As far as screen space, it's beautiful.
However, there is no substitute for the tactile nature of mechanical components. There's a reason touch keyboards are wholly, completely inferior to actual keyboards. Are there "haptic" buttons? Are there buttons on the back? Does the system support a classic controller?
So many questions, yet so long until E3.
But is it #TeamREAL or #TeamFAKE?

It really does look like a Vita with everything the Vita got right removed
But I bet even Nintendo isn't dumb enough to give it a back touchpad
Why is this not in the OP?
What if the dock/grip has buttons and a d-pad?
I didn't read the whole topic, so don't know if confirmed fake, but if it is real, then more Gimmicky Nintendo nonsense. It's like they are afraid to conform or mimic the success of Microsoft or Sony with basic concepts.

Nah, just grips to hold it like a traditional controller. Everything still on the controller as usual. Like 12b
Well, if it's real, it's a proof of concept and I can see more alterations made. Patent also described panel buttons in the back like the Steam controller has.
<3This was the funniest thing I have seen all day. Bless you.

If it has a taptic-like haptic engine and screen all around the sticks, I wonder how well large haptic feedback giving buttons all around the sticks would work, a bit like this amazing drawing I made
This is real OR the most elaborate fake ever. Huh.
I hope this is fake or Nintendo are screwed with 3rd party support. A touch screen will never be a replacement for buttons.
Time for the #TEAM avatar mods!
I'M TEAM REAL BREHS
Anyone want an avatar mod?
This thread might be GAF's greatest moment.
I'll take one if you're offering! #TeamRealPosting again
Yes 50 times already and it's by a banned user.
So can sean give us a fucking answer and clear some shit up, or is he/she just going to give us "" and think that helps the fucking conversation.
Wish we had some legit sources doing work so we can debunk this move on, or at least confirm it's existence and stop the charade.
Even if you're on team fake you need to throw the "this could be done via 3D printing" theory right out the window
3D printers are not magic. Both the actual printing process itself and quality of materials results in a lot of imperfections in the final product - plastic burrs, uneven surfaces, flaking, etc.
It cannot produce smooth, flawless surfaces as has been shown in multiple pictures by multiple sources. We're just not there yet
It might be fake, sure. But it absolutely was not 3D printed. It's like saying you can't tell the difference between a developed photo and a picture printed on a LaserJet. The quality isn't even close

I hope this is fake and then the real controller ends up being even worse. Like an app you download to your smart phone that truly is all touch controls, but on your shitty phone touch screen.
I don't really mean this, oh God GAF be kind.
As they weren't screwed alreadyI hope this is fake or Nintendo are screwed with 3rd party support. A touch screen will never be a replacement for buttons.

Tied with BvS review thread at thus point. This thread might be GAF's greatest moment.
am I reading too much into it when I realize gaf mods allow this and the other thread to remain open for 5k posts all while they remain silent and do not participate in the hype and speculation??
not a single mod has commented on this, that seems quite stranger.
Probably just a coincidence but still.
God forbid somebody in the gaming space do something unique.
Ok. This made me chuckle.
