Blizzard hosting Gamescom press conference on August 5th

I don't believe this is publicly streamed. Edit: Apparently the site mentions a livestream. Thanks bjaelke.

Previously they've noted that GamesCom will feature content and 500 demo stations for Hearthstone, Overwatch, Heroes of the Storm, StarCraft 2, and WoW.

So, most of these are self evident.

Hearthstone: The new expac was just announced, but they might mention a card or two.
Overwatch: New heroes, maybe a new mode.
Heroes of the Storm: They've about to start a StarCraft related event judging by the Legacy of the Void pre-order. Also they haven't previewed the post monk content or the new mode found in the data files.
StarCraft 2: The new co-op mode hasn't been detailed yet outside of the couple of sentences on the website.
World of Warcraft: 6.2 seems to be the last patch, so this is presumably the next expansion pack and the centerpiece announcement. They're inviting World of Warcraft fansites, so they clearly have something new to show here.

Unless something has changed, Diablo isn't present, but I guess it's not impossible they show up with another expansion pack for this instead of World of Warcraft. However, they're inviting World of Warcraft fan sites so that would be highly unlikely. Diablo is also notably Diablo in a Heroes of the Storm skin instead of Diablo from Diablo to boot.

Yeah, if Blizzard is actually legitimately going to release an expansion less than 9-12 months after the last content patch of the previous expansion then they can't wait until November (Blizzcon) to announce it, because it'll have to be in beta by then. Gamescom is the last major convention that it makes sense for them to drop a major announcement at until Blizzcon, so it'll probably happen here.

There'll probably be a some SC2/HotS/HS/Overwatch stuff there too, but the expansion announcement is going to be the centerpiece.

Hopefully we'll get an overwatch technical alpha announcement

Unfortunately looks like no D3 news. I figure SC2 will probably consume most of the stage time since it's got the big finale coming up.

I feel like no matter what WoW announced it's gonna end up on the receiving end of some serious shade.

WoD was the most expensive expansion to date and with the least patch content, they best be announcing something pretty damn good to offset that...

Even if they don't want to announce a D3 expansion here, the lack of Diablo is strange considering they seem to have a large presence there at Gamescom.

They'll really have to sell me on this one. WoD really soured me after how excellent MoP was. Not liking the direction they're going in at all.

Which is a shame, because Blizz's in-game visuals and sound have never been better. But WoD just felt hollow. The story was so not interesting and the garrisons were neat, but also incredibly damaging at the same time.

Know what I want back? A neutral city as cool as fucking Dalaran.

Should be starting to give more attention to LotV I'd think. Hopefully we'll hear about allied commanders mode.

Diablo 3 currently is going through a PTR for a new major patch. Doubt there would be an expansion any time soon.

Blizzard also isn't the type to announce a game and release it only several months after said announcement. That patch is likely going live within the next month or so and after that who knows what they'll have. When they announce the next expac either at gamescom or blizzcon this year (they will), we're not seeing that thing until the same time next year, at the earliest.

WoW expansion news won't come until Blizzcon IMO.

Reaper of Souls was announced at Gamescom a couple years ago. I could see them doing something similar with WoW where it'll just be a taste of the expac and all the details get expanded on at Blizzcon.

Mists of Pandaria was announced while the Deathwing raid patch was still on the PTR. I distinctly remember no longer caring about that patch (or the rest of the Cataclysm expac) after seeing all the new things in store for MoP.

Apparently WoW's beta server has been updated to 7.0.

I've been following that thread on MMOC as well. Seems to be a lot of fake info floating around, so hard to tell what is real.

At this point, I'm just assuming they will announce something WoW-related. Next patch leading to 7.0 or even 7.0 itself.

WoW expansion news won't come until Blizzcon IMO.

If they don't, then pretty much everyone playing WoW right now is going to be PISSED. WoD is being met with mixed reactions, and if 6.2 is indeed the last raid tier, it launched last month. That means it will have been around for 5 months, and unless Blizzard is promising to have the expansion out in early spring, it'll be around for another 5 months. Their precious 3 expansions' last raid tier lasted a year or so and that's just unacceptable especially with how stale the content is this time around.

I have a feeling this will be the announcement with a high level overview of what we can look forward to (please no garrisons...) and that they'll do a deep dive at BlizzCon and beta will be like right after that.

More Overwatch heroes? How many heroes are we supposed to expect the game to have? Well, I am not complaining, the more variety the better.

The time is right for Blizzard to drop the bomb and announce a new MMO.

Yes, I know the chances for this to happen are slim to bupkiss, but it would shake the MMO landscape to its foundations. I refuse to believe that they have given up on the MMO dream for good.

And yes, I know that Heroes and Hearthstone basically print money for them.

WoW is getting something, as they're inviting WoW fansites. 6.2 is the last raid patch of the expansion, and I doubt Blizzard is going to have a huge set piece for Selfie Patch 2 - Twitter Boogaloo if they do a 6.3 so an expac announcement seems the logical thing.

Then Diablo 3 expac announcement at Blizzcon.

This time we get to go back in time to fight Orcs in the Vanilla WoW era. But all the orcs are brown now!

$70 with level boost and 1 raid. No new dungeons.

Better announce General Edmund Duke as a playable character in Heroes of The Storm and as a playable commander in Legacy of The Void

Sad for Diablo absence but that was kind of expected. 2.3 features are almost expansion worthy, especially the cube, I think they'll have fuel to go with that for several months.

I hope by 2018 we will have warcraft 4 and Diablo 4.

No reason to make a Diablo 4. Diablo 3 is a solid enough base to keep just releasing expansions on top of it to woo people back every so often (along with patches like 2.3).

And Warcraft 4 would almost certainly be a disappointment; people are crazy for wanting it.

My predictions are:

1. WoW expansion.
2. Overwatch beta date. Not going to surprised if they announce founder's pack buy-in.
3. Diablo 3 expansion teaser for Blizzcon.
