Which actor has the better movies and TV: Will Smith or Chris Pratt?

For me this mostly comes down to Men in Black vs Guardians of the Galaxy, and Men in Black is just so much cooler and more rewatchable
 
I mean Will Smith has had a much longer and more successful career so its kinda a given. But also - why we comparing these two specifically. Seems totally random.
 
Debatable about success - for example Chris Pratt has a higher box office gross (even if you subtract the two Avengers movies he was in).

Chris and Will also seem to have about the same average score on IMDB for their movies (AI says that is 6.8, it might be wrong)

I just thought this would be a fairer and more interesting poll than trying to compare Will against Leo.

The Numbers has Will Smith in the leading role in 32 out of his 41 movies. Chris Pratt in the leading role in 16 out of 40.

Will Smith in leading role has $7bn box office ($10bn all movies), Chris Pratt in leading role has $6bn ($16bn all movies).

As for the question, Will Smith wins because Independence Day is better than Chris Pratt's whole career.

I don't care how weird he is now, it's hard to beat the Fresh Prince.
 
I was watching clips of Fresh Prince last night. It was Uncle Phil scenes because James Avery was excellent, but that show as a whole was brilliant.

Will's name and legacy have been tainted by the slap and the recent AI thing has made him seem more desperate, but he was huge and put out some brilliant stuff once upon a time. If you were around in his prime you still remember how big he was.

Also, Chris Pratt never rapped the theme songs to his films.
 
I'll say smith. It's that obvious really. If you look at his body of work, he's got some absolute bangers.

I do like Pratt tho. Also, I'd like to add that I dunno what smith is doing musically, but he should stop. It's fuckin painful.

Sure, Jurassic Park movies should have died after the first one but dinosaurs are awesome so I'll include them and I included movies he does voice work in but we can exclude them if we aren't counting voice work. He might not have big roles in all these movies but they are still better than anything Will has ever done, his acting sucks. He was funny on the Fresh Prince so I'll give him that but his acting otherwise blows dick.


Really though, I'm just trying to get in Pratt's pants tbh
 
With a little more time Chris Pratt will outpace willy Smith in quality movies but as of right now Will Smith has more bangers than Chris Pratt.

Curious what people would decide is the better tv show, fresh prince of bel air or community? I think community is a more funnier show but fresh prince was better overall as a TV show, it could do serious and funny both effectively.
 
Smith definitely.

The fact that i like pratt character in parks and recreations more than i like fresh prince is purely personal taste.

I don't really like pratt outside of p&r tbh, i hate his starlord with a passion, dude was better when he was fat and actually funny.

In all seriousness, I think my favourite Pratt character was in Parks and Recreation.
 
Will has been in better films/shows but said films/shows are better because of the rest of the cast, not Will.
 
I am not too fond of current Will Smith but there can be no deny that he had better movies (so far) than Chris Pratt.



 
Chris Pratt has parks and rec and guardians of the galaxy while his other flicks are just ok. Will Smith has so many more bangers it's not even fair.
 
Will Smith is so corny... I'm still mad about watching The Pursuit of Happyness once on a flight, it's the posterchild for "film about a smart person, made for dumb people." And "I, Robot" is awful, simply dreadful failure of a sci-fi film on every level, certainly including his acting.
 
I think Pratt is a more charismatic actor, he handles comedy much better. With The Terminal List, marvel, and Jurassic Park I think he may even take the action edge from Will as well. ID4 is a hiiiiiiiiiiiigh bar though and I do find the BB franchise to be a guilty pleasure. Pratt has some real duds as well. Smith has an Oscar and a wider variety of performances, so objectively it's Smith. The personal life stuff is hard to overlook though, Pratt has some douche moments as well but I'd much rather have a beer with him.

Point to Pratt....
 
I have not really enjoyed Chris Pratt in anything. Will was cool once upon a time. Men in Black, original Bad Boys, and Enemy of the State were him at his peak. Wild West was his first big flop and the trajectory of his career took a downward turn after it.

P.S. Independence Day is dumb and his role is irrelevant in it.

Christ pratt has one good movie (zero dark), will has four (independence day, enemy of the state, men in black and ali). Will wins.

While I loved Will Smith in his prime when I was a teenager, his schtick is grating as an adult. Recently rewatched Men in Black and he's pretty fucking annoying throughout.

Chris Pratt in Parks & Rec is above everything Will Smith has done, not to mention Everwood and Terminal List which are both great.

This alone makes Chris win. Also, I really enjoyed Terminal List on Prime.
