X-men 97 Season 2 leaked trailer (NYCC)

The 90s are the past, present and future? They're talking my language. I really liked the shot of Cyclops and Jean wearing the early 00s X jackets. Looks really good. I'll never understand why so many of these CC trailers aren't released to the public. Back when E3 was a thing, they would usually release their trailers to the public as well as provide the trailers to conference attendees.

I think part of it is a benefit of exclusivity and appeal, due to these audiences buying tickets for these perks.

E3 used to be the same way. They'd have new devices and software at exclusive showings and booths and some of it would never see the light of day. Part of that held true even to E3's last years, where games like Cyberpunk 2077 were first shown behind closed doors and you would only get impressions from press. Same goes for Summer Games Fest today. We didn't see actual gameplay footage of Pragmata until months afterwards, but it was playable at SGF this year.

If you strip all of this away that takes away from the appeal and sales of tickets/passes.

Well I fucking loved season one and own a boot of it! Cautiously optimistic for season 2 even though they fired the show runner who was seemingly a huge X-Man fan. Don't fuck this up Disney.

From what I remember during that controversy, he managed to do his part in planning and writing most of season 2 before being let go. It's season 3 we have to worry about.

Well, I lost my pants.

I can't wait, the original series was a special thing between my dad and I, we both spent every Saturday morning watching cartoons and that was one of them. When I saw they announced the '97 series, I wasn't sure whether to be internally bothered or excited. On the one hand, I love X-Men in general. On the other, I was afraid they'd butcher the cartoon.

I was pleasantly surprised at how great season 1 was, even though they did my life dirty in episode 5 and I still haven't recovered.

Can someone briefly run through what was so good/bad about the first season? I never saw it but thought the original show was pretty cool.

Good: Good plotline around the dangers of sentinel usage, the devastation they can bring in the future, potential string pulling in secret by hidden figures, and Magneto using that as a reason to further his own mutant-only agenda. Great character writing goes along with this.

They also weren't afraid to kill off some people in the story. They also slowly shed the 'kid friendly' nature of the original show and it gets more mature over time (Wolverine actually uses his claws on people).

Bad: More than one episode were 'bottle episodes' or 'villain of the week' episodes, which I guess existed in the original but it kind of weakens the storytelling here since shows like this don't really do that as much anymore today. In these episodes some very interesting or important characters were revealed and then were gone in the same episode, at the end.
