They've chosen an animorphic lens for their first-person view "camera." (That's why all the little lights you see, like the lights on the aircraft and the helhan's "eyes" have a lens flair in horizontal lines.)
This horizontal lens distortion is entirely correct for this style camera lens, and that's what you see here. The model appears to be identical to me. The lighting is also just incidental to the scene.
No, It's not an especially attractive look for a close-up on a beautiful female model, but this is a first-person game here, not a fashion shoot.
Personally, I like the more cinematic approach of TLoU that allows for multiple camera angles, and multiple lens choices, so each "shot" can look as good as possible. But as Guerilla said before, these videos came out, they wanted you to experience as much of the game as possible in the first-person, so because of that choice, they aren't going to be able to do that.
