That's probably with RT on
PC needs top hardware to run to his game at 4k60… hardware better than theses consoles.Wtf at these consoles can’t run a 3 years old game at 4k 60 frames native . What is the texture details on these games compared to pc ?
yep...Looks great. I just don't like the game. Rise was better one for me
First game is indeed good… after well Rise is so-so… Shadow is the bad apple.I'm about 1/2 done and really like the game. Very fun trilogy
The ps4 pro version is definitely using CB as well and not native.one of best cb implementation, image sparper than native 1872p, nice
stories in modern tomb raiders are unsmokable.Worth playing for the levels. Best levels and tombs of the reboot trilogy.
Story is dogshit.
It's CBR because the PS4 Pro version is, That can't be changed, nothing to do with PS5.Native 4k at 60fps will cause sharp drops on PS5. So they went CBR route according to DF.
It is not native 4k in Series X.It's CBR because the PS4 Pro version is, That can't be changed, nothing to do with PS5.
If it had a native dynamic Res it would be different.
Same with XSX, it's native because the XOX was native too.
A complete native Next-Gen version would be different.
Although it's surprising the XSX version doesn't hit native 4k 60fps as it's only the XOX version without the cap.
For some reason trying to balance things out is just not being done for Xbox games....its almost like they care more about resolution over everything else. It's also dropping framerate.
Devs just didn't give a shit and kept XSX resolution while machine can't handle it. Change in PS5 resolution setup is much wiser decision.
Part of the marketing…For some reason trying to balance things out is just not being done for Xbox games....its almost like they care more about resolution over everything else.
And some folks see this as a ....win....
Interesting.
It is native. It is not native 4k in Series X.
It uses DRS like Xbox One X.
OP needs serious correction.
It is not native 4k like OP says.It is native.
3840x2160 is the upper limit. It likely hits that in only a small percentage of scenes.
2016p is the most common resolution.
It is not native 4k like OP says.
“Xbox Series X - Resolution mode runs at native 4k with no CBR or DRS”
It is basically a false claim.
It's CBR because the PS4 Pro version is, That can't be changed, nothing to do with PS5.

how did they think it's a good idea to keep the resolution on Xbox almost twice as high as on PS5... instead of giving both a 2160cb resolution?

Interesting.
Another question might be: Why did they bother spending any time making a patch for the Xbox at all, since their result is identical to what FPS Boost already provided.
They just wasted some programmer's time.
It's definitely a win with a VRR capable tv. Silky smooth gaming with 74% more pixels. Sucks for people with old TVs though, but they can switch to performance mode. For some reason trying to balance things out is just not being done for Xbox games....its almost like they care more about resolution over everything else.

If you like the reboot and Rise then i'd say no.Most important question: is this game worth playing? Opinions, please.
(I loved the original reboot, thought Rise was okay, but not as good as the predecessor)
IMO Tomb raider and uncharted games are equally good. In fact I even prefer rise of the tomb raider over Uncharted 4, because I had real troubles with aiming in U4. Aiming in U1-3 was responsive and fun, while in U4 aiming was laggy, and there was no precision on top of that, so I ended up using auto lock feature.Still have to finish the reboot and even start the other two.... have all of them, didn't like them much.
Very poor in comparison to Uncharted unfortunately.
There is no DRS.Sorry, I didn't see OP's post.
You're right. The original post is incorrect.
However, it is native. Full 4K is the intended resolution. It will hit that until DRS kicks in due to frame time shortfall, which is most of the time.
I did mean to say dynamic resolution, but it's still native. It is not native 4k in Series X.
It uses DRS like Xbox One X.
OP needs serious correction.
And what game does that?that's not true, developers can now change anything about a PS4 title ehen patching them for PS5. they can change the resolution any way they want on both systems
I agree they are equal. I don't like any of them.IMO Tomb raider and uncharted games are equally good. In fact I even prefer rise of the tomb raider over Uncharted 4, because I had real troubles with aiming in U4. Aiming in U1-3 was responsive and fun, while in U4 aiming was laggy, and there was no precision on top of that, so I ended up using auto lock feature.
I've not the care to actually check but every second post is saying something different. Wondering what the reality is. Regardless of the tech it's clear very little work was done and Xbox would be much better off at the cb 4k as well. There is no DRS.
I think people are confusing 2016p with 2160p.I agree they are equal. I don't like any of them.

It did happen, I thought it was a reupload.Oh, it's old news then
Edit: I thought John did a video about the PS5 version which included the Series X about a month or so ago? I checked and can't see it, am I high or did that happen?
There is no DRS.
No it isn't.Then they did alter the renderer to change the resolution. On Xbox One X, the game is full 2160p with DRS.
Well I've been lurking about but there haven't seem to be very many big events or announcements lately, at least pertaining to genres or systems I really care about. Most threads seem to be Another Onetm system wars. But I'm here, lately frequenting the Resident Evil recap RTTP/LTTP thread. I wish more people were talking about other things to get excited about(Jrpgs, rpgs inn general, VN, waifus lol), there are a few neat releases coming out soon without much fanfare. One of my most anticipated games of all time comes out this week, been waiting roughly 15 years for a sequel. I'm scared, but cautiously optimistic. But in truth it'll probably be another sleeper hit, at least I hope for that much.
I think that was the point. And it worked pretty well. 95% of people are convinced the game is native 4K on Xbox (or using DRS when nobody, including DF, ever stated it).I think people are confusing 2016p with 2160p.
That’s a common misunderstanding. CBR isn’t 100% free. How expensive it is depends on the implementation. It often uses the ID buffer and is a fair bit more demanding than a simple 50% drop in pixels.how did they think it's a good idea to keep the resolution on Xbox almost twice as high as on PS5... instead of giving both a 2160cb resolution?
NXGamer disagrees.
I know what you mean, the big events have been lacking lately and there are more updates to games then anything truly to get excited for.Well I've been lurking about but there haven't seem to be very many big events or announcements lately, at least pertaining to genres or systems I really care about. I always appreciate your posts and the Hype Trains.
For me the big release is Psychonauts. The first game is so well told and written, with great gameplay that changes based on theme and situation to a degree I feel is rarely seen. Just so many ideas at play that the devs didn't cut, that I feel is the reason why they struggled with funding and publishers back in the day. It ended on a cliffhanger, well not a bad one per se as the main story is wrapped up but its almost exactly like the end of Back to the Future if you catch my drift. It just wets the appetite and my imagination ran wild with possibilities.I know what you mean, the big events have been lacking lately and there are more updates to games then anything truly to get excited for.
And Thanks, it's nice being appreciated
what game is releasing this week??
I feel I'm out of the loop

DF said the resolution is around 2016p.I did mean to say dynamic resolution, but it's still native.
It just drops and goes up
Edit- apparently according to Mr Moose there is no DRS
I give up
He also agrees with DF and VG Tech on the res of Series X version, which matches DF One X in 2018.
And about the One X:
"It was definitely just under 4k on that version [One X] when I covered it back then"
I've always thought of uncharted as a Seann William Scott movie from 2002. Fine for an hour and a half, but I'd probably cut off a finger before agreeing to 20+ hours of it.Disagree, I think they improved shooting in UC4. In fact I just didnt get to do enough shooting.
I think Uncharted is several levels above TR, in terms of characters, dialogue and voice acting in particular Uncharted just destroys TR, I hated listening to Camilla Luddington and her breathy voice acting and all the characters were forgettable.
TR also doesn't have the charming characters or any interesting back and forth dialogue, nobody is charming at all. The villians in TR also terrible.
Uncharted 1 has aged badly but anything from 2 onward plays great for me, looks great and I think they all have great stories,
I think Uncharted 2 and Lost Legacy are the best ones followed by 3 and then 4.
My issue with 4 is all the forced walking and the pacing in general.
The stories of Uncharted are just way more engaging from what I've played too, I was told TR reboot was the best one and if I couldn't get through that....what hope is there for the others?
The thing about Uncharted is that the gameplay is actually great and underappreciated, you just need to play the multiplayer to see how good it actually is. I mean it puts most 3rd person shooters to shame. The rope in UC4 really made things a lot more fun IMO.
