Assez discret depuis la fin du développement mouvementé de Rayman Legends, Michel Ancel est désormais officiellement impliqué dans la création d'un nouveau studio indépendant basé à Montpellier, tout en conservant un poste de directeur créatif chez Ubisoft.

Réunie sous l'étendard de Wild Sheep Studio, l'équipe est présidée par Céline Tellier, qui connaît bien le créateur de Rayman, King Kong ou encore Beyond Good & Evil. Plusieurs développeurs expérimentés font également partie de l'aventure et participent à la gestation d'une "création originale" - potentiellement proche des consoles Sony selon nos sources - dont on devrait entendre parler d'ici à la gamescom. Il continuera en parallèle à s'impliquer dans d'autres projets au sein d'Ubisoft Montpellier.

Gamekult reports that Michel Ancel joins the French indie dev Wild Sheep Studio, which was recently founded by Celine Tellier. The game they are working on is supposedly something original for Sony platforms and will be revealed at Gamecom in August.

At the same time Ancel keeps working on projects at Ubisoft Montpellier.
