Square Enix trademarks Theatrhythm Final Fantasy Curtain Call

And they made him a Lord of Cinder. Not for virtue, but for might. Such is a lord, I suppose. But here I ask. Do we have a sodding chance?
What exactly might this be? I'm all up for Theathrythm II...

The specific mentions of optical discs and game software lead me to believe it's either a Wii U game or possibly a Kinect/Move game... or just an OST Blu-Ray for the first game.

Personally hoping for a Wii U game.

Given the title I'm hopelessly thinking of a Game of the Year Edition of sorts with all DLC included or something like that.

I don't believe it will happen though.

I wish they would do a SE game like this with music from all series they could seriously milk that with dlc forever and I'd buy.

Sounds like a potential "Final Mix" kind of release with added songs & other improvements, don't really get a sequel vibe from the name.

Hopefully no one expects this on the 3DS.

It's like lately you've been there for every single set of Square-Enix news, no matter how remotely related. Just standing there. With a hammer. To smash our idealism to pieces. Tiny tiny pieces.

But you're sadly right, I fully expect this to be a mobile tile. ;_;

Sales weren't hot in Japan.

Maybe would be more plausible if it was a re-release with the DLC on-cart? Minimal dev work needed for something like that.
Didn't Theatrhythm sell out its initial shipments? That doesn't necessarily sound like some unprecedented BOMBAH that quarantees no additional releases in the franchise (especially if this is just a re-release with new songs, like the name would suggest). Sure, it wasn't a million seller like some mainline release, but it was developed by a small dev and obviously the budget wasn't the hugestestestestest in the world, so I'm fairly positive they were probably decently happy with the sales.

Curtain Call makes it sound like a sort of rerelease to me, like a GOTY version, rather than a sequel.

Probably mobile though, as we all know deep inside :/

LATIN, MATRIPEDICABUS, DO YOU SPEAK IT
Actually, now that I think about it, Curtain Call is a very fitting title for Square Enix products in general.

It could just signify their last hurrah on traditional handhelds as they go full-on mobile!

Now we just await Atlus going mobile.

Nah, a curtain call implies they did something to deserve recognition and accolades.

the Sequel is more appropriate because god knows they fucked everything up this time.

Curtain Call sounds like a free2play concept. You can play the first 5 hours for free without the curtain falling down, after that you have "call" the maintenance group and pay them extra hours to keep the curtain up while you play.

There's nothing wrong if this is a mobile game.
Think it'll be as good as DMC 2?

God I love your new tag!
Yeah, the mod who gave me this tag was quite creative that day :p

So this weekend:
