But is there online verification for the offline modes of online games?
I guess there could be if the developer wants there to be but I dont think Microsoft has to answer for it.
But is there online verification for the offline modes of online games?
Oh shit.
Has... has it been 24 hours since his last "check in"?
Either the ban or microsoft's day one patch isn't up yet and the 500 mb patch did not remove the online requirement. You know maybe he really did play offline after the ban and after 24 hours the console locked up the way microsoft described originally.....
What benefit would this give publishersMaybe the DRM needs to be turned off on game by game basis. That'd be painful though and what if the publisher forgot to do it before sending the disc to press?
It was clarified 5 months ago. There is no online verification of offline games.
He tweeted that he can't even access settings....wtf?

It's starting to sound like the patch he downloaded wasn't the actual DRM removal patch. This is his original tweet on it:
and later he says this:
He may just be confused? I think they essentially locked the whole console down remotely? Although I'm not sure how that's possible if he's offline, but yeah.
Really? People are pretending like this is a real issue? SMH.
It was suggested in one of the recent CBOAT threads that the DRM removal might not make the launch firmware update. Using this one guy's experience isn't the best way to gauge whether this is the case or not, as we don't know how the console banning has effected things.

Remember that 24 hour check in requirement that MS was talking about? 24 hours might have passed and now he can't.

Im curious to know also. What does the back of the Xbox One case say? The same?
With 360 console bans you just got blocked from accessing Xbox Live. You could play offline and do anything else just fine.Did anyone ever get their 360 banned? Does it not let you access the system settings?

Read the OP by any chance?

Was Black Ops 1 the only COD to require Gold for bot modes? Or has it been this way ever since? You are 100% correct.
Console banned so you cannot use it at all.

Maybe the dude is just not that smart. He doesn't seem to know what he's talking about.
That was yesterdayI thought he said he could play offline

Blops was the last COD I played on the Xbox.
The one that said he downloaded the day one update which is factually incorrect?
I don't think anyone is confused. Seriously. What, the new narrative is that games don't work at all without gold? Go crazy if you want but obviously that's not the case.No I believe the consensus here is: "I'm confused..."
Im curious to know also.
I see no wiggle room there at all. Good...Just to reiterate MS's official statement on the matter:
*eye twitch*It does NOT say offline play is enabled.
Really? That was nice of them. How often do you see Gold requirements patched out? Crazy.Treyarch later patched in a way to play with bots, offline. You had to sign in first obviously but it was possible.

He was right! Not returning because it never left!
Look at that wording though, especially 'SOME' games, at the end
