I'm being facetious, but it's kind of telling about how little everyone else has going on that great news like this is still turned into a "Julia raped my mother and pissed in my cereal" thing.
I don't really like her, but what she did is part of the political process. If you say she has to go, so do 99% of the other politicians. Which I would agree with in principle, but then what?

You'll see that in a sentence before that one, I said the list has gotten very long [of lies]. That is my opinion. The fact of the matter is she is the person running our country, and maybe yeah, I expect her to actually be better than most of the other snake politicians running around.

Senators can be replaced by appointment if one is unable to continue, I believe. It is not a big deal, since they are not voted for directly anyway.

When a senator resigns (as Mark Arbib did last week) instead of a by election (because a senator represents the state not a small area, so you'd have to have a state wide by election) the party of which he is from gets to pick his replacement. In this case NSW Labor chose to replace Arbib with Carr.

What's wrong with it? I'v never owned a handheld gaming device (other than my phone) before and don't ever really plan on doing so, so I'm not sure what the important criteria are for one.
The senate is the only place where you vote for the party not the person

And that would be fair enough, but I would expect Bob to now make a comment about that if that was the case.
Probably just wants to avoid giving in to leaks - even if it is eventually going to turn out to be true. Just confuse the media cycle a bit.
