maybe his brain is damaged? who knows?

Wow how pathetic.
Frankly I don't understand why anyone believed what he was saying(especially the mods), what he claimed never made much sense.
What's even more distressing is how people here reacted to this. Disgusting.

Hell hath no fury like a Nintendo fan scornedlooking at his post history, its obvious he was a nintendo fan....so it doesn't surprise me (since most nfans are up in arms about this game)

thread has served to remind me how much I hated Lion King II.
Now Lion King III, that's a different story!
Good to see this whole thing resolved. The beta leak set off a pretty nasty chain of events that killed the hype for this game, a damn shame. I'm still pumped for it regardless, but I think the community needs some of Gale's final characters to be confirmed to resuscitate the hype, lol.
He should take it to gamefaqs where the gullible fools are most likely to eat it up.

It's not just being a Nintendo/Sony/MS/Sega/Apple fan. He decided to dedicate hours of his days not just posting fake things, but actually constructing an identity, trying to be some sort of insider, just to post a false rumour about PSASBR with Paul Gale involved. HE EVEN MOCKED PAUL FOR HIS TAG HERE ON GAF, DESPITE HE BEING THE FIRST ONE LYING. :lol
I can't comprehend this. It's just...diabolically ill. I don't even know how to describe it. It's just a mean behaviour. And it's absolutely a mean behaviour for everyone.
Maybe it's part of his job at Nintendo? lol.
Sarcasm?
Goddamn Takao that's some detective work. Such a crazy story... blech : Hope Crash gets in.

Yeah, this game really pissed off some nintendo fanatics.
it´s actually quite funny to look at "Sovietprince´s" Post history (the guy that "outed" Afro).. he has only posted about this game he has 58 posts or something like that... lol..wtf is going on with this game..? is this all some crazy marketing scheme like that new Justin Bieber music video..?
Goddamn Takao that's some detective work. Such a crazy story... blech :\ Hope Crash gets in.

:lol - Sovietprince has only posted in that one thread
How deep does this rabbit hole go?!?
Gaf believes every rumour? It cannot be so!
No one would believe that SuperBot would suddenly start to work on characters to add to the roster just to meet the "leaks". That was ridiculous and pretty much the telling sign that this rumor was fake. Afro Gunsou claimed he was not the primary source of that rumor so it could be his friend that was lying to him. But now that his supposed identity was disproven then he is just a liar trying to spread some FUD. Pretty sophisticated FUD though, made some posts in unrelated threads to create a believable forum "persona", used a secondary source to his claims so he couldn't be directly confronted, really crazy methodically.
And what's funny is that I wasn't even invested in this game, I had no interest in it, but all this noise surrounding it just feels weird. And this Paul Gale character also contributes to this weirdness. It's just baffling that what should be a simple feel-good game from Sony, a tribute to its brand and characters, a fan service game, has so much bullshit around it.
Goddamn Takao. Goddamn.
Good work.
Anyway, forums on the whole would be a lot nicer if people could be fans of one thing without being declared mortal enemies of another.
That entire thing was over several months ago.
I didn't know much about the newer generations. Last game in the series that I played was Gold and Silver and then in June one of my fans told me to get back into it and to start with Black and White. I played through it, did some research, and then found out there was a remake of my favorite old game, Heart Gold, and I freaked.
The rest, as my frequent posting in the Pokemon thread shows, is history.
Afro Gunsou said:Of course I understand! It's just that I've always been very careful about my anonymity. There's a reason I only posted in the Toonami thread for a while, I don't want it spread that people know who I am.Seraphis Cain said:Afro Gunsou said:Seraphis Cain said:Afro Gunsou said:Sorry about my posts after my excursion last night. Clearly you're familiar with my work and now I feel awful about posting and making a fool of myself after last night.
No need to apologize, we all get that way from time to time.
However, I feel like I need to clarify something. I posted what I did in that thread because yes, I am a bit suspicious about whether or not you are who you say you are. It's nothing personal, mind you, definitely nothing personal. Hell, if you are Jerry Jewell, I'm actually a big fan of a lot of your work. But with the nature of the internet being what it is, anybody can say they're anybody and most people will believe them without a second look. I suppose I'm just not as trusting as most, y'know?
Anyway, I sent you an e-mail through the contact form on your official website (which is very nice) specifically inquiring about NeoGAF and gaming. If I receive a reply, that'll be enough for me, and I will sincerely apologize for my suspicions. And also I'll be an ever bigger fan because not only are you a great VA, you're a fellow Monster Hunter fan too.
Did you read my FAQ when you sent the e-mail? Since that account is not run by my but by my agent, unless it's addressed properly, I may never see it.
I did, yes. There wasn't really anything there that made me think you wouldn't see the message, though I wasn't necessarily expecting a reply because I know VAs are busy people and obviously can't respond to every bit of fan mail they get (I've actually talked with Kyle Hebert about this when I interviewed him for a site I used to write for).
Anyway, for real, this whole thing isn't really a huge deal for me or anything. I've just seen it happen in the past, where fans of one thing or another are suckered in by someone claiming to be someone they're not. Even here on NeoGAF, someone claimed they were part of the production team for the recent Thundercats reboot, and got everyone in the thread excited, and spread misinformation, and were later proven to be just a slightly crazy fan. So I really do hope you can understand where I'm coming from here.
Either way, I'll try to respond if it comes my way.
Deception, Disgraaaace...
Here's where I called him out.
And his response:
And here's the PMs we exchanged:
As you can see, I did get a little bit suckered into thinking it might be him, but for the most part my suspicions remained intact. I know we're usually discouraged from going all DetectiveGAF, but...I don't know. Something about the possibility of someone's identity potentially being stolen just pissed me off enough to look into it.
