i don't have a problem with people celebrating a wii version. i just have a problem with the people harrasing others with "bitter tears" comments.

Well, they start with their "I expected a proper next-gen game" bullshit.

ok, that conference (and the thread hereupon) was fuckin EXCITE. on this note - bedtime.

ps: ready your asses for pummeling by sonic.

so with Dr. mario and Bomberman hitting WiiWare as oppposed to VC, can we expect online?

Probably. Seems rather silly to release them without it.
But then again, it's Hudson and Nintendo....

Just a quick question here. What exactly happens if PS3 ends up with their own MH game within the year? The series means nothing to me, but a lot of you are convinced this is a killing blow to Sony. Did they even confirm that there won't be a PS3 version? I'm really failing to understand the logic here.

Maybe I shouldn't use the L word around here.

Bitter tears comments are mainly just replies to the people coming out saying how lame MH3 is gonna be because its on Wii now and how much better it was sooo gonna be when it was only on the PS3. :|

Well, now that it's over...

The conference was decent. Better than any of their recent conferences, for sure, but that doesn't make it exceptional. Fire Emblem DS was an excellent announcement, and there were two noteworthy third party Wii games announced... but that was it.

People are really overreacting.

Thinking about it, looks Monster Hunter will be exclusive, doubt they would produce a multi version for the three consoles, it would be a mess and the "Tri" makes it the official one. Is sad but we will have to deal with it.

Is there any keyboard support for Wii?

the OP mentions MKDS... is there a MKDS sequel in the works or what? or is it a typo for MK wii?

this isn't the ps2-age anymore. ps3 is more than capable of bringing a quality online experience, and it's a shame if monster hunter stays in the past.

Dude, get out of the thread if it's going to cause this much strife....wait, stay, that's what makes threads like this worth it, the implosions. Personally, I can give a fuck either way as it's my wife and kids that are the fans, but the breakdowns are priceless. Bom zal droppen indeed

I honestly don't see how NoA will top this... Thunder stolen.
Maybe Nintendo of Japan left half their game announcements out so that...
...yeah, you're right. NOA sent to die confirmed. They might get to announce a token game like F-Zero Wii--which would be mind-blowingly awesome, mind you, but still only one game in the end.

Why wouldn't they? It was initially announced as a PS3 title and still no one knows the status of that title.

I think it's got more to do with Nintendo's past conference experiences. Who on earth was looking forward to this thing at all?

I was! :D I told you all it wasn't a retailer meeting. I already stated my pros and cons, and meltdowns are always fun to watch. :lol

Of course if you're in ethelred's case and probably aren't looking forward to Brawl I can see how this was probably underwhelming.

Depends on who gets the better game (not only graphically).

But probably the Wii game would triple the PS3 one in sales.

It is apparently clear some of you don't own a 360 and don't really see how much convenient and streamlined the online play experience is on the 360. It's not even about being a 360 fanboy...excuse me but I also have a Wii. Bitter tears my ass!

It's from a hardware spec/functionality standpoint. Wii loses in all aspects in terms of online play, and that's what I'm saying doesn't make sense. I mean let's say I came up with a game that requires a touchpad and a stylus, but I won't release it on the DS, I'll put it on the PSP and release special touchpad and stylus peripherals for it! Genius huh? To me, that's how ridiculous Monster Hunter 3 going to Wii is like.

Apart from that, it makes sense. Wii is the biggest selling console, so yeah obvious choice.

Ah well....we'll probably never see an easy-to-navigate Monster Hunter ever (it was also shit in PS2 and PSP by the way so I was hoping they'd fix that with a 360 version, but nooooo...).

I still want to play with you DCharlie. Will you get this? Probably i will import it and check for myself but I am not really excited, however, Monster Hunter is Monster Hunter and would love to be in a good group.

nope - i`ll probably get the X360 version, failing that the PS3 version, failing that the Wii version :)

a few months in when the majority of people playing where hardcore into the game, keyboards were common place so there was quite a bit of chatting.

it didn`t pick up on the Japanese machines - we all used it before the game, but that was it. I stuck about 300 hours into the game too :D

DS Demo Station was announced two fucking years ago.

Indeed, people have weak memory it seems.

It was a good conference, but nothing really amazing at all. Fire Emblem DS? Sonic? are you telling me you didn´t expect those at some point?

But probably the Wii game would triple the PS3 one in sales.

And? is that a good thing? Mobile gaming moves ton of sales, what about if we left our dedicatedconsoles and embrace our mobile overlords?

Doubt PS3 or 360 gets a MH anytime soon after this. But the potential was much bigger on those platforms for sure.

Aokage

Pretty nice guy (apart from the blue shadows thing...)

Just woke up...

MH3 for the wii? is it using the framework engine?

The screenshot is entirely PS2 (MH2) assets, so I doubt it, although Capcom's latest programmer recruitment page still lists MH3 as using MT Framework. Perhaps that project will get a new name, or be put on the back burner as a potential MH4...

Wouldn't there be a danger of fracturing the fanbase if they had to pay for online play though when its been free for how long now?

Now you're going too far. Fire Emblem DS is an amazing announcement and really the highlight of the event. We've been waiting for this for three years.

It's been free on PSP, but PS2 versions have monthly connection fees via KDDI phone services.

And not to defend the 360 or anything, but when I pay for Xbox Live's subscription, I don't feel like I am paying online fees for just game X, because it is accessible to ALL games I play. What I found annoying was that Sony had individualized fees like what they did with PS2. FFXI, MonHan, all separate...that was really annoying and for me, I didn't last long because it was too much like PC MMORPGs with their monthly subscription system.

And the option was what? A more beautiful 360 and PS3 version than only a handful of japanese guys would have played, leaving the rest of the fanbase in the dust and killing the franchise in the process?

Umm. Peeps. Just because Monster Hunter 3 is on Wii doesn't mean it isn't on other consoles, nor does it mean that they can't up the visuals a bit for those of you who don't own a wii, etc.

Cancelled for the PS3, check out capcom official website.
