Adam Sessler didn't mention any of this in his five stars review, what the FUCK Revision 3?
It seems to me that the game was designed with this progression in mind "play through the career, earn all the money, buy the cars then race online" that might not be for ever. But thats really how it seems to me. because the people who are complaining about not being able to buy a Bugatti Veyron SS for 2.4 million credits in the 1st 5 hours of the game have to be wanting it ONLY for online. Because there just arent that many races in the games career you could even do with that car.
Token cost of all cars in the game comes to 168993
if bought at simplest token value cost of 8000 per $100 usd, that comes to $2200. you could probably bring it in a bit cheaper by buying the remaining balance with smaller amounts instead of the 8000 lot.
if bought at the least value cost of 1250 per $20 that comes to $2700.
cheapest overally brings it to $1690 with 100 tokens per dollar..

So some people would be having the problem then. And just a shot in the dark, some might be having problems on other difficulties as well. And unlike the previous iterations, it doesn't seem to produce enough money as a benefit to a variety of players winning/losing/assists/noassists/etc. If it was business as usual, it wouldn't be a thread.
You can't just say that people that are finding this problematic, aren't having an issue. -- But wait, they are, under a specific circumstance! Bottom line is people are having a problem with it. However they've been playing the game in the past, they are continuing to do it now, with way different results. Just from a bystander looking at the suggested packages and what not, it doesn't make any sense outside of a consumer unfriendly way. Then those weird instances combined with players also having the concern about vehicles being priced too much for the amount of time to be put in makes a subject that is worthy to discuss on a gaming forum.
That's ridiculous...
Exactly! This is a $60 full retail game? They're just getting too greedy now.
"Don't worry, It's only visual customization for your multiplayer 'Chief."Oh hell no
If Halo has microtransactions I'm out. I'm just out
Gotta keep up with the rising costs of development I guess.Token cost of all cars in the game comes to 168993

People that are fans of the game wont be personally affected that much because they will play a lot and earn money naturally. I keep hearing people say you need to 'grind' but people who enjoy racing wont see it as grinding. You can grind if you want, and plenty of people do, but its misleading to make it sound like thats the only way to get some of these cars.
That said, not everybody will enjoy racing as much and these people are definitely the ones being targeted here.
And the bottom line is that they've cut useful and enjoyable features in a very clear attempt to encourage people to spend more real money. Just because the diehard fans are least affected doesnt make it less shameful.
i wonder how much he actually played it before reviewing
For clarification, here are the tokens per dollar, according to that screencap:
100 = 100 tokens per dollar
325 = 65 tokens per dollar
575 = 57.5 tokens per dollar < RECOMMENDED
1250 = 62.5 tokens per dollar
2700 = 54 tokens per dollar < GREAT VALUE
8000 = 80 tokens per dollar.
I'm finding that there is no point discussing this with people who don't have the game or aren't used to how the careers in these games work.

This is Next Gen for Microsoft.
It wasn't so long ago that games came with a list of features which sounded great to gamers.
Now they come with a list of features which sounds great to shareholders.
Interesting. Prices of normal cars havent changed, but a few of the more desirable cars have had their prices inflated a little bit. I'm all for having certain cars/content be difficult to obtain unless you work for it, but the prices were fine before. Certain ones were obviously changed in order to make them that little bit farther out of reach.https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet...RVVRQmVJanVNVE9ic2t4VnpvRVE&usp=sharing#gid=0
Not mine but lists prices for all cars
MS should be applauded. They have gamified in-game purchases! If you want to get tokens cheaply, you have to grind while buying them! BWAHAHAHAHAHA this is some genius meta level shit.
Wonder how many vocal "don't buy this then" players bought this exact game for their XBO. It just happens that (almost?) every One launch title has microtransactions in it - you basically have to send the console back at this moment to play without supporting MTA related games.
Thats exactly what they did. There's a Turn 10 quote about this in the OP.Interesting. Prices of normal cars havent changed, but a few of the more desirable cars have had their prices inflated a little bit.
You really can't be saying that this unbalanced sort of monetization system in FM5 is standard for Sim Careers modes. Or even standard for Forza. I'm not sure, which is why i'm asking.
quoting myself to say i dun goofed.
worst value is actually the 50 dollar pack and that brings the grand total to $3129.50
now add that $110 for the game, and season pass.

Turn 10 said right out the gate that they wanted to reward players for playing at harder difficulties. If someone is playing in the afore mentioned way (easiest, with all assists on) Should they earn money at the same speed as someone playing on normal (two difficulty levels up) with all assists off? This is the same thing that people complain about in Warcraft. People raiding normals (easier) and the same gear as people doing heroics. Except in this case you eventually can get the same stuff. It just takes longer. People who are REALLY good at this game could earn 4 million in less than a day if they played with everything maxed out. But im not complaining because they are getting a car faster than me when im playing on a different level.
I don't really have a problem because as far as I'm concerned, the tokens don't exist. While playing the game, I have not yet experienced an issue where, taking my current level in the career into consideration, I have wanted to buy a car and could not afford it.
So it costs $3129.50 to skip the career mode. Nice
Correct me if I'm wrong, but Killer Instinct seems like something which people won't mind that much. The base game is free after all, and buying all the fighters (season 1) in the Combo Breaker pack is only $20, which seems much more reasonable to me.

Well, at a minimum it seems to me the prices for the tokens are completely insane, stuff like this really shouldn't be more than the cost of the game itself AT AN EXTREME, and ideally it'd be more content bundled together at around half the price.It seems to me that the game was designed with this progression in mind "play through the career, earn all the money, buy the cars then race online" that might not be for ever. You're delusional if you think Sony won't follow suit.
60$ game + 20$ Season Pass to have the full game (Co-op in K:SF, for example), exhorbitant microtransactions on top of the 60$, 40$ or more annually for online play, DLC outside of the season pass (they released DLC for Uncharted 3 that wasn't included in the 24$ season pass), and who knows which other kind of further scamming they'll implement.
Enjoy your next gen whoever is getting one of these two consoles, we'll be getting free DLC created and shared among the community on Steam. Oh, and free online for games we've already paid and even for those we haven't.
Exactly. This is how iv been too. Now I have looked at some of the super cars and thought..man that would be nice, but where I am in my career and my level that car is literally useless to me.

Is that with the DLC cars added which also must be bought with tokens or in-game currency?
Just like Sony followed suit with DRM?
