New Ryse: Son of Rome combat vidoc and singleplayer footage

Looks amazing but it feels very constrictive and the animations are really stiff. The swords aren't leaving blood or gashes on the player models either.

Easily the best looking next gen game I've seen so far. I'm not sold on the gameplay after his description though.

Visually it's stunning, especially the night forest, so good looking.

But I really dislike how fast the combat looks ( looks too unnatural) It's like he slides to the enemies with his attacks.

Too many slowdowns too ( thankfully they are optional, i think)

Gobsmacked at how gorgeous it is and it just looks fun as hell to boot. I am increasingly tempted to pay $100 more to get an Xbone first, mainly for this game. How things change.

Looks pretty in more areas than it doesn't... Does that make sense?

I think sunsets were used too much during the current gen, so when they do daytime/fog rain and stuff it looks better now.

With the exception of the still horrible animations it does looks great visually.

Personally think KZ looks much better.

Looks out of this world for a launch game.

Someone gif the part where the dude gets a sword up his ass.

Still haven't decided if I'm getting it day-one. I'm going to go KI and Forza and grab this next month....if I can hold out.

Looks gorgeous.

Really nice looking game, it's come a long way.

Kinda wish that the combos weren't multiple button prompts. I prefer a system like NG2. Just have to play it first and see how it feels.

The game certainly has gone from 'meh, probably pick it up because I'll want games to play' to 'alright, yeah, lets do this' over the past couple of months.

Looks fantastic.

Gameplay and animation is just as pedestrian as before, so I've given up hope on hidden depth. I'll try to enjoy it for what it is.

Lighting is really gorgeous and the frame-rate even with a lot of enemies on screen looks really smooth...the game may turn out to be mediocre but it sure looks absolutely amazing. o_O

I dont like how they sped up the animations at some points, looks like they all have super powers. People couldnt swing their swords around that fast. but vigea gamez

Holy shit, that looks way better than it used to. Still think the animations look a bit wooden, but the environments are incredible.

So that IGN video on the other topic is just a part of that vidoc with a different voiceover? That's... odd.

Looks great. A major step up from what was shown at E3. Crytek definitely showing their graphical prowess here. For some reason, I really like how janky the animations look. It fits with how brutal the game is.

It looks good, but it still looks like the single player is an elaborate horde mode. They showed several different sections there and they all played out very similarly. Would like know how these story events are connected, I know it is not open world, but is there some exploration or connective tissue between locations? Still looks like the game to get for the Xbone though.
