You know, I'm going to be Captain Obvious and point out, like I have to in every damn review thread, that reviews have a purpose for consumers.

Not everyone has the money to waste on every blockbuster movie, or every new AAA game, or even every new album on the block. People read reviews to find A) insight and interesting commentary on the subject matter and B) figure out if it's worth their hard-earned cash.

Also, Snyder has done two lacklustre DC films so why they stuck with him again is odd. Makes you think they had no choice other than delaying the whole universe.

Also Man of Steel wasn't extactly bad. It was mixed mostly because it was a different superman. Plus the poor writing. I thought Zack was good and he just needed a good writer. But I was wrong afterwards.

I just watched Superman 1978 for the first time less than a month ago! There's no nostalgia here. that theme is one of the best pieces of music from the greatest film composer of all time.

I like the Zimmer theme but come on son. It's not nostalgia, it's a timeless, incredible, iconic theme.

I firmly believe they'll bring that theme back to Superman next time they reboot the franchise.

If you have a particular critic that falls in line with your tastes, great, use that as a way to gauge interest and expectation. So they aren't really just movies, they are a piece of their youth being brought back, many to the big screen for the first time. It's an exciting thing and I think easy to understand why people blow up with joy or disappointment.
