Does TTK disc have everything on disc or is it codes + vanilla destiny inside? If it is codes then it is the same as people keeping vanilla destiny and buying digital for TTK

Not necessarily. If you don't have the dlc you don't qualify for digital TTK afaik.
Vanilla + codes. If you don't have either of the first two expansions this is actually a decent deal.
If you only have vanilla the cheapest TTK upgrade is $60. This knocks it down to $40, which is the base price of you already own Dark Below and House of Wolves.
if you never bought the DLC this saves you quite a ton.
I'm going to ask. I have the CE as well but I'm betting no.

not quite, someone like me who never bought the first two dlc packs will get them for free buying the retail release, at current UK prices buying the taken king at retail is the same as just TTK digital WITHOUT the main game or dlc 1 or 2, huge price difference.

This is pretty smart move by gamestop. I'm feeling pretty compelled to take them up on it, since my primary issue with TTK pricing is that, as someone who owns vanilla and HoW, I still had no recourse but to pay the full $60 price.

I was gonna skip this since, at a $60 price point, I can't help but feel this is the product they should have gave me last year. And I'm put off by Bungie's distorted conception of value, given there are definitely people out there who already spent $100 on Destiny and buying its expansions peicemeal. Selling me The Taken King for $40 along with the DLCs I skipped changes that mental perception, as arbitrary as I'm willing to admit that is.

Content wise this is a pretty awesome deal for people without the DLC.
*sigh* I thought it was stupid people that lost the cases but now I know the truth about all those crumby generic boxes at GS.

Or you could keep your physical destiny disc, buy the legendary version, use the codes for the expansions, then sell the legendary version back to gamestop for 30-33 dollars.

33 is the most I have seen them give for a new release.
Also when FFX\X2 on the vita was new I saw that it had the normal trade in value, even though X2 is just a code.
I'll be shocked if GameStop is that dumb over a major release.

Sounds like a good deal because with the ttk, im not gonna get more than 20 for it.
I bet that for the first week or two they actually are dumb enough to give $25-$30 trade-in value on the Legendary Edition.
Someone pm me if that's true I'm buying the collectors so this deal doesn't apply to me lol

Heh, what sucks is Best Buy just had it for like $7 and everyone was saying not to buy it because of TTK being out soon.

Wow, really good deal. I preordered this on Amazon for $50 but this is worth going to GameStop for.
We need that one Gaffer to ask is GM at BestBuy to match/beat this deal
LOL "worst buy" if you have GCU and trade in vanilla Destiny for the new TTK version you'd probably save almost as much.
Pretty sure that's ok by the deal they posted.

I know it's early, but has anyone actually done this yet? The link in the OP is still the only actual place on the internet that seems to mention the $20 trade credit deal, the gamestop site itself doesn't have it anywhere.
