Typical drop for the PS3 after 2 big releases, but it's still on top! Wii went up last week as did NSMB and came down this week as did NSMB. Normal drops for Yakuza 4 and Hokuto Musou...

I actually own DoA XBV on the original Xbox. I don't regret buying it, and I think for what it is, it's a pretty good game. There was a good range of swim wear to dress up the character in, and the idea of a relaxing resort game with volleyball, gambling, dress up, etc, is pretty appealing to me. The game looked great and ran at 60fps too.

I have DoA XBV on the Xbox as well. It turned out to be a pretty crappy Volleyball game though. I also have Outlaw Volleyball, and I feel it plays much better. Haven't touched any of the DoA spinoff games since.

Respectable drop for PS3.. went up around 20k n came down around 10k. i wander if it can sustain 30 - 35k for the coming no release weeks also

I think Torne might be responsible for sustaining PS3 hardware.

Torne was released only a few weeks ago, it seems far to early to talk about any sustained effect on sales for the platform. Also PS3's sales went down by about 25% for the week, another drop like that would put it close to the levels from a month ago.

If all DLC came tied to $13 figurines, I'd consider all DLC to be free
So with this weeks announcment peace walker will sell probably + 1 Mil and be the best selling MGS Titel ever in Japan...right ?

Maybe not.

I expect 700K LTD.

Well late ports are rarely successes, though having said that it's only 20k to beat so yeah could happen.

He was laughing because it is enough to sell 25k units in order to be Suda's most successful game ever in Japan.

Which is certainly one of the saddest things in the world :(

I guess 1M is a possibility. The game looks fricking awesome. I wish it was a PSP2 launch title so then (A) it gets more attention in the west (B) two nub stick control.

I'm thinking it was more likely those 2 pretty big software launches it had in the last 3 weeks.

Probably been addressed a billion times but what's the LTD?

Just under 200K for the regular and BEST versions combined.

By the way, how's it comparing to last year's multiple significant software launches around this time?

Unless my math is wrong, shouldn't the psp total be 39,248?
Yup. I just can't get one thing right lately. hahaha Oops...

As for Peace Walker, it's not doing as well in pre-orders as MGS4 or the biggest PSP games; it is closer to God Eater and the Phantasy Star Portable series (around 300k first week, 600k LTD). But it's been only two days since the announcements and there are 3 weeks left.

(MHP3 is already the no. 1 most reserved game in Lepton and no. 3 in COMGNET. I don't think we need to worry about this one.)

I'm not really up on Japanese sales but I don't think the PSP ever had a 1+million week one game. You think that MH3 would be the first ?

Correct. I think MHP2G was the highest. It did ship 1 million week 1, IIRC, though.

It's certainly possible, if not likely.

I don't think it did. Whatever was shipped until Sunday was sold.

Media Create
[PSP] Monster Hunter Freedom Unite (Capcom) - 880.468 / 880.468 / 95,83%

That was the reason for the huge second week
[PSP] Monster Hunter Freedom Unite (Capcom) - 488.208 / 1.368.676

I see Monster Hunter Portable 3 having a 1-1,5m opening week (Thursday release) and Pokemon Black / White a 2-2,5m opening week (Saturday release). In fact I believe Pokemon could have the highest opening ever but I'm almost sure Nintendo will undership again.

quite many psp titles on the chart recently.
maybe they will even do better if the new version of psp wasn't the go.

If all DLC came tied to $13 figurines, I'd consider all DLC to be free

It was released at the end of Capcom's FY. What I'm thinking of is the FY report saying 1 million were shipped, but I could be remembering incorrectly.

Maybe you are thinking of the first reprint. Capcom made an announcement when it shipped one million (but this took way longer than one week).

As for mobile game titles, “Monster Hunter Freedom 2G” for PSP sold 0.99
million.

I think the original Japanese was discussed first, which is where I got the 1 million shipped first week for MHP2G. The English version gives a little more accurate number, though. :)
