode looks worse than the E3 footage, and because it's not getting the kind of attention that the singleplayer seems to be getting. It isn't just noticeable from the sheer difference in production value. A simple glance at the level and art design will tell you that much.

It is embarrassing. Crytek sucks at showing off their own game. I said precisely this just yesterday when I first saw the new gladiator mode stuff.

On a classical system you have a RAM pool and a VRAM pool that are physically speperated. Copying data from one pool to the other creates latency. The GPU is very good ad hiding latency. What it needs most is high bandwidth. The CPU on the other hand is extremely sensitive to latency. The CPU needs extremely low latency to work efficiently. Copying data from the RAM (CPU) to the VRAM (GPU) creates latency, but that's okay for the GPU. Copying data from RAM (CPU) to VRAM (GPU) and back to the RAM (CPU) creates even more latency. It's too much for the CPU. The copying alone takes longer than the computation wich makes this roundtrip highly ineffective.

Xbox360 and older APUs have a unified RAM. This means that the RAM is no longer physically seperated, but even though it's the same RAM chips, the system still distincts between memory partition for the differenct processors. You still need to copy the data between CPU partition and GPU partition, but this will be much more efficient than copying it between physically seperated pools. But it's still too much latency for a CPU, GPU, CPU roundtrip.

PS4 will have hUMA wich means that you no longer need a distinction between CPU partition and GPU partition. Both processors can use the same pieces of data at the same time. You don't need to copy stuff and this allows for completely new algorithms that utilize CPU and GPU at the same time. This is interesting since a GPU is very strong, but extremely dumb. A CPU is extremely smart, but very weak. Since you can utilize both processors at the same time for a single task you have a system that is extremely smart and extremely strong at the same time.

It will allow for an extreme boost for many, many algorithms and parts of algorithms. On top of that it will allow for completely new classes of algorithms. This is a game changer.

Thanks for the breakdown, very interesting.

Infamous gif is pretty but after five minutes of playing a game I usually stop caring. I'm not one of those people who goes around looking at ground textures and shit when I play.
