There was a dumb rumor that the rumored six were the ONLY newcomers in the game. At least that's been proven false.
Well I'm not sure how many people had the idea, but I think some (myself included) assumed a potential worst case scenario in which that list proved to be the only new characters in the game which thankfully isn't the case anymore. Not to say Mii/Little Mac/Pac-Man won't be in the game though.
Also we need a gif of Kirby and Luma dancing stat!

Actually yeah, I thought Smash as soon as the characters crowded around Kirby. Rosie for Smash came to mind as soon as the launch star/luma came in.
Also, can't wait to see the other cutscenes for new characters. They're doing a mighty fine job with them.

I think it's a stage replacing the other Mario Kart one. Or maybe the Mario Kart stage goes to different tracks now ala the Mushroomy Kingdom.

The giant dip is somewhat of a call back to n64 i think. The rest sorta reminds me of mario kart ds verrrrry loosely.

Huh? One rumor was that it was only 6 specific newcomers (the 3 from E3 + Little Mac, Pac-Man and Mii). Now that Rosalina has been revealed, it's obviously not going to be those specific 6. There for that rumor is debunked.

Maybe it's just me, but while I like this, I wish Nintendo hasn't forgotten the "other certain princess".
I had that same feeling of ingratitude since 3D World.

It could be Rainbow Road from Mario Kart 8, after all Iwata mentioned something like Sakurai unwittingly revealing part of the game.

Looks like a variation of Mario Kart Wii's. The course kicked off with a long drop.
I'm pretty sure all that was supposedly said was that those characters would be revealed at E3 (but, possibly removed last minute), not that they'd be the only new characters.

This is what I was thinking. Maybe Sakurai was able to use the actual track in his video.
It's probably that she just has to summon another. The summon animation seems to take a while, unlike pikmin. You have to get to safety to summon one, so it's still a penalty. Also, different color lumas might mean using the summon ability while one is already out changes the color which probably changes the neutral B or side B ability for the luma (like shooting out the star bits, or doing melee attacks)
I hope not. I want something even crazier than mario kart 7's RR.

I thought he was just saying that Sakurai managed to hint towards Mario Kart being in the Direct, not necessarily the contents of MK8 itself. But seeing as Wario's victory theme was from a game we had no idea about at the time it could very well be possible that it's the MK8 RR. Looks a bit lame compared to MK7's brilliant RR if that is the case though.
Also it can't be a MK64 reference if it doesn't have glowing lights in the sky forming the faces of racers. They are the most important element!

I completely understand why anyone would actively dislike Waluigi, because he is just the worst. However, they're wrong.

I wonder how the luma AI works exactly. It seems to target Pit somewhat before doing the uppercut.

She is like a godess right? Since galaxy 2 with the cosmic witches I thought she was projecting herself into the field or something. Then again nothing makes sense in Mario
