Hibike! Euphonium S2 [END]

I loved the ending. A bit heavy on the flashbacks, but it was really effective and it got me all teary-eyed. So good to see how much the students have experienced and how much they changed. It seems the series can take a S3, which honestly I really want as I already miss the show! I really loved the cast and characters like Natsuki and Yuuko have definitely become some of my favourites. And I'll miss Kumiko!

Quite a few people here disliked S2, and really the writing was inexcusable at times, but it's still, the AOTS for me and I had mostly a great time with Eupho 2. Shows like Euphonium and Hyouka are so rare in anime. There's an amazing attention to the smallest of the details that I really appreciate. And they look absolutely gorgeous.

I can't wait for Thoraxes' last post!

It's pretty much done. I just have to do all the pictures and stuff, and maybe edit it.

But basically, I loved it. I got pretty teary at the end and just honestly loved all of it. I'm gonna miss it so much ;_;

Alright I wanna confirm something:

Amazon prime video came to canada recently so I went to check what anime they had. Small selection, but it has stuff I'm interested in watching. For example, Lyrical Nanoha, A's and StrikerS are all on Amazon and I wanna give them a shot and watch them.

Problem: The subs aren't complete. 2 episodes in season 1 are missing subs; all but 2 episodes of A's have missing subs; and all but 1 episode of StrikerS have missing subs.

I wanna know if this is just Amazon being incompetent or if its just something weird with the Canadian distribution. Can anyone with Prime that is not in Canada check for me?

Edit: Just checked out US and UK sites. US doesn't have Nanoha period apparently, and the UK has all the subs. I really wonder why canada doesn't :S

Little Busters 1-3

So I tried the first 3 episode from this and sorry Cornbread, but this is just soooo not my kind of show. I guess Riki's design was kind of good, but everyone one else was pretty meh. Also those girls gosh, the 3 main ones, I don't think I could listen to them for 39? episodes. Key's artstyle is just probably not my thing. The humour, while it worked once or twice was mostly miss

Also just curious but is Narcolepsy a real thing? That some dangerous stuff! Poor kid.
Your Guilty Crown rating is way too low.

Anyway watch
Tsuritama
Glasslip
Luck & Logic
BLast of Tempest
Sengoku Basara
Accel World

Seconding Sengoku Basara. That's so his thing.
Ohh yea Tsuritama and Blast of tempest were things I did plan to watch, loved how they looked!

As for Sengoku, I remember watching a few episodes a few years ago. But man looking at what they have on funimation, There is a LOT of sengoku basara.

So yea I will check these out! thank you for the recommandations.

Email and let amzn know, though their kind of slow on response (took them a week to add the missing Battery subs for one episode :( )

.

Bummer, it os an excellent show the more you watch of it and you get to know the characters. Also, those littke things like the narcolepsy have significance to the story later.

Don't we have a rule against recommending KEY stuff to people? I feel like we should have a rule about it.

We do about Boku no Pico and School Days, so I think it's fair.

I really don't think its fair to compare KEY to child porn and nice boats.

a lot of KEY stuff if flawed in execution but interesting in ideas

Nice moment with Taki undercut by how seriously the show is taking Reina's crush at the beginning. Also, what even was the point of that one bit of melodrama.

This is probably a life ruining illness no? I mean unless it's treatable.

Yea, it just felt kind of aimless for me, at least the episodes I watched and my #1 criteria for any anime I watch is the characters designs and little busters did not pass.

I'm surprised by how few anime adaptations of fighting games there are. I'm watching some right now and as far as I can tell there are 28 total. It just seems like there should be more than that.

My two cents... I like both an overarching plot AND episodic nature. The thing is, it depends on the premise and setting so that matters in its execution. Sometimes I like a nice plot, like Steins;Gate. Other times I prefer something episodic, maybe in stuff in Slice of Life or other shows like Mushishi.

I don't understand why there is such revulsion against episodic when it has its own merits to characterization. Honestly, both ways of storytelling are good, but there's no need to put down episodic as if there's no value. Now if the execution is bad with what is presented, then yes, it should be criticized. But don't act like you can't draw anything out from an episodic format like you have to have some kidn of big theme. It's like saying you don't like certain action movies because they had a few breaks in the action and not enough hectic pacing.

Pretty much a nice feel good episode. Can even ignore the annoying cats.

Flip Flappers: 13

Now this shit here, sigh. This show had some great visuals throughout it's episodes, that was pretty consistent. Now the story turned out to be a disappointment, in the early episodes it was fun just seeing their absurd adventures but I was wondering how the narrative would come together and what direction it would go in. Once they started focusing on that it started falling off, still don't like what the main antagonist turned out to be and some questions are left unanswered. Ah well.

I dunno, seems there is a lot to me aside from Western series like Mortal Kombat or Killer Instinct.

Off the top of my head there are multiple Street Fighter and Fatal Fury/KoF ones, a Virtua Fighter one, some Darkstalkers OVA, a Tekken OVA, Blazblue TV.

Pretty much missing Guilty Gear, Dead or Alive and Soul Calibur.

Finally finished watching the first season of Iron-Blood Oprhans. Shit's intense but I wish people
stayed dead
to better drive the impact of child soldiers fighting in war. Luckily I have a good majority of season 2 to binge now.
