There's a saying about fooling someone multiple times that I feel applies.
It looked so cool as well. I'm still holding out hope tbh.RIP my dream :'(
At this point what I really want from this game is a post-mortem with all the details. Must be an amazing read.
Well fuck.IMO their contract with Ueda requires them to turn the IP over to him if they terminate the game. So they will just pretend it is in development forever so they can keep the IP.
The game's dead. Sorry, I am tired of joking about this. I have many inside sources.

Yup.It's better to just stop looking for this game. Just assume it's dead any maybe it'll surprise us in a few years.
It's never been renewed, Sony simply filed a new application once the previous had been abandoned, nor did they petition to have the abandoned application revived. But yeah, if we don't see a new application shortly, then we can safely assume that the game is either cancelled or getting renamed (though that's unlikely). As I recall, the trademark has lapsed before - until presumably somebody in the legal department sent in a check to renew it. But if they don't bother renewing it this time, the game goes from unofficially dead to really most sincerely dead.

Even if they were rebranding, surely the trademark is still valuable to keep hold of. Why would they let it expire?
