Cannot wait to go on this brutal journey through the Norse mythology. They've not really shown us any of the Gods / main bad guys yet, so I wonder if we will get kill Gods like Odin, Thor and Loki (not the Marvel ones)
Caring and protecting Kratos? I don't think dev.team will be able to make that happen.
Curious to see how they want to top that. IMO that was already going too far.
I dunno, in Souls games, to give a different example, encounters usually have a lower enemy count and people don't complain.
I don't think this means we won't fight a bunch of scrubs at once. But you won't get an encounter with 3 Minotaurs and 5 foot Soldiers like in previous games, where it wasn't a problem due to the fixed camera, the long range of your weapons and how fast Kratos was able to traverse long distances rolling.
Suppose they have to say that since we haven't seen a drop of blood in the trailers, and fans start to ask questions. But "brutal" is not the same as "gore", and right now by the trailers I can see the same level of violence as a Marvel/Disney movie.
Yeah it not about enemy count but it's about diffrent enemies both big and small attacking u. In last game, especially in harder difficulty u have to figure it out which enemy u need to take out first. You`re right, it`s not about the enemy count. I shouldn`t have quoted both sentences because for me the interesting words were "personal" and "visceral". This and the trailers remind me very much of Hellblade; it looks and sound very similar. Which, again, might be a good thing.
If i was a 12-16 year old that statement would have made me very excited.

Quoting the actual comment from the interview since people seem content to post based on a headline:basically, this. can a sales pitch get any emptier? ...
Well that's 100% false. Also lol @ equating the trailers with Marvel/Disney violence. Come on.Suppose they have to say that since we haven't seen a drop of blood in the trailers, and fans start to ask questions. I think Im out then. I was very interested by the new direction they looked to be taking, but the ultra gore was a real turnoff in previous games and if its siimilar then Ill just skip it unfortunately.
That's how I've felt. GoW has always been a cartoon to me.How can you be turned off by such absurdly comedic, cartoony violence in the PS2 God of War games?
It's hilarious if anything.
I'm expecting the final scene to be a Viking funeral
Press f to pay respects.
Well even the extended comment mentions how brutal the game will be, there's nothing to misunderstand here.
This may come as a shock to you, but some people are turned off by extensive brutality and yes, may even consider it childish.

"This is a brutal world. The team said this is going to be the most brutal God of War you've played. This is when gods and monsters walked the lands. It's going to be pretty brutal."

Kratos is going to die a brural death isn't he.
Is that blood or lava?Time to post the gifs, Please wait!!
No offense, but complaining about extensive brutality in a God of War game is like complaining about unsimulated sex in a pornographic movie. You know what you're getting into before you start playing.

Oh, ok, didn´t see the ogre drop a little red blood, my bad. Still he could have ripped his eye or do something cool, but he just... covered him with a log.
So far it looked like they toned it down. Hope they speak the truth here since it just fits the mythologyI don't think not being brutal enough was ever the problem.
Dad of War's most brutal scene will involve Kratos teaching his son how to do homework.
Mowing the lawn for the sequel.Dad of War's most brutal scene will involve Kratos teaching his son how to do homework.
Maybe not, but its an admirable goal to aim for. If they can make people feel some empathy for Kratos it'd be quite an achievement considering how abhorrent and selfish the majority of his actions have been. I think Corey said there was nothing wrong with Kratos the murderer as a character, they don't all have to have redeeming features etc, but if they could convince you there were more layers and more to his character then it'd be mission accomplished.
But the series was always about gore, from very beginning. That's like complaining about Mortal Kombat for having gore. If u have issue with gore then u shouldn't play this type of games.I was hoping for a more mature game instead of just juvenile gore.
Oh well. :/
Good.
Dont dumb down the violence.
Brutal as in the environment and difficulty is how I took that comment to mean after actually listening to the conversation.Well even the extended comment mentions how brutal the game will be, there's nothing to misunderstand here.
