Anyone lese having problems with the range on their DS4?
I have my PS4 sitting in a media cabinet (exactly where my PS3 sat since its launch) about 10 feet away from my couch. I'm getting alot of missed button presses and miscued directional movements both in game (mainly KZ) and the dashboard. If I hookup the controller via USB, everything resolves instantly...even moving right next to the system resolves the issue.
At 15 feet, it is completely unusable.
n KZ, for example, it will either not register anything or take a quick flip up of the right stick as a nonstop motion and continue to make the character look up.
I moved the console to see if interference was the problem...it's not. Same issue. I sure hope it's not the console that's the problem

My PS4 isn't accepting discs at all. There's no disc in the drive (you just get the 'beep' sound when you try to eject it), but when you attempt to insert a disc, it only inserts about a quarter of the way before the motor stops. You actually have to pull the disc to get it out, since the eject mechanism doesn't do anything.
Anyone?

I'm going to assume it's just firmware bug. I mean the PS4 says the game is ready but obviously not enough of it is downloaded to install and play yet.

Thanks for the replies. The answer hurt, but at least it came quickly and decisively.
On hold with Sony, and the first thing I hear is that the call may take more than an hour to reach someone.
I wish Sony would automate this - create some sort of page I could access and allow me to type in my name/address/model# and have them overnight a box and then ship it back pre-paid. That would take the hassle out, and allow me to not have to stare at the darn thing like an angry parent dealing with a trouble-making brat of a kid.

I had mic issues when there were things installing in the background. As well as the system going to the home screen when an install was done. Make sure you have nothing going on in the background to see if that's causing your issue.
Holy wow @Amazon telling me they can't do a replacement and then putting up bundles for order.
But I'm desperate enough for a functional PS4 that I just ordered one of the Knack bundles. Little bit shitty because I already have knack from B2G1, and it doesn't seem like the kind of thing I can easily sell. I wonder if I complain about the situation to a CS rep if they'll refund one of my copies :/

Just keep refreshing. That's what I did and eventually got someone after like 7-gos.
Does anyone know if Amazon checks the validity of in-box codes when you return an item? If say, I already redeemed the PSN codes online should I put the ones from the new console in the box to make sure they don't ding me?

So I was able to get into safe mode and now i am not. Exactly how do you get into safe mode? When the system is off hold the on button for 10 secs? If so then i guess my system is dead.

alright. i'm currently downloading warframe right now since DCUO is just slow.
my Best Buy preorder is September 2013. no issue. ran it for 11 hours straight today. just PSN issue but that's PSN.
my amazon BF4 preorder is august 2013. no issue (so far). heat comes out fine just like the first ps4. it installed firmware with no problem. restarted properly.
theres a third ps4 which is a launch edition september 2013 which i gave away (lol) but we won't know how that will go until later.
also i didn't use the cheap HDMI cable that came with the system. the first ps4 i used a gold plated cable i got from work.
the second one wasn't gold plated. it looked as cheap as the one that comes with the box but not really. worked fine. no issue there.
but right now im still downloading and checking to see if warframe will crash the system.

it didn't crash on me when i tried earlier. played one match before connection issue dropped me out of the party after the round.

Exact same situation here. There will be a meltdown to end all meltdowns if the second unit is borked.

My controller headset jack goes too far in (i.e. doesn't work unless i pull the plug out slightly). Going to have to get a replacement. Hopefully I can get my replacement before I ship it out. Has anyone else had this problem? Everything else seems fine. The wobble is there but not really any sort of an issue.

June 17th. Amazon.ca didn't ship any units until today though.
I believe I have a finicky PS button. It seems to trigger even when I'm nowhere near it. For some reason it happens more when not in game, just in the main OS. Moving around and it'll go back to the main game tile automatically. Started weird, got annoying.

So I have a question. For all these years on my TV, I could always get 1080p even though I believe it's only supposed to be 1080i max. My PS3, my Wii U, and my 360 all give a 1080p signal, but my PS4 only does 1080i.
I'm guessing I was never actually getting a 1080p signal, but I'm wondering why PS4 is acting differently regarding this.
Also - 720p or 1080i? (I've been using 720 to get that progressive scan.)

The "PS Dynamic Menu randomly popping up" bug is driving me crazy. It seems to happen when I first start or leave a game I'm playing. I haven't had any other issues so I have a lot to be thankful for so far. That bug just keeps happening though!

Mine came from amazon, turned it on with no issues. Went to download the update and when it tried to reboot, my ps4 no longer turns back on wtf.
wtf.I've tried that, no go.
What I'm going to do is make the disk auto install, turn off the system and let PS+ auto install the patch. In order to initiate patches, you need to first boot the game. I think the problem happens somewhere between this process.

My PS4, ordered from amazon, has arrived at my house, but it's technically my birthday present so I won't get it until mid December. Hearing all of these reports about defective consoles, should I test out my console briefly just to make sure it works properly? What do you guys think?
