I definitely saw ice bridges on the Glacier canvas. I wonder if we can edit the traction on those in similar vein to Sidewinder.
oh
so just dumb post then
well carry on
What about a haunted house asymmetric game type where 1 defender tries to keep the rest of the players from reaching him with button-activated traps like smashing a player with a fast moving block, or making the floor beneath them suddenly disappear. Or the classic stairs turning into a slide trapDepending on how far and precise you can move objects, this also allows for easy creation of things like elevators - just weld a box together and script doors that open and close.
Also, i'm calling the idea right now: add in a map hazard / on-map button to control defenses in Objective gametypes, e.g. prime a snare so that if the enemy makes it to your base, the flag starts running away to a fallback position.
Oh, I'm sorry. Am I suppose to qualify every single post with "IMO" or something?
BTB's not at launch, Forge is coming in December, Split-screen is gone, I have no idea what's going on with theatre mode in Campaign and a host of other small oddities (like detailed stats) but I can't think a game has lesser features then predecessors or delay my purchase because features I use aren't there? And saying so makes it a dumb post?
Well, okay then.

It's not rushed but by god is it's feature set significantly pared back on release compared to the Bungie titles.
Time to put the Halo 5 purchase on the backburner.
I'm expecting them to be cut, so anything else will be a pleasant surprise. It's very disappointing to think about Assault, OB and KotH getting the axe. Here is a list of unconfirmed features as so elegantly made by Moa over at TB.
Oddball
King of the Hill
Extraction
Infection
VIP
Headhunter
Juggernaut
Assault
Regicide
Grifball
Race
Stockpile
Does 343 realize their game releases in 3 weeks or are they just going to keep ignoring this?
You're focusing way too hard on the negatives here. You still get Arena, Campaign, and Warzone at launch, which would be plenty to justify a game's purchase. I mean, it's your call if you want to wait, but you can see why you'd be a minority opinion right?Oh, I'm sorry. Am I suppose to qualify every single post with "IMO" or something?

I wonder if the game type customization tools will be as extensive as these Forge tools. You might be able to make all those game types yourself.I'm expecting them to be cut, so anything else will be a pleasant surprise. It's very disappointing to think about Assault, OB and KotH getting the axe.

December is fine, considering I'm gonna be swamped by this game alone and other releases until then.
But man Forge went up to 11 for this. That's really exciting. Grouping looks perfect.
Now just tell me there's a theater mode and this is really a perfect package, 343i.
I obviously meant in reference to Halo 3/Reach.
Yes. Totally.
I think the complaints are valid. They had 3+ years to make this game, but have to wait an extra month to release a really big part of the game. How can the planning be this poor that it takes them an extra month when you had all this time.

Isn't releasing content when its good and ready
like
the opposite of bad planning
In the build we using Metallic was a 1 to 10 scale. No finishes/texture options that i saw, although new items can be added at any time through updates.Crossposting from the H5 coverage thread:
Three questions I can think of off the top of my head:
- Regarding the "finishes" of objects, is it a binary matte / metallic toggle or are there more than two options? I'm not asking on an item-by-item basis, but rather what's the maximum number of finishes an object might have? e.g. a Covenant crate having matte, swords of sanghelios, covenant, heretic etc. finishes to choose from.
- Can you use the scripting abilities to change the greater lighting theme? With the three canvases having three lighting themes each, I was curious as to whether or not you could set up an event where you, say, punch a traffic cone and Space goes from the Installation 04 lighting theme to the Installation 07 lighting theme.
- Do destructible objects make a return beyond explosives, such as palettes and crates? If so, are there more than the ones that have appeared in past games, particularly Halo 3 and Reach?
how about general impressions?
I have a question;
Why was I not invited, I thought we were homies. smh.
Or.... They should have put a larger team/started the forge planning of the game earlier to make sure it launched with the game? How much is a month really going to do.

Could be awesome, especially if we could use different objects as the objectives to carry. For example, instead of carrying a flag in CTF, it would be interesting to carry the OB to score. This is getting a little Wahrer with it, but I'm expecting certain Arena gametypes to get consolidated into bigger categories due to the advancements made with the map editor and more powerful gametype settings. Think Assault in CE, considering that was just a CTF variant back then, after all.

Exactly, so chill lol. It's only a month, right? Perhaps you should look at this as more content to look forward to instead of getting bored with Halo 5, then throwing it away. How much is a month really going to do.

I would guess that they put some features on the back burner because they want the base game to work perfectly at launch rather than stretch themselves too thin. Like you said, they need to restore some good faith after MCC (even if they weren't entirely responsible for those problems).Well after MCC it looks to me they aren't taking any chances to get bad PR or slammed about parts of the game being bug ridden. The modes that will release in 3 weeks look exceptionally polished and ready to go.

This man has never built software.
Super Masterchief Maker
For all those screaming about features that are 'missing'...ever thought maybe they have plan to reveal stuff over the coming weeks to keep interest high? Much like Forge being revealed today...?
No?
Okay, probably worth thinking about.
Why not? With a marketing push behind BTB and Forge, I could see that building hype on attracting players back to Halo, especially since it provides something different than CoD and Fallout.Yes because everyone is so happy to buy a game and then get really fundamental features a month after release. And when half the population is gone because Black Ops 3 and Fallout steal them I'm sure they will rush back.
Hoping to see a night time option down the road. Surprised that it wasn't under the lighting section.
I'm not sure why i was invited. Must have won a contest or something.

They literally did this exact same shit with Halo 4. Missing key and expected features and then released them months later.
People criticized Halo 4 for its early population drop-off, so they may want to keep a bit of a drip feed going this time around to keep people playing months after launch. It's not like we would have seen the fruits of the new Forge's true potential before those other games launched anyway.Yes because everyone is so happy to buy a game and then get really fundamental features a month after release. Because the general pop. could give two fucks about Forge so I was responding to the notion that this would peak interest again.
