Hey everyone, this is Dusk Golem aka AestheticGamer. I have posted on NeoGAF since 2011, and have decided to resign. I have enjoyed posting about horror games here for years, but I no longer wish to support the site and will be leaving for good. I will still be around the internet, I go by AestheticGamer on YouTube, I make games on Steam as Yai Gameworks, and I plan to go by Dusk Golem on other forums. I'll be joining an off-set of the GAF community leaving to try other ventures like ResetEra (Official Twitter for that here: https://twitter.com/reseteraforum ). I hope some of you who read this may consider it, and I plan to try to expose more people to horror games in the years to come. Just not here.

Yeah, there are some differences, but the similarities are too hard to ignore. Hope this isn't from a cancelled project as it's now right at the top of the games I'm most looking forward to hearing and seeing more from.

That shot of the humanoid/Alien looking out over a wasteland also fits in with the Prometheus theme of the engineers visiting and seeding worlds.
Would be pretty interesting if this was a Prometheus game tie in...

It looks like a shot from Alien because of the common Giger influence. It doesn't look like anything specific from the known Alien universe to me.

Hmm...I remember there being a tease of sorts one or two E3's ago where people got emails and such with cryptic audio messages and such. I wonder if this is related to that.

As the poster above mentioned, there's a strong Prometheus vibe to the images.
That with the strong Giger vibe and I have to believe this is tied to the Alien universe in some way.

But the Prometheus vibe is because of the Giger vibe. All the similarities can be tied together via Giger without any reference to Alien. You're adding up pieces of evidence that can all be reduced to "Giger influence."

I don't think so. Despite the biomechanic aspect of the images (more oganic than anything Giger has done too) this isn't his work or Aliens aesthetically.
It is certainly inspired by it though.

Reminds me a lot of Halo's Precursors. It's hard to really justify given the Precursors have little to no physical art assets to go off of, though. It's going by book descriptions.
