As far as I've read, Boy Bands and Girl Groups are RAMPANT with this sort of bullshit. I hope every abuser and pimp involved go to hell.
Making all money off them from what it sounds like.
It's just really salacious, trashy stuff that only really got passed around in the early industry/entertainment blogging days of like 2005 before Twitter. I only dislike repeating it because I couldn't even begin to source anything, although at the time it came from people who had some credibility.
Basically, Robin Antin WAS, for all intents and purposes, a madam. But Nicole Scherzinger was her "special" girl. The rumors were heavy that they had a pretty toxic relationship for a while.
True. I think that, of the original 6 girls from the group, Nicole and Melody (the ones who did most of the singing) were the only two who hadn't performed with the burleque act.

I 100% believe that some part of this is absolutely true and given how the Weinstein debacle has given people the confidence to come forward with other stories I wouldn't be surprised if we see more stories like this in the coming weeks.
Whether anything will ever come of this though is another thing entirely.
That's not the rumour I heard. To be clear there was a Nicole Scherzinger rumour going around years ago which was the very definition of a pretty nonsensical, mean, showbiz rumour.

Well it seems like they were pressured into sex so they could keep working according to her tweets. So, I'm not sure there is much of a difference when it comes down to it, other than it wasn't the main purpose, just how it operated.

I'm shocked that all you guys are shocked. Guess this week has been a wake-up call for everybody about the seedier sides of the entertainment industry and the corruption from people in power in general. That's not to say it's all bad, but this kinda stuff is prevalent everywhere & does happen on a regular basis.

So what she's basically saying is that to be and stay in the group, you had to be willing to do whatever Robin told you to do, and that included sleeping with people if she set it up. Yup, that's disgusting and also not very surprising. There's always been tons of rumors about Hollywood prostitution rings (I still remember the one about the coffee table book of young celebrities that was supposed to be a catalog for high-end escorting).

Kind of surprised at the tone of this thread. I mean I don't pay a huge amount of attention to the mainstream entertainment industry, but stories in this vein seem pretty common. Still absolutely vile, obviously, but doesn't seem very surprising.

i understand what you're saying but we need to embrace these things. That people would rather not read them, ignore them, or pretend they aren't happening or choose to believe they aren't, is why they keep happening.

Being an MJ fan opens you to a lot of things within the entertainment industry. There's so much wrong in there that I think Gaming, of all entertainment mediums, Have it best in terms of sexual violations (Think about that).
This isn't an American thing BTW, the entertainment business in the Arabian world is just as bad... And it's not just women.
