To be fair..its original enough to be called its own style instead of the amalgamation of tropes it cribbed from in terms of gameplay
To be fair again we have no idea anything about this game in the thread either.

Good to see them being very original.
Playground's new IP being multiplatform doesn't make sense here, unless they aren't making FH4 lol, because the job list clearly says it's a MS exclusive and it's very clear that this game is from Playground.
*eye-roll* There's like 5 tallnecks in the entire game, it's not like it's even a core gameplay mechanic. What a silly reason to drop a fantastic game.
What about the combat? The story? You climb one tallneck and suddenly these things don't matter? Well, OK... :S
Horizon was lots of things, "original" wasn't one of them. So it actually makes sense.
A discussion about originality in games would be a worthwhile discussion to have... just not in this thread.
Playground opened a second studio.
Anyone interpreting "Like Horizon" as anything other than, "We're making an open-world, third person action game." is waaaay overthinking things.
So this means no Forza Horizon 4?
Good to see them being very original.
Why Horizon specifically? All Sony games look the same.
Horizon was lots of things, "original" wasn't one of them. So it actually makes sense.
So this means no Forza Horizon 4?
Because Horizon is so original, right?
Definitely, though it is odd to specifically mention HZD given the plethora of open world third-person games out there.
Expansion. Of course more Forza's that's what pays the bills.
Well second studio means there is a first studio also.
They never gonna drop Forza Horizon as that is the one that brings in the money when the second studio for some years only will cost money.
Sneakers categorically said it and Matt alluded to it in a thread the other day.
Oh, I know, I'm saying that to people saying the Playground new IP is multiplatform, that's why it doesn't make sense, it's clearly a Microsoft exclusive by the job listings.
Pretty sure he said no such thing. He simply said those kinds of games (Especially new IPs) are extremily risky from a financial perspective.I thought Phil said they weren't interested in doing a single player game like Horizon Zero Dawn?
A game like Horizon Zero Dawn but instead of a human you are a car and instead of dinosaurs you are fighting other cars and instead of a post apocalyptic world you are at the Frankfurt car show.
a car ARPG would be pretty dope come to think of it...upgrading your car with like, missiles n shit
Oh I was just making a reference to the notion that this game is not original. Many seem to scold them saying a Horizon like game. Nothing wrong with that as long as the game is good.
But your right no need to derail.
If this is the playground games new IP, then this is a huge deal.
I'll buy whatever they make next.
Microsoft doesn't confirm new IP =
"Where the hell are the new IPs?! Phil is a liar!!"
Microsoft confirms they're working on a big new IP akin to a recent highly successful game =
"So original." "Too late."
They can't win can they? It's a recruitment pitch. They want to give people an idea of the type of game they're envisioning.
Me too, but damn do I want Horizon 4 in 2018.
They've been saying they are working on new ips for 4 years " we hear you" then this e3 Phil 'twitter' spencer says we've got games that are 2 to 3 years out. So it's taking ms 7 years to get some inhouse built exclusives? Lol
It could be that their plans changed. That MS decided to foot the bill. Nobody knows and all speculation at this point.
There are so many robo dino open world games out there right?Because Horizon is so original, right?
Horizon 4 is a given. They have two studios.Me too, but damn do I want Horizon 4 in 2018.
On that note, Matt recently said they turned down a Horizon like game.
So....
Also why is people assuming this is Playground?
Sony got the girls copying them now. Interesting.
Because Horizon is so original, right?

It's Matt. I love the guy, but he's never been a reliable source. At least not to my knowledge. Correct me if I'm wrong.
