When can I buy this?
I only want to know one thing without spoiling everything else: any mention of where it takes place on the timeline here?
Have to be careful during a thunderstorm, since your metal items can attract thunder
Exactly. Gaurentee we will see a hook shot like device for some sort of grapple hook. The traversal mechanics and physics system are asking for its.
Damn it Nintendo, why can't you have a set-top box sku of the switch.
I'm getting a bit worried that there won't be (m)any traditional items returning in this game like the hookshot or boomerang if there aren't any chests in the dungeons (as far as we now know at least). Seems like all the focus is on collecting more (breakable) weapons, clothing, food and horses so far.
Seeing as combat and gathering are such a large focus in this game, it would have been cool to see at least a few iconic items come back as permanent gear that have abilities to aid in combat or item gathering. Would have been a somewhat fresh approach considering most of them used to be tied to puzzle solving and traversal mostly. We'll have to wait and see I guess.
I have to admit that the more I hear about this game, the more worried I'm starting to get that they might have abandoned too many typical Zelda defining things (like items, themed dungeons, etc.) for the sake of the open world, free-roaming approach, even when I really applauded their decision to go back to the series open world roots at first.
Edit: thanks for the many reply's people! Guess my worries are somewhat unfounded, going by what most of you are telling me. I would miss things like the boomerang if it's not returning (even though it might indeed be one of the the things that the orbs will "buy" you) but I agree that the larger sense of open world adventure is more important than a returning item or two (or themes in dungeons arguably). I'll be there day 1 one to check out how this game turned out along with you all, worries or not.
Buy the Switch, sell the accessories you don't want for retail on GAF.
EZ
The best part i like is that you have to place markers on places of interest by yourself, 100 seems like a good number of markers you can place.
Needs to be posted here too because holy fucking shit

....
This is probably a Switch capture isn't it.
Damn it, i don't have $360 just laying around...
Article mentions Aonuma saying it takes place. Put spoilers in case someone wants to be completely blind. This is all that he has said far as placement goes officially.after Ocarina of Time
Has any other game actually done this!?

confirmed.Downfall Timeline
Not invincible doesn't mean that the master sword will break into dust just like the other weapons. Being a special weapon, it will probably deplete itself after extensive use, and you'd have to recharge/reforge it again somehow. It wouldn't make sense that such an important item would break and disappear forever if you use it too much.
How do either of those things confirm that?It is pretty much confirmedbecause ofchild timelinebeing confirmed to be in the game and maybe evenRitosBeedle the shopkeeper
Yep. Thats another thing.
People fail to realize this game will have many many items that arent exclusive to dungeon use or overworld use. You can use them for anything.
They just had an interview where they discussed you can do one task in several different ways in this game. Its different than, "You only can use the deku leaf and only the deku leaf to get over these lasers."
Nope, rather they just make a set-top box with a pro-controller.
I love Weapon durability when its not from random drops and when there's an inability to repair items. Weapon durability when it's planned out on an encounter by encounter basis in this way gives incredible depth to relay value and planning out future runs. Not only do you have to excel in combat and puzzle solving, you have to wonder if you're getting the most efficient use out of those items as well.
All my fears about open-world games are still present here... Keeping my expectations in check once again.

How long after release do you think it will take someone to march straight to Ganon and finish the game? Hours? Im thinking hours till its on youtube.
😂
It is pretty much confirmedbecause ofchild timelinebeing confirmed to be in the game and maybe evenRitosBeedle the shopkeeper
are also confirmed andZorais in Minish Cap and Skyward Sword too and not in anyway locked to a timeline. It's just another example of a character they can pop in wherever they please.Beedle
The only one with those are this one so
Because somehow it's also impossible for them to come into existence in another timeline? lol
Hell, I think you're actually thinkinganyway because that's the only one withadult timelineright now. And since theRitoANDZora are extinct therethe two co-existing in a game of that timeline is unlikely.there's no hero before Wind Waker
I'm not a fan of the franchise, but I'm incredibly excited for this game. I'm seriously considering picking up a Switch just to play this.
So can someone confirm if we're indeed getting traditional large scale dungeons in this game? Gameinformer doesn't seem to explicitly say one way or the other so I'd just like to make sure.
Man oh man , cant wait to get this game
This will be my third day 1 zelda (mainline/non-HD Remaster on home consoles) in a row.
