Payday: The Heist is a 4 player co-op fps game in which the goal is to commit large heists such as a bank
robbery, hostage kidnapping, infiltrating and hijackings. As a team you must work together to overcome
obstacles such as the police and other law enforcements, one false move and a swat team could swarm
down upon you. Payday has 6 heists for you to carry out; each one is dynamic in nature so they never
play out the same way. Payday was developed by Overkill.

Six High-Intensity Heists to Pull: Whether you’re blowing the roof off a building to extract a safe via
helicopter or emptying the vault at the First World Bank, these action packed heists will have players
checking their six in the living room.

Interactive Co-op Gameplay: Whether AI or live, your crew of four must operate as one to bring
home the bacon. Sharing extra ammo and medic kits, helping regen wounded partners, distributing tasks
like guarding key positions, taking civilian hostages or cracking through various security measures. It’s
one for all and all for one.

Endless Replayability: Dynamic, adaptive environments combined with non-scripted enemy
behavior, shifting entry points, FBI agents repelling down on ropes through the skylights, SWAT teams
crashing through the windows or special units crawling through the ventilation shafts makes play-through of
every heist a unique fight.

Massive Character Progression Tree: Choose a specialty – assault, sharpshooter or support – players
gain weapons and equipment that fit their preferred form of violence. Unlock trip mines, silenced pistols,
machine guns and much, much more.

Shout Out Button: Players need to be vocal and shout commands and directions to the co-op crew,
as well as hostages and the police if they want to survive to spend their cut of the take.

Hostage Trading: Hostages can be a lifeline. If anyone in the crew is taken into custody, trade
hostages to get crew members back and increase the odds of completing your objectives.

PC version

Eurogamer: 80/100
More of a smash and grab than a smooth raid, then, but you can't deny that it's come away
with the goods.

Game Informer: 80/100
Payday obviously comes with some caveats, but it's a great game when everything goes right.

PC Gamer: 71/100
Payday is the most exciting parts of your favorite movies cobbled together, swapping the brains for
extra bullets. [Jan 2012, p.67]

NZGamer: 85/100
When you take into account that Payday is an indie game and the promise of potentially more levels
down the lines as downloadable content, there is very little reason to not pick this game up.

PC Games (Russia): 85/100
One of the best ways to spend 20 bucks. Incredibly strong and fascinating online action.
[December 2011, p.83]

Pelit (Finland): 84/100
Payday: The Heist is maybe Left 4 Cops, but still a very good interpretation with nice own ideas.
Continous, massive cop slaughtering could use some tweaking, as it gets somewhat monotonous.
[Nov 2011]

Gameblog.fr: 80/100
Payday: The Heist is like a Left 4 Dead with cops and robbers, where we play the bad guys. It offers
(at least on PC) a solid co-op experience, with an good atmosphere. Too bad there is no Versus Mode.

Bit-Gamer: 50/100
Payday: The Heist has a brilliant concept at its heart, and that's further rounded out by some great art
direction and some solid level design that makes a few of the missions real fun to play. Unfortunately,
though, budget production values are evident in the graphics and limited selection of levels, and these
factors inevitably come into conflict with a higher-than-expected price point.

PS3 version

PSN Stores: 4/5
If you can look past some of the game’s faults, you will find a game that is frenetic, challenging and just
down right fun. I had a great time playing this with fellow PSNStores editors and hopefully the game
gathers a following of dedicated players. Having to just play this game with AI would be a shame.

GameTrailers: 80/100
In spite of its few faults and a curious lack of a competitive multiplayer element, Payday: The Heist
manages a fun and fresh cooperative experience that duly pays tribute to a genre rarely seen in games.

IGN: 7.5/10
Working together to get the loot and the insanity of trying to get out alive are tense, enjoyable
experiences. Issues like the clipping and generally "blah" presentation keep PayDay from being an
amazing experience, but they don't stop it from being a good time.

Gamesradar: 8/10
Regardless of its imperfections, if you're wondering about getting Payday: The Heist, simply ask
yourself: did that scene from Heat get my blood pumping? Did those robberies in Point Break make
me want to don a president mask and go buckwild on some bank tellers? Your answer will steer you
in the right direction.

Game Informer: 65/100
Working together with your crew to clear each hurdle while not getting shot to pieces by the police is a
tense experience that can be every bit as good as Left 4 Dead at its best. Those peaks are few and far
between, though, and practically nonexistent if you’re playing with the crappy bot AI. I absolutely adore
Payday’s concept, but the execution -- particularly on PS3 -- leaves much to be desired.

PC updates

The PAYDAY Xmas update!

PAYDAY Xmas achievement!
Find a Christmas present on any of the levels in multiplayer - take it and you will be given a Santa mask!
Plus you will get the chance to be surprised later on...

Big features
Player drop-in ability in load-out and in-game!
You can now join an ongoing game! You will no longer be locked out of games just because they have
already started or because you dropped out during play. Just rejoin and continue collecting those precious

the same game will respawn in custody. Drop-in is disabled during the "point of no return" phase of the
heist, as well as on the end screen.

Heavily improved fighting and acting by team AI and enemies
New features and fixes include:
• New events and enemy tactics on all levels
• Team and enemies now pick better cover and firing positions, and use more intelligent firing lanes
for suppression and sniping
• Enemies now master additional acrobatic moves (such as dashes and slides) and they can fire at you
while doing them!
• More cover moves for team AI and enemies
• Enemy AI move in tighter formations and coordinate better
• Team AI now keeps up with human players much better
• Smoother turn and aim on team AI, and reduced animation glitches on movements
• Better looking weapon recoils on team and enemies
• AI teammates now pick weapons that better suit the current combat situation
• Combat will now be more mid ranged and not run-in gun battles
• Team AI no longer has "ants in the pants" (they don't move around so much) when there are no
enemies around

Advanced GFX settings menu (AG menu)
Custom visual settings and optimizations, including:
• Texture resolution setting "low" to "high"
• Texture filtering "off" and up to x16
• V-synch on/off
• AA on/off
• Light streaks on/off
• Animation level-of-detail setting for better performance
• More suitable default resolutions to fit laptops etc.

"Payday +"
"Dinero"
"In Traffic"
"Bastard"
"BHD"
"Xgen Brown"

New masks
To celebrate that yet another bunch of military shooters was released recently, we've added four new
masks to Payday!

Improved network code
Disclaimer: We did not fix the Internet. Please talk to Al Gore about that.

We've added a red toothbrush to Panic Room, and we've made sure this one's worth the hullabaloo!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TT1HShMInUs&feature=youtu.be

Additional features and fixes
Slaughterhouse and Diamond Heist are now available in the Normal difficulty setting
Single Player has improved scenario and difficulty balancing
Added more money bundles to First World Bank
The legendary über killer sniper removed from Heat Street

Fix to better hear team AI voices
Fixes for random crashes
Fixed the drill that kept resetting to full time for some people
Fixes for fake lobby appearing
Changed [Enter] to $Continue; to fix binding of enter to block the final stats screen.

Chains is no longer replaced by Wolf on rare trade occasions
Bain will now correctly call the equipment "saws" (not "drills") in Panic Room

Looks cool, but I feel like I should finish Left 4 Dead, and its sequel, before I drop $20 on this game.

Lovely work OP, do we have a confirmed release date?

I'm more likely to buy it if it's not towards the end of October.

It does look pretty unique and I need more online co-op games :)

The press release says "later this month", so don't expect it immediately.

I'm curious how long these 6 levels are. Will they be L4D quality in terms of lengh? What about a 'Versus' and 'Survival' mode? Is the game Steamworks?

I really hope they put out some sort of demo as the current price is a bit high for a blind purchase. The concept seems really cool though. Edit: Niceeeee.

Yeah, the store page says it is.

I'm cautiously excited for this game. Hopefully the 4 pack stays available on Steam after release. Want to try out the demo on both PS3 and Steam.

*crosses my fingers*

I hate those clown masks.

Some armored outfit would be cool like something out of Army of two

This has cross-platform multiplayer, right?

I don't remember anything about it being included. This type of game could work for cross platform multi.

Now that I think about it, the game almost certainly is not cross platform. The PC version using Steamworks. So the only way cross platform would work is if the PS3 version is Steamworks too.

I am curious to see how dynamic it really is.I also want to see what kind of options you have for initiating a mission for example the bank do you always have to go through the front? is there any back way in or other entry points.

I think for the most part you start in the middle of the heists, like you start in the bank and basically the dynamic parts are the cops and such trying to get to you and during your escapes

Well it says "shifting entry points" in the OP, not sure exactly what that entails.

There was a buzz surrounding this at E3 iirc, I'm sure someone even gave it game of the show. Gonna keep an eye on this.

I was buzzed about it, but it's releasing in such a strong part of the year. And that delay a day before launch gave me pause. I'm definitely waiting till launch and giving the demo a play before buying.

What a missed opportunity. A great way for Sony/Valve to promote and strengthen the Steamworks integration on PS3 similar to Portal 2.

Ok ill ask this on the damn official thread since no one ever knew or responded.

Does this atleast have 2 player couch co-op offline like say Black ops???? If not, no buy. Split-screen co-op for these games is still alot of fun, specially when not all your friends have a PS3 and you cant cross multi with PC users so yea.

I don't think I ever saw any footage of 2 player co-op on the same console. You can drop them a question in the steam forums there posting there every day or so.

No doubt. Co Op based games would be great for cross platform play.
