Can't some other publisher step in and take it over? Can't Sony?
Why would they? An IP they don't own, that they have no reassurances it'll sell well or even be good, for what? Selling systems they're already selling? Getting good will form Hardcore gamers, that they already have?
Nintendo needed Bayonetta 2, because after the Wii was popular with a more casual crowd, some gamers were skeptical of them, but Sony isn't in the same boat at all.

Silent Hill has been dead for a long time, any Silent Hill fan knows this (regardless of whether or not they liked the outsourced games) P.T. tricked us one last time in believing it wasn't, but now we're back at square one.
Put Silent Hill back in the attic where it was, and try not to get fooled again, by this company of clowns.
