Getting ready to just play the game on PC and be done with it. Tired of waiting on the Switch version. Absolutely no news this late into the year leads me to believe it aint coming out this year.

Can't detect if this is a joke post or not, unless you live in some alternate universe where it's already December. Severed was announced the same day as it was released on the eShop. The release announcement of Overcooked was 3 days before release. And how would a dev tweeting a pic of a Switch running the game count as "no news"?

Agreed
And that person (was it a journalist I can't remember) tweeted how she was testing it too. It's clearly on the radar
Man this game.
Fixed the Community centre which was nice. Levelled up to 10 on each skill. Got a slime building getting built. Got my horsey and the greenhouse and wine cellar are cool. Just got into Fall year 2. Probably about done though with the game now. Feels like I've seen and done most things before everything starts becoming a chore. Money comes in pretty thick and fast now and have plenty of it.
Very much enjoyed my time with it. It has quite a lot of depth beyond its service and there's a lot to do to keep you occupied. Multiplayer co-op would have been a lot of fun I feel, so good it's coming at some point. Definitely recommended if anyone's on the fence like I initially was.
:(
I'm feeling good that we're only weeks away. Fingers crossed!
One thing I don't enjoy about this game is that it's not easy to switch between weapons/food etc instantly.
I keep dying in the mines because I get swarmed by enemies and it's stressful trying to run away while scrolling through your items looking for food to eat.
Edit: Just died AGAIN. Every time I get to around level 47 in the mines the bats just keep coming at me non stop from all angles and I can't switch between my sword and healing items fast enough to survive. Very frustrating, not fun at all.
Food right next to the weapon. Problem solved.I usually rearrange the items so the pickaxe, sword and healing item are close to each other.
Can you play this game infinitely, like to year 50 or whatever, if you so desired?
No trophy is missable right? If you miss something you can always get it the next year?
Every time I see a bump to this thread I enter and expect to see a Switch release date announcement. Every time I leave disappointed :-(
There's a separate thread about Switch news, this is the OT, sorry for wanting to discuss the game.
Ah yes, I read about that trophy. I can just make two saves rather than doing two playthroughs though right?
Does it matter where I place beehives, coops etc? Can they be moved if I want to neaten up my farm later?

I don't really remember if you can copy your save, but if you can, you can probably do everything in the community center but one of the items, and then finish it in one save, and pay Joja on the other, I guess.
You can change where things are placed, yeah. Buildings on Robin, other things by yourself.
Beehives in special give different types of honey depending on the flowers close to it.
I know myself. I won't ever touch the other version even if I had bought it. Plus money. Why not both?
You can't do that. Once you unlock the first thing from the community center you can't go with Joja anymore. Unless they change it recently.
@Tiyuri
Stardew Valley Switch is coming along very well. The last known bugs have been fixed and we're submitting for testing this week
Got to the bottom of the mines. Feel a bit lost now what to do with my time. Maybe I'll have to socialise with them lot in town. Still I can always go back for mining and items which bring a decent amount in.
Gonna tidy my farm up for the start of winter and a new growing season. Bought all the saplings so they'll grow and produce come their season. Starting to make jam and pickles, along with mayonnaise which are nice little earners. Think I'll upgrade my house again or perhaps buy the bigger chicken coop so I can get ducks. Or maybe a one for bigger animals.
Community centre is coming along nicely. Have one room finished and a fair few others nearly done. Fixing the mine cart was a godsend though. So much quicker to get about.
Not bad for nearly a first year.
Almost finished with Fall now. I won first prize at the Stardew Valley Fair, and then bet all of my tokens on the spinning wheel, doubled my earnings and bought the Starfruit, or whatever it's called. I've upgraded to iron axe & pickaxe, and I'm waiting until Winter to get my watering can upgraded too, as there's no way of predicting rain for a couple of days ahead so I might as well do it when I can't grow anything. I've also got to level 85 in the mine, and it seems a fair step-up in difficulty with tougher slimes, skeletons and various new enemies. I'll see if I can mine enough gold ore to upgrade my watering can up to gold in Winter. Once all my plants die I'm going to put up some fences, rearrange my farm a bit and maybe if I have enough hardwood by then upgrade my house too. I also haven't really done anything with the Community Centre yet, so when Spring rolls around again I need to grow more of everything, and I've barely spoke to anyone so I guess I should start forming some relationships next year as well.
you don't need to predict a couple days ahead - wait until a morning when the weather channel says rain tomorrow - water everything and hand your can in.
Two days later, go collect it, then water crops - you only miss 1 day of watering, which is the day it's raining
Do what you want.Nearing the end of my first year.
Got to about level 85 in the mines, got 9 five or more heart relationships, made quite a lot of progress in the community centre.
Just got my first chicken, and have started making jam/honey to see me through winter.
Upgraded all my tools to iron. Got about 40 items in the museum.
Level 8 farm skill.
I guess the rest of winter should be spent fishing, reaching the bottom of the mine, and progressing relationships?
Keep doing the mine grinding for getting loads of quality sprinklers, and whatever else needs winter for the community centre.Nearing the end of my first year.

If you discover floors in the mine between a multiplication of 5 is that layout and the ladder down to the next saved? So for instance if I go down to floor 89 but have to bail because it's getting late, when I come back will all the ladders be uncovered already to allow for a quick descent back to 89 again? Or do they 'reset'? I keep dying because I'm trying to do 10 floors in one go and when I get to 89 it's too late and I rush which ends up killing me.

Yes. Use your pick-axe on them. Thanks guys, I managed to get down to level 100 in the mine and was surprised that it wasn't the bottom! Nearing the end of Fall now and I've just smelted enough gold ore into gold bars so I can upgrade my watering can and maybe another of my tools when the time comes. I should probably start building relationships with villagers too, as I've barely spoken to anyone! I'm also kind of looking forward to crops dying out so I can put down some paths and put up a wooden fence around where I want to grow next year's crops. Is it possible to move scarecrows?
I'm getting to the end of winter and want to start prepping for Spring but don't really know where to start layout wise.
What's the point of building paths, fences etc? Just an aesthetic thing or do they actually have a purpose?
