What qualifies as a big deal then? 720p v. 1080p no big deal. 30fps v. 60fps, no big deal. If these things are no big deal, then how can you sell the XB1/PS4 as a "big deal" compared to the previous generations? Aight cool, no big difference between x360 and XB1, stick with x360 then.
This mothafucka is XOne owners' Dennis Rodman.
He doesn't actually post since launch. Is there any reason he wasn't banned for, what is and has been, lying and deceiving through PR speak on GAF?
Non-Microsoft employed "shills" have been banned for the same kind of posts, shouldn't this apply even more to an actual Microsoft Director?
Everybody wants to focus on frame rate, there is Tomb Raider, there is a resolution thing going on and OK, there could be a lot of reasons why that could be true...
I think if you look at the title which we launch, which were multiplatform titles. The bulk of them were the same. I think there were 12 titles were released on both platforms [PS4 and Xbox One], leaving three, all of them had the same performance on both boxes. Everybody wants to focus on frame rate, there is Tomb Raider, there is a resolution thing going on and OK, there could be a lot of reasons why that could be true but we are just a [few] weeks in, we just shipped, its a long generation. People who bought an Xbox One are going to be in for an awesome generation of games that are only going to get better. I think these little things get way overblown versus like the quality of the games and the real differences in experiences which are pretty minor, he said.
People DO understand that Microsoft has some of the smartest graphics programmers IN THE WORLD. They CREATED DirectX, the standard APIs that everyone programs against. So while people laude Sony for their HW skills, do you really think they dont know how to build a system optimized for maximizing graphics for programmers? Seriously? There is no way theyre giving up a 30%+ advantage to Sony. And ANYONE who has seen both systems running could say there are great looking games on both systems. If there was really huge performance difference it would be obvious.
Cod, BF4 and AC4? They are three kind of important titles Albert.
Albert Penello said: "I will ask two questions of the detractors, honest questions.
2. If it comes out after we launch that the difference between 3rd party games is maybe single-digit FPS between the two platforms, will I get an apology or concession?"
He is a liar, or not very smart.
Well, what else can he say that won't reflect negatively on the hardware he's being paid to sell? There's no confidence or conviction in what he's saying. It's pure damage control.
Were any launch multiplatform games the EXACT same on both platforms? Some differences were more minor than others, but I'm pretty sure they all favoured the PS4 in either performance, resolution, or effects

Does Ryse look better than Killzone?
I need gifs.
Penello loves jumping in the shark tank.
Come on guys what else is he supposed to say?
Or both . I agree that Ryse looks great though. It would probably look just as great and in a higher resolution on PS4 though.whynotboth.gif
I don't really think Albert Penello can say much else really.
So far the Xbox One seems weaker than the PS4, but as he works for Xbox I don't think he can come out and say they made a weaker box and there is nothing they can do about it now.
Ryse looks good. But it would look better on PS4.
You can't doubt that.
LOL, Oh... MS lol
and I know what is going behind the scenes and I have access to more information about some of this thing than a lot of people...
He seems to imply there are current issues with xbone development ecosystem which may be hindering it's gaming performance.
Hopefully, Ms can iron these issues out.
Microsoft should have learned by now to just keep their damn mouth shut about things like this and try to talk up the real, legitimate positives of their system. Unfortunately, graphics superiority is not an area where they beat their competition.
Continually trying to spin their weakness as "not that bad" continues a narrative of them being on the defensive and trying to downplay their weaknesses vs hearing about why Xbox one is a great system worth buying.
Basically, just shut up about it already.
I still think Ryse is still the best looking game on any platform. Period. End of story,
I think there were 12 titles were released on both platforms [PS4 and Xbox One], leaving three, all of them had the same performance on both boxes.
all of them had the same performance on both Xboxes.
